《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 87 - Plan

Alicia had made her way into the library in the castle; it was stacked with books. I looked underneath my cloak, to see that I still had Kirigaya’s book stuck to my belt. Alicia turned her head towards me and placed her hand out, I took off the book, and she handed it to the librarian.
“Into the forbidden section, only for my disciple and me to open it,” Alicia explained.
“Please place a piece of your blood onto the parchment,” The librarian took out a long piece of paper enough to wrap the book around what I guessed three times.
Alicia created a dagger out of light and slit the palm of her hand, the blood spilling onto the parchment. I came up and bit my lip, making the blood spill onto the parchment as well, it wasn’t as much as Alicia, but I believed by her face, it was enough.
The librarian rolled the book into the paper, placed a wax seal and stamped it, putting a massive F in the middle, before chaining it up. She walked away and told Alicia to find what she wants and get out. Even after being pardoned, most of the dragonoid race seemed to dislike Alica.
I wondered what else she did other than killing a late king and committing some treason. What could cause such hate over these ten thousand years? I bet that I could find out what in these textbooks, but that wasn’t why we were here.
It was to find a map of some sort; I’m not sure why, but Alicia explained it would be easier that way. I sat down on a table with nothing on it, and I closed my eyes, thinking. Kirigaya began to talk inside my mind, so I began to reply.
“So we’re in Dragos?” Kirigaya asked.
“Entan it is called now, and yes, we’re in the world of dragonoids,”
“We’re in the main city, Enen at the moment,”
“Why is it called that?” I asked Kirigaya.
“Because the rest of the world has major elemental struggles, waves, hurricanes, lava most of the surface of the world is full of natural disasters that never end,”

I nodded. “So that’s why Alicia needs a map,”
“Indeed, you don’t know what has happened in a few hundred years,”
I opened my eyes and saw someone sitting there; his aura was the same one I noticed in the court. He was a dragonoid that looked my age, although probably three to four times older than me, he had a variety of light blue scales, and began to talk to me.
“...It’s like looking in a museum,” He said.
“You’ve never seen one alive?”
“A human and demon combined, it’s quite interesting, named Zykl,” He opened his hand for a shake, which I did so.
“Dyestral Blutrot,”
“Hey what happened to your arm and eye? I thought demons could regenerate anything if they were powerful enough,”
“Either the amount of damage to the area is consistent for the right amount of time, or for my arm, something to do with what we vampires call the ancient bloods,”
“Are they your ancestors or?”
“Basically, I sacrificed my arm once, and on my second time, I didn’t get it back, but at least I have what summons a chain on my stump,” A chain appeared and began to move before it disappeared.
“Wow,”
“You’re quite young to be apart of the nine elementals I presume?”
“Yes you are correct Dyestral, but that is because of my skills, which I got from my great grandmother,”
“Wait, you wouldn’t add that information if I didn’t know who it was, and since I only know one dragonoid that means,”
“I’m related to Alicia, and I hope to speak to her as well,”
“Her eggs did survive the creation of this crater, at least that's what she told me,”
“Yeah yeah, but since she is shunned, so was I,”
“Well I do hope that you can forgive her, she is a nice person,”
“I know, but hey, you’re getting some bad eyes around here,”
“I already had noticed, yeah I’m a specialty but also cheated the system with your ancient rules,”
It was then when a massive earth dragonoid placed his arm on my shoulder.

“So this is the hybrid that the rumours say, doesn’t look so strong to me,”
“If you want to attack me now, do it, I’m still recovering from my fight,”
“So be it,” I felt the dragonoid raise his other arm, before hearing him being covered in ice, which froze him in place.
“Should’ve done it faster,” The dragonoid began to topple over, making a massive thud. “Don’t worry, that’ll melt, just saying I could’ve made it much worse for you,”
“That was amazing,” Zykl responded. “Tell me, what did you have to face to be so weakened?”
“Ever heard of the latest king of Onsice?”
Zykl shook his head. “Not a clue,”
“He was quite powerful, somehow killing a spirit and absorbing its power which was used on me, I had to destroy him by basically slamming him into the ground so hard that it split open,”
“That is some power, say, how about we get something to eat?” Zykl insisted.
“One moment,” I ran to find Alicia and told her I was going to find something to eat with a dragonoid.
She responded to meet back at the library when it’s over. I agreed, and Zykl and I went out of the library and took to the skies. Right above Enan, there were massive flying rocks, which seemed to be a natural rock at the bottom which defies gravity, they could range from a side stall being placed on to where you could put a small castle on top of it.
He gave me some street food which I enjoyed. It was some roasted meat with different vegetables, and the first time I tried it, cheese, all wrapped with some bread and served. Zykl had the same thing before we began to browse certain stores. Since Alicia and I would be travelling throughout Entan, I didn’t want anything to distract me or grow accustomed to, but my craving for historical knowledge was immense.
Zykl bought me a book titled ‘The shrines of Entan’, it was a book about two hundred pages long and had information about the history about the different shrines that Alicia and I would visit to train me.
It was interesting, and I put it into the leather pouch which held Kirigaya’s book. The two of us flew around for a moment, some children asking if they could touch me, I happily agreed, since no one had seen someone like me in ages.
After a while, Zykl and I rested on top of a larger sky island, which held a numerous amount of side stalls, all selling different kinds of food. I was full, and so was he, I asked if he had visited any of those shrines that were in the book he had gotten me, he said that he had, one of them.
“It’s in a place where many major cyclones cause chaos, whoever lives there can control the winds in various ways, blocking the cyclones before they destroy it,”
“How long did you train there for?” I asked Zykl.
“Fifteen years, I mastered everything, and I mastered it so well that I was able to join the nine elementals when the one who was an air dragonoid died,”
“I see, did you plan an assassination attempt?”
“No no, I trained under him in a different art until he died, that was seven years ago,”
“I see, but based on how much stronger I need to become, why don’t we have a mock battle?”
“I was hoping that you would say that!”
Zykl opened his wings and began to fly, telling me that he knew a spot that was perfect for it. I opened my wings and followed suit. I’m not sure why I wanted to fight, but something intrigued me about Zykl.
His ancestor is Alicia; he mastered an art which could take decades to perfect. And was a member of the nine elementals, which all are quite strong, but all of them except Zykl are old. I’m pretty sure he isn’t the strongest dragonoid in Enta, but I could sense he was strong, and this battle would surely be a blast.
