《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0006: Voice In My Head (4)

[As well as the mutants as most creatures living in this forest are animals. They will only end up prey for the wild animals. In addition, this forest is one of the most secluded areas in the world.]
"... You will kill me with a heart attack."
[Denying. That will not happen and I will never let you die. Furthermore, you do not possess a 'heart' as you are a spirit, indicating that you as a 'whole' are considered to be your life source.]
'I didn't ask though... Let's just go.'
Without voicing a word, Reece began flying toward the direction Daniel instructed him. He was flying at a steady pace and is 10 meters away from the ground while still guarding up for possible enemies.
Reece was bothered that they would latch into him from every direction.
Nevertheless, as 10 minutes have passed and he has yet to encounter any animals, monsters, or mutants, Reece was now beginning to calm. He began to observe the forest he was in.
The trees in the forest were enormous and are very dense. They stood 50 meters in height, just slightly shorter than the tree where he woke up. It was dark as if there was a heavy rain covering the beautiful ray of sunlight that Reece could hardly see any traces of light unless he flew higher than the trees.
Wild animals who are used to the forest environment should be labeled as highly dangerous. After all, the forest is not easy to survive and live a comfortable life for decades in which the tribes and villages living in the forest were able to achieve.
'They are not to be underestimated indeed. Then, I shall quietly do my job and leave this forest once and for all.'
Now that Reece felt determined for the first time after his sudden unfortunate death, he began to smile more as he enjoyed flying at a comfortable pace.
'But something seems missing...'
Reece thought but decided to ignore it.
'Ah, I wish this never ends.'
However, just as he began to loosen up, something troubling has finally made its appearance. And it was just his second day.
[Warning. There are accurately 4 birds from the 'Long Fangs Birds Tribe' nearby, hunting for prey. Suggestion. Avoid getting notice and composedly follow them for now as I am currently confirming individual 'Azure' thoughts.]
'Ugh.'
Reece growled.
'I was just—fine. So very annoying.'
Without Reece asking Daniel, the disingenuous voice has already taken its action and Reece eventually grew smaller in size enough to not be sensed by the strongest creatures in the forest. With this, he will have no worries about following the 4 birds into their nest.

"I found a Stone Bear nesting in one of the caves near the mountains. It is a female and seems to be pregnant."
The bluebird in its humanoid form reported his findings around the area they chose to take rest.
"Ha! Jackpot!"
"Good job, hahaha!"
The birds are very happy about the stone bears, whose meat is quite delicious. Its sturdy bones could also make a good weapon. While its fur is comfortable to use as a blanket or a cloth.
"What great news indeed. Now, go and survey the area as we rest."
The bluebird simply nodded its head and quickly left.
On the other hand, the other three birds currently in their humanoid form as well were laughing as they keep on leisurely talking. In other words, they are treating the bluebird as their lackeys.
Meanwhile, Reece, who was currently in one of the tree branches sat as he watches the birds resting down, sigh after witnessing their mistreatment of the bluebird.
Although he did not feel pity for the bluebird for his mistreatment, it was still an unpleasant sight.
"Anyway, stalking nincompoops is quite entertaining. And I could understand their language pretty well too."
[I am translating them for you.]
Daniel, the annoying voice echoing in Reece's head, butt in once again.
He was just simply talking to himself but Daniel always, always answers his question that does not even need an answer.
"Tch. Could you please shut your mouth for a minute and not answer every question I am directing in myself?"
[I understand.]
'Haa...'
Of course, for Reece to do his job, it is normal that he has some special abilities like understanding all the language even if they sounded way too different from what he was used to.
Anyway, it is still in the middle of the day but the three birds were already resting while the other one was surveying and reporting. The other three birds, yellow, green, and brown colored respectively, have huge and bulky muscles in their humanoid forms.
However, Reece already notices that the timid bird, with its feathers and hair color, with a lighter shade of blue, was a unique existence among the four. He could tell as his gazes straightly head towards the bluebird and his eyes followed him the whole time.
[Correct. That 'bluebird' is a unique existence and is going to become 'Hugh Ibrahim's' trusted right arm in the future. He, as well, was a mutant with the blood of a snake but only he knows of it.]
And Daniel agreed with him as well.
Hugh Ibrahim's right arm.
This bluebird is a needed existence so Reece decided he will follow him around and not the other three. It is obvious with the way they are treating the bluebird that those three birds are the typical idiotic villainous who do not even notice they are the foolish ones.

"His name is?"
[Report. The bluebird's name was 'Azure.' He was 19-year-old and is working as a food hunter. He was informed he was a Snake Mutant at the age of 8 but it is unclear whether the Snake Tribe knows of him. Furthermore, 'Azure' was one of the strongest existence in the 'Long Fang Birds Tribe.' However, as bluebirds are usually considered the weakest color in their tribe and are only known for their intelligence, he could not reveal his strength or he will be suspected as a mutant.]
"That means that once he was found out, he will be executed in a jiffy."
[Correct.]
Although Hugh Ibrahim was not killed despite being an obvious mutant, it is different for Azure who was not an apparent mutant.
In this place, Daniel has explained to Reece that snakes are one of the natural enemies of the birds as they are both races surviving in the wilds of the forest.
Though on Earth, snakes are only foods for large birds, it is certainly different right now.
A snake in this world was enough to tear down a 50-meter tall tree on its own. Imagined how strong and enormous could a snake be on its largest size. It was the same for the birds who as well could freely adjust their sizes.
"Is he not on the list?"
If he is included, it would be great as Reece could hit two literal birds with one stone.
[Negative. 'Azure' is not as he was an intelligent creature, and is already fully knowledgeable of what to choose and what to follow.]
"At the very least, I am glad it is not the snake I have to get close with."
He'd rather with the lion.
Though Reece was only afraid of worms and centipedes, he was always reminded of them whenever the snakes come to view so Reece wanted to avoid them at cost.
"Speaking of which, is there a Snake Tribe here too?"
[There is a 'Village of Snakes,' however, they are the farthest to the 'Birds Tribes.']
"It makes sense or there will always be war in the forest."
If each race lives near the other, a fight or a war will always break out, even if each chief pledges allegiance or a neutral relationship. Be it jealousy, inferiority complex, and likewise, those who do not come to the same circle will never be friendly with each other.
Worst, they will see each other as prey and ends up hunting one another. It will be pandemonium.
"But I am curious, why is it that the birds are tribes but the snakes are a village? If my instinct is correct, birds are one of the largest race in the number living in this forest."
[Correct. They are considered the 4th largest creatures in number. However, it is a fact that birds are also prideful creatures. When they are still a growing species, the first generation with each having a leader mentions they do not want to work for each other. That is why the birds have numerous tribes but are yet to form a village or a kingdom.]
"You are saying there are more bird tribes and not only the Long Fangs?"
All this time, Reece believes there is only a sole bird tribe that existed in the entire forest. He did not expect there are more.
Reece touches his chin.
"Well, now that I think about it, they are called a tribe for a reason."
[Right. There are a total of 7 bird tribes in the forest. 'Long Fang Birds Tribe' is where 'Hugh Ibrahim' is currently residing, which is why I did not bother to mention the other tribes.]
Reece held a sigh as he shook his head and thought how more annoying can Daniel be.
"Whatever."
[Do you want me to introduce all the bird tribe names?]
Shaking his head, Reece firmly answer.
"No. But I have a feeling that other tribe names could be 'Sharp Claws Birds Tribe' or 'Long Neck Birds Tribe.' Oh, how about 'Long Leg Birds Tribe?' Haha."
He finds such names really funny but he did not expect Daniel's response.
[... Accurate. Those tribe names you have mention existed.]
He was only joking though. Reece stayed quiet for a moment out of surprise before responding.
"Oh... Is that so?"
[That is right.]
"They... do not have good naming sense, hmm."
[...]
Staying still for a while, Reece was getting bored.
The birds have all fallen asleep and that makes it more boring. He wanted to wander around since there is that bluebird making sure the area is safe, however, Daniel was warning him to stay still.
[Notice. You should follow 'Azure' and meet up with him.]
"It is time? I thought we are just following them?"
[I have already confirmed individual 'Azure' thoughts.]
"Hmm, I see. But how could he understands me when I'm still using my language?"
[I am here.]
"... Right."
Reece glances at the birds before flying towards the direction Azure left.
'It is finally starting.'
