《The Demon Child - Awakening》Chapter 5 - A new Awakening

I was shocked to see Frederick was in the other world with me. I thought that maybe Frederick could also have this ability, although that wasn't likely. Knowing Frederick, he would've lost his mind a while ago in this world, and also have told everyone his adventures here. Confused, I tried to ask the fake Frederick some questions.
"Why are you following me?" I asked him, "What do you want with me?"
"It's my job; my boss has asked me to keep an eye on you" Frederick answered with.
"Who is your boss?" I asked Frederick.
"That I cannot answer, Dyne."
My theory was correct, and this man was not Frederick, he was instead a different being. Usually, Frederick would've called me Dye, not Dyne, which was unlike him. The next question then came into my head, so I decided to open my mouth again.
"Are you Frederick?" I asked him, already knowing the answer.
"No, I am not Frederick, I just take the form of who you were angry at last, it's my soul ability" The person responded, putting his right hand on his chest.
"What should I call you then?" I asked him.
"My name is Renagoro, but you can just call me Ren,"
"Well then Ren, why have you only appeared now, when your job was to keep an eye on me,"
"Because you had to awaken a power first, and you have today,"
"What do you mean 'awaken a power'?" I quoted him.
"You have a new elemental source, much more powerful than your source of wind,"
I was overflowed with joy! A new source after so long, I guess taking that beating from Frederick wasn't that bad now. I pushed that joy down and kept a calm attitude, looking at Ren again.

"What source, which one?" I asked Ren, crossing my arms.
"That you'll have to find out for yourself," Ren spoke.
Suddenly I felt the world around me was fading; I was waking up. Before I regained consciousness, I heard seven words from Ren.
"See you soon, and good luck... er." I couldn't make out the final word.
I woke up and saw that I was in the school's resting area, where the injured would be treated. I look around to see to the left of me was a beaten Fredrick laying on a layer of furry hides.
'At least I injured him a bit,' I thought, but most of the injuries were probably from his father scolding him.
I turned to my right side to see my mother was sat down on a chair next to my bed. She looked up and saw that I was awake; her mouth turned into a smile.
"Oh Dyne, I thought you would never wake up," my mother whimpered.
"It's ok mum, I'm here," I put my hand on her head.
"Ah, it seems the boy is awake." The Headmaster'sHeadmaster's voice came from outside a door.
The HeadmasterHeadmaster then entered with an empty cup in his right hand. I look behind him to see that Lance had also come to see me. After Lance came in, two dog-like beasteals came in soon after and went towards Fredericks side. After they caught a glimpse of me with my eyes open, both of the beasteals snarled at me. I looked back and saw that the Headmaster came close to my bedside, he started filling up the glass with tiny pieces of ice, which melted soon after being created, creating a cup of water.
"Dyne, I'm glad to see that you're awake, please forgive me for healing you without your permission," The HeadmasterHeadmaster chuckled.

"Will you knock me out again if I say no, Sir?" I asked the Headmaster.
"Haha, no, and please don't call me sir, Dyne. Instead, you can call me Mr Nadone, or just Headmaster."
As Mr Nadone handed me the cup of water, I felt much better already. I was about to take a sip, but when my lips touched the water, they became fused with the water, I look down to see that the top of the cup was filled with ice. As I finally get my lips off the frozen liquid, I was quite pissed at all the people around me. I turned towards Mr Nadone since he is the only one with the advanced source of ice in the village Daishin.
"Was that a joke to you!" I yelled at Mr Nadone.
"No, that wasn't me, I swear!" Mr Nadone answered, putting his open hands above his head.
"... So if it wasn't you, then who was it?" I asked everyone.
As I look at everyone in the room, examining their sources which I already know off by heart. None of them was lying based on Lance's look, and I didn't see or feel Ren stalking me, even though he didn't have the source of ice.
I then remembered that Ren said something about a new power and this was it.
I grab the chilled water off the table next to me, and I focused intensely on it. The small bits of ice which had almost melted then turned the entire glass of water into ice. Everyone around me was shocked as well. Not only did I have a new source, but it was an advanced source, the advanced source of ice.
"Oh Dyne that amazing, you have a new source, as well as it being advanced already," My mom started to whimper again.
"Well, next time you face Frederick, your gonna be even stronger," Lance chuckled.
"Yeah, I guess so," I replied.
"Well since it seems that your awake, you're excused from the resting area." Mr Nadone uttered.
As I get up from my hospital bed, I saw that Frederick was now awake, slowly sitting up. I was about to leave when I heard a 'Hey punk' from behind me. Fredrick's face was made a scowl, and Using up a lot of his strength, Frederick pointed the finger at me.
"Don't get cocky because you got a new powerful source; I'll still beat you... Dye" Frederick barley wisped out.
"Well, just remember, you'll also have to train quite a bit yourself, " I replied, smiling.
After that, I left the room to go back home with my mum. I was waiting to see what new powers my ice source had.

To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. For You, I Would Forsake The World
This is the story of a person from a desolate and bleak future who dies and reincarnates into a fantasy world of swords and magic and finds meaning in his meaningless existence. -- Notes --- This story is told from multiple povs, I think I've made it obvious when the pov change has happened.- This site doesn't really have a specific tag for it so I'll add it in the synopsis, the romance in this story is incest.- I do all the writing and proofreading, so if you see some mistakes I've missed please point them out.- The beginning is more world-building and setting up the plot and mechanics so don't expect too much action in the first ark.
