《DK (Dropped)》Chapter VI - Egg Chamber

Up the stairs I went.
It wasn't much of a walk and just a few seconds later I already reaching the second floor.
(Some lamps would do good in here!) So I thought, as more I walked, the darker it got, the ceiling and walls formed almost a full circle, on wich the stairs seemed to break that circle.
The stairs were a bit big compared to the wasps, so I assumed they were built only for me.
As I reached what it looked like it a floor entrance, the stairs kept going up to the other floor, but there was some sort of an extra open space before the main room, there was also an opening to it with some sort of light.
I walked into it and saw it, the main room of the second floor, wich is an the egg chamber.
(What the fuck?) These were the words in my mind as I saw at least as twice more eggs from what I was told, on wich were about half the size of a wasp. (They even glow in the dark!)
"Great DK!" This sentence I heard, coming from between the eggs and as I looked close, a shield and sword laid next to them.
A figure rose up between those eggs, took me a second to realize that it was the shield wasp.
"Welcome to the nest room, I hope that everything we did pleases you!" He said while petting an egg.
(Why do I feel quite annoyed with what he just said? Still, they did do what I asked, I did promise to take care of their queen...)
Suddenly, at the end of that room, a portion of the wall opened like a door.
From the other side she emerged, their queen, wich carried a newly hatched egg on her four arms.

She paused for a second, surprised as it was her first time seeing me.
After a moment, she laid the egg right next to the other ones and signaled the shield wasp to leave, on wich he bowed his head before doing so.
"Please sit, great one." Politely the queen said while pointing to the front of the what it seemed her bedroom.
"Ah, so polite, thank you!" I answered while sitting, giving a glance at the tiny room she was previously in.
"Tell me, how many eggs do you plan on filling this room today?" I asked her while turning my face to the current room filled with eggs.
"This was the last one of the day, the 20th!" She told me with a gentle tone while sitting down next to me, "I am still young and this is my limit."
(Was she expecting more? Fuck, I know that back on earth wasps can put almost 100 a day, bees up to a 1000 and god knows how many by other animals, but still, this is nuts!)
"20 is a good number. You should be happy, but..." I paused,"Why here? Did not the others tell you about me?"
"Are you unhappy with your egg chamber? Or how did we build the nest?" She asked me nervously."All of us, even our future young will do everything as you wish!" She said proudly to me.
(Why the fuck would I need an egg chamber? Oh wait! I am the first skeleton they see? Their standards for a house should include an egg chamber, doesn't it?) I answered myself.
In this kind of different culture, them requiring an egg chamber was like me requiring a grave.
"Tell me, with all your honesty, what do you think of me?" I asked the queen for her opinion.

She joined her hands, looking like she was praying.
"Great DK, Lord of this land, the one who saved the survivors of our race! The one who makes the armies of Arach retreat!" (Queen)
"The one who sheltered us, gave us a chance for our young!" She cheerfully said. "You are like a God! Our Protector!"
I(Yes, this land is mine! At least I got that into their heads! Fuck Yeah! But... I got no idea where the army part came from, there was only five of them!) I did wonder what was the number of the spiders army.
Wasn't it you who gave birth to the eggs? I just asked for a bloody house!)
At the last sentence In my mind, there was only one thing that appeared from my memory, some sort of evil happiness.
(Why do I feel like one of my favorite characters from a movie? The one who controlled all sides and tricked them into creating his empire!)
"I am pleased with your answer." I told the queen. "But I am not sure about being a God... I mean, look at me? It is not like I am a White God or something like that!"
At that moment, after this last sentence, her wasp's eyes seemed to have stars sparkling.
I paused for a second, pretended to release a slight "cough".
"Well, You and the other wasps, may think of me as you wish." I informed her and while doing so, I rose up.
"I will have to check the other floors, but tell me, how long does wasp eggs take to hatch? And after they do, how long until they mature?" I was curious about this particular matter.
"Of course! An egg takes a full day to hatch, then the baby larvae will eat and prepare his cocoon to grow into a wasp, this also takes one more day!" She happily informed.
(20 eggs each day, but 2 days to hatch?) And here I was, with simple math in my thoughts, (That's 20 wasps every 2 days?)
(No! If she lays 20 every day, that means that after the first batch is born, 20 wasps will be born every day!)
That would mean 100 wasps in 7 days. 27 days would equal 500 wasps, in 2 months at least 1 thousand.
"When you can, go downstairs if possible to gather the other wasps, I will need to speak with everyone." I requested her as walked to the exit.
The queen bowed her head giving her confirmation and returned to check her eggs as I exited the room.
As I stepped into the second floor's entry room, on wich, the shield wasp was still there, waiting on guard.
"You may return to help your queen." I told the wasp.
With another head bow, the shield wasp went into the nest room.
(I told her to gather them when they are done so I think there is still plenty of time, I shall check at least the next 2 floors) I thought while I was looking to the top of the stairs.
"clack clack" I stepped slowly, walking to the third floor.
