《RE: Wisp of the Elves》Chapter 5.0 - True Hero At First Glance

The ground made a slight ‘thump’ as a figure of certain warrior landed on it. If this was a movie, it would be a situation for a product placement about a brand of shoes.
But it’s not, and so fanfics are short of one means of income.
The man in those shoes is sporting purple hair, white & purple outfit and confidence only your adventurers with “Rank A” can have.
Receptionists in the guild would even call him “Esteemed sir” or “Sir Mixion”, and he’s allowed for dinner to choose from the VIP options.
He also gets the VIP seats on wind dragons when flying to another country, there is ‘VIP saloon’ for him in major pubs, and he doesn’t have to wait in a queue when shopping his favorite brand of clothes.
So it’s no wonder that such an adventurer would also have his own group, plus one thing all the warriors should have.
A shining sword.
While usually considered a waste of money, since you could get far more potent enchantments at this price, it is for sure deadly against creatures of a magical origin.
Seeing this man, and his shoes of unidentified brand (contact me for product placement here
), my boss calculated real fast that with the sudden appearance of him, one cleric, one magician and some fillers, he simply can’t take them on.
Abandoning his nest, he did something all apparitions should have done, but never did.
He flew to the ground and left just like that.
“Do you think it’s alive?”
“Must be.”
“No, I meant if it’s not an undead.”
“Hey Marcus, go and take a look at it please.”
At those words, the cleric went on to check up on me. He used the most efficient method, lazily casting a sort of on me, and then probably waiting if I start burning.

Seeing this, I got relieved.
I am pretty sure my allegiance is or , even if my elves are somehow too merciless, so there should be no problems.
And there were not any.
“Good. Let’s take it back with us.”
“How?”
“Simply use on it the restraining cage we had for the ghost here, just adjust it to the lowest level of suppression.”
“Are you sure we shouldn’t pursue that undead guy?”
“Absolutely. We got hired to just check up on him. And since he ran away, and I got a far better mission for us after this, let’s leave it to others.”
Our ‘Rank A’ adventurer Mixion is someone who sees money before duty. As such, this was already his 149th monster he doesn’t want to chase. Since that’s the most time-consuming job.
And as the chains corroded upon the cleric casting the heal back then, I was simply motionless, unmoving.
Figuring out that since they can’t tell a wisp from a lamp, and I may be far more safe not dispelling their theory, I obediently waited till they put me in that cage.
*Zzip*
It got a forcefield or something, just like they said.

Branded
From the second Eluc awoke in this world, he was filled with questions. Why can he not remember his past, what is this White Room, and where the hell should he go? Leaving these unanswered, he could only traverse this world based on his instincts alone. However, Eluc still had one lead: the Brand upon his wrists. Author's Thoughts: I want to return to this story one day, perhaps in a re-write. Ended up writing an entire other novel and now might have the confidence to undertake this to write another story. To anyone even reading this, sorry for the hiatus but thank you for reading this attempt at a story. Beautiful cover image edited from a picture by JR Korpa
