《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 27 - Week/ A story of Shirni's ancient past.

In an ancient elven wood, somewhere in Antrite, during the war of the four legions, and a small-time after Drundon split the energy source to the nine elements. The war became shambles due to that, and the spirits also made it harder for the fight to keep going. The silent elven group, the dark bows were chasing down a specific enemy.
The dark elf Shinri was leading her squad against the attacker, as they were jumping from tree to tree, keeping an eye out for the enemy. Shinri was leading the group, keeping her elf eyes open, focusing on where the escapee was going.
After no longer than a minute, she had located the enemy. A single Dragonoid, hidden underneath a cape, but with its tail fully showing. Its colour was blood red and based on the way it was running, probably a female at that.
"Group, I've located target found, follow me," Shinri shouted.
All the elves in the squad nodded, not daring to go against their leader's command. Another thing Shinri was known for was her cold personality, perfect for an assassination group, she has fought against many beasts and foes and always came out on top, even if she looked lifeless after the battle.
Shinri focused her source of darkness into her legs, now shattering branches whenever she stood a foot and was gaining speed on the dragonoid. The dragonoid did not notice until the very last second when Shinri cut its clothes off, revealing it's pure form.
The Dragonoid gained its footing and was ready to fight. As the rest of the squad appeared behind Shinri, each one knew who this Dragonoid was, some shivering in fear. Scales that were as red as a crimson moon, eyes as yellow as the sun, wings as white as snow. She was the Dragonoid of the blood mist, Alicia.
She was known for burning the skin off her enemies with her source of light and covered in blood that had stained her scales, leaving them the colour of a crimson moon. Knowing how dangerous Alicia was, all the elves backed away, other than Shinri who instead stepped forward.
"Blood mist Alicia, hand over the information and become the prisoner for the human empire!" Shinri yelled at the Dragonoid.
"You can try to pry it out of my cold dead hands," Alica replied, opening her hands creating swords out of light.
"Very well, then." Shinri summoned her incarnate weapon; it appeared as a one-handed battle axe.
Shinri dashed at Alicia, the dragonoid blinding everyone with a bright light and clashed blade with Shinri. The battle went on for minutes on end, just because the two warriors were equally matched in their skills.
It was only then when Shirni's skin turned a bright red, and a cloud of steam erupted from her. Confused at how it happened, it was too late for Alicia. During the confusion, Shinri got ahold of Alicia's wings.

The Dragonoid wings are the pride of their race; it shows scars and might with their size. Everyone knew Alicia's name, as she had no scares to be proud of, but without them, not only could she never fly again, but would also be shunned by her species.
"Please have mercy! I'll give you back the information, I'll tell you anything and everything I know, just please don't tear off my wings!" Alicia pleaded with tears in her eyes.
"You should've given up the first time, Denied," Shirni replied in a cold tone.
After half a second of pulling muscles and bones, Shinri ripped off Alicia's wings, making blood spurt everywhere. The dragonoid started to screech in pain and terror and was now asking the elves to end her suffering. Shinri kicked Alicia so hard that it knocked her out, before rummaging through the bag Alicia was carrying and then walked back to her group.
"Leave her... she'll die of her wounds, we have to get this information back to base," Shinri ordered everyone, while her incarnate weapon disappeared.
"But leader Shirni, what if Alicia of the blood mist doesn't die and returns to the dragonoid tribe, knowing the information!" A young yellow-headed boy elf replied.
"What is your name, new boy?"
"Edaha,"
"Well Edaha, there is one thing you should know-"
Less than a second later, Edahas entire throat was ripped out, and Shirni was holding it. The young elf fell to the ground, his body still twitching.
"-Nobody defies Shinri of the dark forest, ever." She continued.
Shinri and the rest of the squad went back up to the trees and were heading back to their base. About halfway to the base, the group stopped, marvelling at what was in front of them. The entire forest in front of them was burning. Blood-curdling screams of elves and other races were everywhere.
Snapping out of the torment quickly, Shirni took action.
"Everyone! Start using your abilities to put out this fire!" Shinri yelled out.
Her entire group followed her orders and used a very ounce of their being to help stop their home from being destroyed.
"I'm afraid that won't do," A mysterious but familiar voice echoed from inside the fire.
Before Shirni could react, her throat was clasped by the time lord spirit Kirigaya. That was the final memory Shirni gave me, her looking into Kirigaya's amber eyes.
'So that's how Alicia got her soul ability, and I saw a glimpse of Kirigaya's massacre,' I thought.
Right then, I couldn't see anything in Antral. I was being tortured for information; although I didn't have much, the torturer didn't agree. I haven't gotten a blink of sleep due to the pain, but I was guessing the time. I couldn't blink, my eyes were ripped out, hoping that it would make it easier to tell them what they wanted.

The torturer at his meals loudly and snored for a long time. After three meals and a long snoring session without getting tortured, I assumed that was one day. And after twenty-one meals and seven long snoring sessions, I believed that it had been a week since I was captured.
And finally, my body was tired enough, to get some sleep, I had to tell Jododam about what's happened, and that I'm still alive. I woke up in my room in Antrite, not caring about eating or drinking anything for seven days. I ran out of my room to find Jododam. It was dusk in this world, telling me that I didn't have much time before I would begin getting tortured again.
I ran to the same room that I first met Jododam in this body, and he was there. Jododam looked around to see me, his facial expression not changing from his emotionless face. He didn't realize what was happening to me, but he did turn around to hear what I had to say.
"Jododam, Gener is creating artificial chimeras," I panted.
Jododam finally realizing, he rushed to me and held me up. My legs were weakened for not walking for a week, and Jododam looked at me.
"More information, now, we haven't heard from you in a week," Jododam replied quickly.
"Right now, I'm being tortured, I'm not sure, but I think if I experience too much pain, I can't traverse to the opposite world,"
"No about the chimeras,"
"They can mass-produce them somehow; this could create a war between demons if there are enough, I'm not sure if Gener is the mastermind though-,"
I coughed up a lot of blood, Jododam still holding me in place.
"Sorry for your clothes, but I believe that the torturer is starting, tell everyone to get ready now!"
"Understood, thank you Dynestar,"
"And thank you Jododa-"
I had fainted and awoke to a severe amount of pain, screaming due to it. The torturer was, cutting off my right middle finger.
"Oh good, you're awake, are you ready for more extraction," The torturer whispered in my ear, licking his lips.
"You better be ready for your final moments,"
"We'll see," The torturer then punched me in the face, before removing my tongue with a rusty pair of scissors.
Unlike last time, and using all the information I had gained with Shinri, I was ready to escape. When I crossed back to Antral just then, I believe I had achieved another new ability somehow.
Even though I was blind, I could still see something. It was a faint purple, a figure with a white outline. My guess then is that I can now see the soul and the source of a person, and the one in front of me was the torturer.
I looked at myself to see that my source was the colour of an ice blue. Turning my head, I looked at my hand and tried to expel my ice source. Doing this, I saw that a blue ice thread was trickling down at what I guessed, the chain which restricted me. I looked closer, and I saw that the chain was getting brighter with my source, so I started to do it on my other arms and my legs.
After the torture was over for a little while, the torturer sat down and picked something up. I looked at what he was holding and saw that it had the same colour as my source, telling me that they were my eyes.
The torturer put them down and picked something up which I couldn't see. He put it to his mouth and started to slurp. He was eating some sort of noodles, and by his reaction to them, they were hot, so I kept focusing on my chains even more.
After he was done with his breakfast, my plan was ready. Each one of the chains could break at any second due to how cold they were. I was surprised that the torturer hadn't found out about my plan yet; he just picked out what I expected to be a corkscrew and began to talk to me.
"Are you ready to experience another wonderous time?" The torturer asked me.
"Not me, but you will experience that,"
"Don't become so cocky; I'll teach you why you shouldn't…" The torturer stopped talking for a moment.
"Y-your hair, it's changed," He then stuttered.
Hearing those words, I broke out of the chains and grabbed his neck. I put my air source into my hands which then erupted into his neck. By what it sounded like, my source of air has developed into lightning during the week.
The torturer's soul then fell to the ground; I probably knocked him out. I looked around and saw that my eyes were still there. I felt that they were both in separate glass jars. I opened both the jars and put my eyes back into their sockets painfully. After putting them again, I blinked a few times, finally able to see again.
I looked back again to see that the torturer had passed out on the floor. He was a bloated mess, with greasy skin and only so pants on. I came up towards him and wondered. How shall I kill him?

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017].
