《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 86 - Trial

“Light dragonoid Alicia, ex-Queen of Entan, the being of the blood and healing mist, a being which has lived for more than ten thousand years, what right do you have to be back?” Nine voices said in unison.
During that scene, in a dark room which Alicia and I were in, lights appeared as was revealed to be eight wooden pillars, all with a chair which we had to look up to see. There sat what I expected to be the nine elementals.
Based on their name, there are nine dragonoids each of a different source which governed Entan. All of them were powerful based on their aura, but they also were old based on their voice, all except one.
I couldn’t see the dragonoid as he was covered with a grey robe, and he was smiling. I’m not sure what was happening other than a fair trial, where Alicia and I could fight our own case, but based on what she’s already done, it’s almost impossible.
“Thank you nine elementals,” Alicia walked forward a few steps. “You see I have come back for two reasons, pay my homages in five hundred years, before leaving and training my disciple in Entan,”
“Lies!!” One of them said.
“Preposterous,”
“A demon?” Each pause, the voice changed.
“Why would you defy the taboo?”
Alicia opened her mouth. “Dysan, a name that sounds familiar, does it not?” They nodded. “A higher being has told me about his return, the demon right in front of you Dyestral, has been tasked by the same entity to defeat him,”
Again, the voices began. “Why should we believe you?”
“A traitor,”
“A liar.”
“Like the one you just told us,”
“Why do you wish to train him here when Entan is just a portion of what Antrite is!!”

“And a demon can find a new mentor in Antral,” The first voice was heard again, they seemed to speak in a certain order.
“So why bring this beast!”
“Because if you realized, Dysan could not come here, only dragonoids with enough power can open or close the gate to this world, not only that, but Dyestral would’ve told me if he was here as well,”
I nodded my head.
“So, what does this mean?”
“Why would you still come here?”
“How long would you train him?”
“Why should we let you go for violating a taboo rule,”
“Allowing someone with a mind other than a dragonoid to step foot it Entan?”
“Because, the rules don’t specify towards Dyestral, it only says Spirits, Humans, Beasteals and Demons, which doesn’t apply to him,”
“You said he was a demon,”
“And if he’s not, then what is he?”
Alicia grinned. “He is a hybrid of a human and a demon, now if I remember correctly, the sacred texts didn’t specify that did they, as long as I call and address my student as a hybrid and not just a demon or human, we should be fine,”
“Liar!”
“An excuse,”
“We’ve worked under these rules for centuries,”
“Which I helped come up with!” Alicia addressed. “Because I’m an immortal being, I don’t age, can’t die, and somehow I can remember everything that has ever happened. I’m not asking for any protection, but the first ruler of Entan stated that hybrids would be left out! As they were wiped out with the war, which I was apart of and was then when the rules were set in stone,”
“That matters not!”
“You could just lie!”
“That is unless you are telling the truth,”

“No sweat, no fluctuation in her aura, nothing, she’s telling the truth,”
“Or lying through her teeth!”
“We can’t tell,”
“Oh please,” Alicia interjected. “You look at the first archives of the first generation, which should’ve been stored properly and look at the one that is titled ‘An undying knowledge’,”
The middle dragonoid was then handed a scroll, which he opened, and they all began to read.
“I am ending my lifespan,” Alicia began to smile.
“I was the first king of Dragos,”
“Helping it flourish after the ten-thousand-year war,”
“I was on the battlefield when a bolt of all colours struck me,”
“And I could then only use fire,”
“A son that I had with a human also died right by my side,”
“Whatever was happening, it also killed everyone who was of two different species,”
“Hundreds of people didn’t survive that strike of lightning, taking away our sources of energy so we could only use only a handful of elements,”
“But us dragonoids found a rip in Antrite,”
“Similar to a demon portal,”
“And only us Dragonoids could use it,”
“We named the world on the other side Dragos,”
“And with the help of my three friends, I helped rebuild what we had lost,”
“A society made up of pure dragonoids,”
“Afterwards, we made rules that would become taboo,”
“One, the ruler would rule for their lifetime, and the next ruler would be a vote,”
“Two, the dragonoids are free to roam Dragos as they see fit,
“but the entire world is still under the same country,”
“if there is a new country that has come to our knowledge,”
either reason with it, and if that doesn’t work out, destroy it,”
“Finally, only dragonoids and hybrids are allowed in Dragos,”
“I’m not sure why, but we didn’t set that in stone,”
“The reason being is that they all died off,”
“My son Asche, with my human wife Hildagard,”
“I miss them both, and I hope that people like my son,”
“Might still be alive,”
“And if they are brought here or are part dragonoid,”
“I hope that they can roam Dragos like we once did,”
“Signed - Sonne, the first dragonoid king,”
There was silence in the room for a long time; the nine elementals were trying to reason with themselves about what they should do. Finally, the one who had the scroll, two seats to the right rolled it up, and a dragonoid cloaked in black robes was handed the scroll and vanished.
“Very well,” Again, the person sitting in the middle began to speak.
“We have decided.”
“That you have not committed taboo,”
“Feel free to use Entan to train your disciple,”
“We will hope to aid you in your cause, Alicia,”
She bowed, and so did I.
“Thank you for this pardon; we shall be staying in Entan a little bit longer before going on our way, now follow me Dyestral,”
Alicia began to walk away, and I followed suit. I put my hood again and treaded behind her. I’m not sure what Alicia was planning, but one thing was for sure, it was devious in her own remark, and I couldn't say no to her plan, as I am only a student to the teacher, something that couldn’t be overruled.

Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!
8 228Chasing The Master
Zhang Cai, named Zhang by the streets and Cai by his master, embarks on a long and meaningful quest after his master's shadow to learn more about the world and himself, both as a human and as a cultivator. Another story I had in mind for sometime. I've been trying my hands at many different genres and art mediums, so this is my serious attempt to culminate the wisdom of them all into something that I can say I need to do. Please do enjoy. 8 100The Nomad: A Starforged ttrpg Playthrough
Life in The Forge is rarely fun, least of all when you've got an AI that wants to turn you over to the authorities, a stolen ship full of creepy cult shit, and you've pissed off the only guy in the Devil's Helix who doesn't want you dead through sheer incompetence. Unfortunately for Ash, worst courier in the helix, that's his day-to-day. When he gets offered an opportunity to get back into this boss's good graces (and finally get something decent to eat), Ash jumps at the chance, even if that means getting tangled back up with figures he'd rather leave in the past. This is a solo play log of Shawn Tomkin's ttrpg Starforged, as such, even I don't know what's going to happen next! Enjoy the ride!
