Alrighty then. Time to go meet the Whale!
Gea, the Whale's POV:
(Please excuse the manner this POV is written as it's translated from whale language and it's not an easy achievement to even make it sound sane and seem relatively normal in English^^ - the author, Inga06)
Fly in space it is. Like me. No power I feel yet flies. Impossible it is. Will it stop me deyu? I can't stop. Need to find her. She gone, she is deyu!
It come here, it is. Me don't like it, deyu. Me go. Me do it now! Don't stop me deyu, me can't stop deyu! Me go! You gone!
Alex (Blue)'s POV:
As I was coursing through space thanks to all the charms casted on myself that didn't let me disintegrate yet even in this harsh environment and with the speed of light flight, the whale-like animal didn't stop moving for even a moment. Like I didn't even exist! Here I politely come to greet him and he dares to ignore my very existence!? That is rude, you know? I came out of my way to say hello to my new guest and you just treat me like air? Or rather, like the space around us where there is no air?
Well, excuse me if I'll be impolite as well...
We both came quite close to each other now and I started my greeting with a 6th level spell 'Dark Icicle' made of both water and dark magic, which, if my enemy has bad eyesight and mana sensing abilities, would be easily overlooked with it's color being same as it's surroundings. Let's see how it reacts so I can judge it's power level and skills.
The dark, long dart flew through space closing in on its target...
And it simply bounced off of it's target. Really, it didn't even pierce his skin at all! What's happening here?! This guy is more formidable than I first thought and... did he even notice the attack? Or did he decide to ignore it since it was too weak to hurt him?

...
I could feel a smile etched itself on my face while I became a little interested in this alien species. So, it has strong defences, huh? Let's try something a little more challenging then!
A red light appeared in front of me according to my will and started to grow rapidly, producing more and more light and heat. It grew to the size of about 1/3 of the Whale and suddenly shrunk to become as big as a closed fist. A 9th circle magic spell composed of light and fire mana, compressed to create a huge explosion when used.
...and I sent it at my opponent who seemed unaffected by my actions so far, still going directly towards me. Well, what do you think of this one?
The 'Fiery Lightball' exploded right on it's face, creating a nice spectacle, made me feel I was watching a firecracker show like the ones on Earth, yet this one was way bigger than usual. And...
The Whale swam out right through the middle with the same speed as before.
Nothing?!
...
Ulala~ ...this is becoming more exciting by the second...
And so I started my attacks. Each one stronger than the previous and yet... and yet...
Nothing worked!
-This... is most likely starting to be boring for both od us. - I said that after 5 minutes of gradually strenghtening my magical attacks which... apparently made no difference to the huge mammal, considering the fact that he still swam in my direction with no change whatsowever in his path. And that was starting to seriously annoy me.
-How about we do something different? Since you're this sturdy, I'm pretty sure that I can skip a few of my less powerful spells and use one of a little higher tier instead. How about tier I Flaming Comet? I want to see if that will make you react, big guy.

Spells on Earth were generally considered as strong the higher numer was attacjed to it. The thing is... The books on the The Tower, and that Mountain too, had so mamy charms inside of them, that IT was made into another category other than circles - and that was tiers. Event similar spells, when adding an additional tier to them, would suddenly become at least 10 times stronger!
-Prepare yourself, black fatty, for I shall show you more of my power! - after saying that I launched Flaming Comet at the Bugs guy. A huge meteorite materialized itself from my magic and flew straight at the black skin of his. And...
...
...
For real? Still nothing?! Wow!
Well them, let's go for tier 2!
-Here we go, "Mass of Water", go and destroy it!
...ok, he's kinda resistant. But see this:
-Tier 3, "Absolute Zero!" Freeze him!
...it did not. But let's not be discouraged! I have way more to show you Big Whaly! What should I use next? Since he's not affected at all... Then...
Tier 5!
...nothing.
Tier 6!
...nothing.
Tier 8...
...tier...
...
...
Nothing works... does that mean.. that I can't win...
...
...
...that easily?
Hehe. Hehehe. Huhu. Great! Finally a good opponent after so long! Yeeah! Huhuhu. What should I launch next? Which charm should I throw at the huge guy?
I have so many more spells I can test on this guy!
...
I tried my best. Finally, after who knows how long(why should I care about time when I can have some fun after so long?!) and a few breaks to eat some chocolate, when the huge guy was getting dangerously close to me, something did happen. The whale, even if only a little bit, slowed down! Yes! I knew it should start to take effect at some point, and now is the beginning of the 'Journey of Death' for you, Whaly!
Every new spell slowed him down more and more and the animal started to have some reaction, apparently crying out some frustrated and angry sounds I couldn't understand. Soon after, my charms stopped his movements and even started to push him back! Well, just a little bit more and I can defeat him and go home already!
??? POV:
There was something our dear Alexander didn't know. And that is... That the big animal was part of a rare and almost extinct race of Black Space Whales - species, which were completely and absolutely magic-resistant. Their body even absorbed it as nutrition but as they could not digest a lot of it at once, most of it was instead released into the atmosphere around them as mana particles, thus enriching their environment in magic power. And each spell Alex used only made the huge animal stronger... And stronger... Any and all of his attempts to stop the guy kept on failing. The only thing his attacks really did was stop his advance towards Earth. But... no matter what hit him, the animal never stopped trying to move forward...
......
(How did it end, you'd like to ask? Shhhh. For the time being, it's a secret. You'll know why in future chapters. No spoilers! *wink* -the author, Inga06, also known as ???---} the narrator)

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet!
