《RE: Wisp of the Elves》Chapter 4.3 - Decorative Lighting

My new boss got a really penetrating set of eyes.
Imbued with green light, they reach every corner of me.
You see, he got this evident ‘nesting syndrome’, like people who have to change their furniture every now and then.
But I am not against such people.
Not when the habits they created can penetrate across time and space and influence an undead apparition.
When he put the chains around me as for a necklace, I was worried that I will be a gift for some undead dragon, but he hung me onto one bone pillar and waited.
One minute.
Five minutes.
Then, with a ‘sigh’ (by shrugging his shoulders), he sadly moved me elsewhere.
But I did not fit onto the remaining parts of an ogre skeleton either.
Neither on top of that pile of bones.
In the end, he hung me up in the middle of his ‘room’.
So instead of being a luxurious decoration, I became a crude chandelier. Fortunately my boss never sleeps, which means there is no reason to try turn me off.
And my days became like this.
Surrounded by oversized flies - which for some reason never landed on him - I was watching his daily schedule.
He would be practicing strange sets of moves in the mornings, by moving his arms in certain patterns, and then he would go for a walk.
But I never see an ounce of blood on him when he returns, since he got those ethereal clothes where no stains can be left.
During the rest of the day, he would stand before a wall and seemingly ‘write’ something in there and in the night go out.
Don’t misunderstand me - I always wish to be the light of other people, in their lives, but as a hanging wisp I feel this is below my level.

Plus I got a family now.
Aimon, Dius and Vethela.
So this won’t do.
I tried to learn some tricks in order to escape, but it didn’t work. And I think as a wisp, which harvests energy by circling around a tree, I can’t do anything useful while being motionless.
It was during the 23rd time I saw my boss doing those strange moves that something changed.
During the time I imagined he is doing those moves to the song ‘Eye of the Tiger’.
The adventurers came.

The Dungeon Boss's Favorite Game - A Virmo Story
Kragathor is the final guardian of the world’s deepest dungeon. He is an immortal pinnacle of existence that is otherwise known as an ancient dragon. And he is terribly bored. His sole source of amusement comes from scrying on the adventurer teams that are in the upper levels of his dungeon. Through spying on adventurers, Kragathor hears of a new magic item, called a Virmo, that allows one to project their mind into a fictional world in some sort of grand-scale game. Recognizing these Virmo games as a potential diversion for his endless boredom, he orders a minion to infiltrate the nearby town and acquire some of these games. Once the minion returns, he logs into a game set in a world that runs on the twin magics of ‘science’ and ‘technology’, and embarks on his new journey as Bob, the Level 1 Human with no class. Release Schedule: As I wrap up the end of the first major arc, I will publish the chapters as they're completed. However, as I transition into the next arc, I will go with a two or three times a week release schedule, since I will be splitting time between this story and Chimera. Discord Server

Rise
20 years have passed since the Chaos Energy Quake rippled through the Milky Way Galaxy. During the year-long Quake, Chaos Energy became unusable, rendering much of the galaxy’s technology useless, and preventing Chaotics – beings who possess supernatural abilities – from using their powers. The galaxy has since moved on from the Quake, but to this day no one knows what could have caused it. The only broadly possible hints lie with the woefully few Chaotics born during the Quake, such as the seven Chaotics born on the world of Nimalia, homeworld of the Nimalian Territories. The other galactic civilizations see little correlation between the Quake and those born during it, but now that the seven have reached the age of 20, some Nimalians think they may be able to finally learn exactly what caused the galactic disruption two decades ago…
