"That's not too bad. I don't know how accurate the ratings are, though. Levels aren't displayed for each realm."
"Then again, there are only nine levels in each realm, so making estimations shouldn't be too hard."
I looked at my STATUS before I left my quarters. Quarters where I lived alone ever since the age of twelve after I convinced my parents. It wasn't far from the family house, so my sister and mother were able to visit me whenever they wished to.
Compared to regular households, The Genjo clan worked a bit peculiarly.
Our primary profession as exorcists has been passed down for a few centuries now. We already had a few mystical techniques before the age of cultivation ultimately descended.
What is called the "age of cultivation" is not really the advent of martial skills and techniques like in those Chinese fantasies. No, the age of cultivation in our world referred to the events that took place during the 19th century.
In the year 1811, the world was introduced to the energy called Mana. The Heavenly Dao spoke to almost every animal. Only a few chosen humans were blessed or baptized with insights. When the feudal lords noticed how the beasts ran rampant, and the recluses from ancient households like ours gained power, they panicked.
It was only thanks to the Samurai that they were able to control and end the chaos provoked by the advent of practitioners. Comparable events took place around the globe before the governments rallied and formed what we call the "Modern Earth Federation" today.

They slew beasts, confiscated techniques, and knowledge granted by the heavens from miscreants and regulated the cultivation system we have today.
What the Heavenly Dao mostly did was granting insights into the ways of profound energies, magical techniques, enchantments, and mutations.
The government grew greedy, however, in time. After performing experiments on both humans and animals to peer further into the Dao, they couldn't prevent some of them from escaping labs and confinement.
The people called as evil cultivators nowadays aren't really demonic practitioners. The truth of the matter is that our own family possesses a few techniques that could be considered wicked if that were the case.
Before the era of cultivation began, the Onmyoji and priests communicated with ghosts and resentful animals' spirits to cast spells. My own family specialized in the arts of occult fire, cosmology, and necromancy.
No, those labeled as evil practitioners and monsters are those who refuse to swear allegiance to the governments. Evil mounts and fiends roam around the different countries, but only those that don't conform to regulations are seen as threats. In other words, those that live freely, attack or eat humans, or don't respond to their call.
I could have kept ruminating about the cupidity and self-indulgence of the intergalactic governments. But I decided to stop there; I had reached my destination.
The problems they caused for rogue cultivators weren't my immediate concern. The privileged group of people I belonged to had managed to keep what they had gained those years. Gains that I wouldn't be able to peer into if I didn't snap out from the famous reputation I created for myself.
I couldn't claim to have become an overnight genius. Despite the progress I made in Naruto, most of my clansmen were still too strong.
The cultivation realms known so far were divided in nine:

-Body Refinement Realm
-Mana Contact Realm
-Liquid Mana Realm
-Master Realm
-Grandmaster Realm
-Earth Realm
-Heaven Pass Realm
-Mythical Realm
-Saint Realm
The most substantial expert in the family was my grandfather, with his Heaven Pass cultivation. My father and some elders were at the Earth Realm, according to rumors.
I would have to be cautious and orderly about the changes that I would show soon and after returning from my military duties. Duties, I couldn't call off because I was already drafted. There was nothing I could do about it.
Showing confidence and mental changes would help me in that endeavor. My father and the rest of the elders would probably take better the results I was about to show after being deployed to the border.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
