《Parrotise》4 - Toblerone Trap

“Don’t follow through with their plans, Captain Wayfinder. Our criminal profilers can uncover Torra’s identity and they will be able to help you catch him!”
“They” were obviously the class 12s. The 3 most dangerous individuals the agency had ever captured, each hell bent on doing something that could easily destroy the world for some kind of “progress”.
“I’m very sorry captain Newmann but your criminal profilers said very clearly that they are unlikely to be particularly useful because Torra is completely unlike anyone or anything they have ever seen.”
“She’s right cap. We’re no good with that guy. We’d probably just end up leading y’all astray,” Captain Newman’s head profiler shrugged, unflinching as Captain Newman glared daggers at him.
“Even if he’s useless, the class 12s are way too dangerous. What if this is part of some elaborate escape plan!”
“Trust me, Torra being put down as a class 13 means they will work with us to bring him in. Their pride is on the line and they care a lot about that,” Captain Wayfinder had been trying to reassure Captain Newman for nearly an hour.
“And besides? How is shutting down Toblerone going to get them out of their cells?”
That was the critical question.
After showing the class 12s pictures of the scene and giving them operation of a remote drone under her supervision they found a small piece of aluminum wrapper that, after analysis, revealed itself to be a toblerone chocolate wrapper.
“What do you think Sally? Is that his quirk?” Wayfinder’s father asked the woman in the cell furthest from him.
“Perhaps. But there are a few kinds of toblerone chocolates so before jumping to conclusions we should figure out which one, specifically, is he addicted to”
“Why are you sure he must be addicted to something?” Captain Wayfinder was initially confused.

“Because that’s a consequence of our exceedingly high intellect. Once we become dependent on something, it feels like a piece of our soul is missing when it is gone,” the old man in the middle cell snorted.
That conversation led to the current situation where Captain Wayfinder was about to request a full recall of toblerone, worldwide.
Then, they would go to the few places that were still illegally selling it or had stock left over to try and lay a trap for him. If Torra was truly that addicted to Toblerone chocolate, he would come. And for once, they would battle him on their turf, where they were prepared.
“Also daughter, you should probably adopt a parrot. Studying birds might help you understand him better.”
That seemed like a pretty obvious thing she should have done but somehow she hadn’t thought of it sooner.
They didn’t have any ornithologists in their team. Onboarding one would be ideal.
Identifying Torra as a Class 13 had solved their funding issues so they had the cash for it now. But should she really be grateful that he was so elusive?
Seeing how adamant Captain Wayfinder was on her Toblerone Trap, Captain Newman eventually acquiesced. What’s the worst that could happen anyways?
…
See, I never made a mistake in cleaning up after my quirk, never. So I have no idea how those class 12s deduced that I was addicted to Toblerone. Perhaps, fortunately for me, I am not a class 12 myself but they used their knowledge of themselves to analyze me.
As the first and only class 13, I had one upped them in my calamity ranking, so I naturally one upped them in the addiction category too. I had 2 things I was addicted to, Toblerone being one of them.

But unlike the class 12s, who were dependent on just one thing to fulfill their emotional needs, my quirks were interchangeable. And the second thing I was addicted to wasn’t a product of human ingenuity!
But once I knew they were setting up a Toblerone trap for me, I was strangely excited. Unfortunately, the result of that trap was rather anticlimactic.

Not Another Isekai RPG Story Alternate
The story ends at Alternate Route Finale. Ch 2-2 and on can be treated as Extra Chapters. I still hadn't edited that one and it's low on priority. I may come back to it if I'm in the mood. Most of the portions of the story will NOT focus on the skills, stats, grinding or battles. More about the dialogues (or the internal monologues) and the MC interacting with the world (or glitching, if you name it.). ... With parts of his memory lost, Takeshi, a 25-year old lazy office worker was transported to a game world. Using his casual knowledge on video-game mechanics, join Takeshi's journey as he discover more about the world, his companions and himself. (only if you're interested though.) My personal review: from ch-2 on expect a lot of perversion going on. It can be pretty weird, like the MC want to be a girl and Y*ri other girls, Fut*nari folks, Traps, the mention of t*ntacle monsters and some lulzy display (like shoving a morning star up someone's b*tthole in retaliation). In here, the MC will discover new things as he kept on exploring and trying different stuff. This story will mostly be character-driven. Explanations about the world and its mechanics was kept to a minimum. The MC's on the shameless side with not much real-life common sense (maybe) and he's (probably) not righteous at all. The other characters can be pretty weird as well. It won't focus on romance. Well that's about it.

8 171A God's Champion
James was an Operator who had the misfortune to die in battle. Instead of his soul moving on to his just reward, it is intercepted, and James finds himself on a new mission. Asked to be the Champion for Ignatius, God of Embers, he finds himself in a different world, fighting impossible creatures and trying to survive. Their lives now depend on his completing the Challenge and ranking in the top 500. But the odds are stacked against him, and he was a better operator than a swordsman. Chapters released Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 12:30 Warning: After Chapter 11, the MC undergoes a significant change of class and race. This is due to a couple of factors. The first is that when the MC was created, James didn't know what he was doing, so he picked what he thought would work. The second reason is that he had access to more information to game the system a little. The premise is like when you buy a new video game and decide to play it without RTFM. After creating a great character and making it to the end of the first act, you realize that, although your character may be kewl, it is gimped and will not survive until the end of the game. Going back to the start, you create a new character with the knowledge you gained from playing the game and perhaps, peeking at the manual.
