《I Am The GUIDE》[Vol.1] 0005: Voice In My Head (3)

[Note. These birds from the Long Fangs Birds Tribe are similar to Earth's 'Toucan' though their children's humanoid appearances taller than most humans of the Earth and possess multiple colors.]
"Their children are taller than humans...? Just how tall are their adults!?"
Reece screamed in astonishment.
He imagined the adults of the Bird Tribes as towering as a titan that he felt intensely terrified.
However, Daniel ignored him.
[Nonetheless, 'Hugh Ibrahim' was mistreated but is not fighting back due to some emotional dilemmas.]
Reece's eyebrow twitched.
'Just because he was a mutant, he is treated as cursed?'
Due to the child having a lion's blood running through his veins, Hugh Ibrahim must be stronger than normal but is simply not fighting back.
[Yes. He is currently in a prison room as his grandparents place him there and the birds of the 'Long Fangs Birds Tribe' and even the other birds from neighboring tribes have to offer to play with 'Hugh Ibrahim.' The lion mutant became a laughing stock and a toy.]
"Err. How extreme..."
Being held in prison by his own grandparents and is even making money by selling him out for a certain amount of time every day—just how sad and painful must it have been.
Reece sigh once more.
"What a typical background story for a hero of justice."
For the main character to grow, most of them have either tragic background stories or someone they treasured dying at the hands of the villains. He never imagined such tales actually exist in another world.
However, Reece would not deny the fact that he felt anger hearing that a young man who was even two years younger than himself being mistreated.
First and foremost, Reece died a few days later after enduring his misery but how much suffering does the boy has to endure?
"Oh, you said there are Bird Tribes? Are those birds I have met earlier part of any tribe?"
[Corrrect. They have been under control to watch over you. However, do not worry, they may be the strongest bird warriors but they will not be able to remember your encounter earlier.]
"I'm glad."
It will be ugly if the birds earlier were not under control and are actually thinking of devouring him. Reece was sure he will quickly die without trying.
"Hm. I see that lions exist here too?"
Lions, back on earth, are prideful creatures and are the only cats that live in groups. They are ferocious and vicious, especially when hungry or provoked. Reece has only seen lions once when he visited a zoo in the middle of his vacation but they must have similarities to the lions of this world.
[Correct. However, Lions belong to one tribe only, the 'Feline's Tribe.']

"Oh. Accordingly, every cat-like creatures belong to one family. So it is possible huh. They must be a cute family."
Reece snickers while thinking of the small and adorable cats together with the large ones. It must be a very cute sight. After all, Reece is obsessed with cats.
[Notice. The Lions here are of the size of a three-story building.]
Reece flinch.
'Hm? Did Daniel just said the size of a building...? A three-story building at that!?'
Looking back at the Earth's three-story building, it is indeed extremely large.
'Scary! So scary!'
Who would not? Picture a towering Lion with its enormous body?
"Ahem. T-that... not cute at all. It is very scary."
Coughing, Reece continues.
"Anyway, where were we?"
Going back to the main topic, what is wrong with the current Hugh Ibrahim that needed Reece's guidance? If he was mistreated, then it must be related to his emotional balance. After all, Reece, who died after getting beaten, has almost gone insane.
How about Hugh, who has to suffer his whole life?
[Warning. You shall balance his emotions or he might end up devouring his entire tribe. A lion is still a lion.]
Listening to the word 'devour,' Reece felt colds once again. The image of the giant bird with meat and bloody claws he witnessed earlier entered his mind.
"... What happens if I fail?"
Reece anxiously questions as he restlessly anticipated Daniel's response.
[Predicting five years from the future—completed. The individual 'Hugh Ibrahim' will become the King of the Lions as he conquered the entirety of both the North and the West and obliterate all bird tribes.]
Hugh will be able to conquer both the North and the West and it is just 5 years from the future. Then, what will happen 10 years from the future? Is it the entirety of the world? If not, then the universe?
Suddenly, Reece felt a headache coming.
"It is only a prediction... right?"
Reece pleads Daniel will say he was right.
[Correct. There is only a 99.99% possibility of it happening.]
"Oh."
Reece drops his wings and carelessly whispered.
"... I think I am quitting."
[Denied.]
"Haaa... You said 'only' but there is barely a tiny 1% of it not happening. Furthermore, you confirmed just now that it is the actual future of Hugh Ibrahim."
[True. My prediction is quite accurate.]
Dumbfounded, Reece sigh.
"You sounded smug just now—whatever."
[Negative.]
'Why did my life become like this?'
Reece crosses his arms as he thought of how unfortunate he has become.
It would have been nice if Daniel was artificial intelligence, so Reece was feeling rather unpleasant believing Daniel was better than an AI.

'At least an AI will not make fun of me.'
"I can't do it after all."
[Rejected.]
"No, no. You said he will devour his tribe once he lost his mind. What if he... hmm, devour? Will he be able to devour a physical less me? Nevermind."
Reece quickly changes his mind.
He had forgotten once again that he now has become a Spirit so Hugh Ibrahim could not tear off his limbs and eats him. It is one of Reece's anxiety so he felt relive as he began to question Daniel.
"So that is why birds are chirping everywhere. Is he near the area?"
Evidently, he did not wake up in the middle of the forest for no reason. His first target should be around in a distant area to boot.
[Correct. Approximately 1000 kilometers away from this tree.]
A scowl was visible on Reece's face.
For a lazy human like him, 50 was already a huge amount of number. But now it was 1000. Moreover, Reece felt like it is too tiring just considering how far he has to travel to reach the Long Fangs Birds Tribe.
"What if he attacked me the moment he sees me? I don't believe he will be friendly though."
[Do not worry as 'Hugh Ibrahim' has taken likings to 'cute and weak beings.' He does not bring them harm and instead, takes care of them and grants them protection.]
'Ah, so Hugh Ibrahim has an unexpectedly soft side for the weak.'
An image of a Lion Mutant with bird wings acting gently towards a small scaredy-cat Reece—it looks vicious.
Reece takes a look at his appearance once more. His pink hair and eyes paired with his small stature and sparkly fairy wings screams 'adorableness.'
"Is that why you made my appearance girly so he will not be cautious of me? I see it now. How considerate of you."
Reece believes Daniel was only making fun of him however, it seems to be not the case as it is actually necessitated for his job. He felt guilty judging Daniel as the voice was only reducing the risk of danger for him.
The young Reece coyly smiled as he scratched his cheeks, not fully aware of Daniel's real intentions.
[... True.]
Once again, Daniel hesitated in acknowledging his claims. Momentarily, Reece knew he was right all along, this 'voice' is not very nice.
"... Whatever."
[...]
Morning came and the two were almost done with their talk.
Now, it is finally time for Reece to take action, he has to leave the huge tree today and travel to the Long Fangs Birds Tribe where Hugh Ibrahim is located.
Reece drifted into one of the tree branches as he looks down.
The tree was really far from the ground. It must be around 60 meters tall, that is why. Reece was still feeling scared of jumping until Daniel commanded his body on which it obliged.
"Aaaah!! Dan—hmph!"
As most birds and unknown creatures near Reece were startled by his scream, Daniel quickly ordered Reece to cover his mouth until he safely reached the ground.
Of course, Reece was still flying in his beautiful wings but now with a huge scowl on his beautiful face.
"What the hell? You could use my body?"
That was unexpected.
[Of course. How could I help you fight if I cannot?]
Reece paused and nodded.
"Makes sense."
He thought Daniel would only give out information about his enemy and direction to move and what to do, but it is better if Daniel truly is the one who will fight for both of them.
Now Daniel has become more useful.
"But why'd you scare me like that? It's not good for my heart."
[You should keep your mouth shut or other creatures will prey on you.]
Reece flinches at Daniel's words.
Looking around, he started retreating until his back hits the tree where he came down from. It is not difficult to deny that he was extremely terrified.
"But I thought only I should be wary about Hunters that hunt Spirits? Now, what's with these Monsters you spoke of?"
They have been in the forest for a day now yet Daniel never mentions once that there are Monsters in the forest too.
[Indeed. I did say wary, but did I mention monstrosities do not eat spirits and fairies? Especially a rare one. Monsters, after all, are different from animals and mutants.]
Daniel was saying he did not specifically discuss monsters or other creatures that are lurking nearby as they will not pose a threat to Reece—more like, to Daniel. However, they do hunt and eat spirits and fairies like his current form.
'Haaa... damn it.'
Reece wanted to cry in frustration while praying that Daniel should just disappear soon. He does not need him. Everything that the 'voice' does was to make fun of him and it is becoming bothersome.
While still holding back with only a string of patience left, Reece spoke.
"You did not mention monsters exist in this forest. And I thought they are rare?"
[The monsters in this forest are very low in number though, which is why I did not have any reason to be wary of them.]
"Yeah... Right."
