《A New Light In Interria》Chapter 16: Conflicts

I hastily collected the flakes that were scattered all over the room and put them in a small bag in my backpack. Then I turned to Veene.
"My arm just now was a transformation skill. You don't have to worry." I tried to look calm as I spoke.
"Of course, Mr. Hades." The girl answered bluntly.
"And just then when I was in the bathroom, I saw bloodstains. Is it you?" I ask.
"Mr. Hades, that's...it's..." The girl hesitated.
"Just tell me, Veene. Whatever it is, I won't blame you." I pat her head.
"I just don't want you to get worried."
Saying that Veene turned around, took off her shirt, and revealed 3-4 long overlapping scars that were still on her back and a bruise. One of them had healed and faded while the others appeared to have been lightly washed by water.
"Probably from the Legions. Those bastards." I thought to myself.
"Mr. Hades, you don't need to worry too much. I've already washed the wound with water, so it'll be fine in a few days." The girl said while putting her shirt back on.
"That won't be enough. I won't be able to rest easy if you happen to have an infection. Do you remember the Drain Touch skill?"
"Yes, Mr. Hades." She looked at me with a questionable look.
"Then can you use it on me?" I said that as I extended my hand toward her.
"Are you sure, Mr. Hades?" The girl was scared.
"I will be fine. Just do it, your wound healing is more important." I hold the girl's hand.
Veene was silent and cast his skill. Her surroundings began to emit white mana. She absorbed all of her mana, it seemed that things were getting better. I started to feel more tired, my face became paler. But if Veene is okay then fine...

"Arghh.." My mouth suddenly spurted out blood. I covered my mouth with my hand and fell to the ground.
"Mr. Hades, you…are…" She was beginning to panic.
"It's okay, I'm just…" Despite saying that, blood still gushed out of my mouth.
"I need to go find Sophia, she'll know what to do." Saying that she rushed out of the room before I could stop her.
What happened. Menu.

MP has decreased, is it because I used that skill for too long. Damn, I can't even stand up.
"Hades, I hear you're not feeling well. I'll go see what's wrong with you?" Sophia burst into the room and lifted me, with Veene and Puff behind.
"I'm fine, it's just…" I tried to straighten up.
"Overuse mana, right?" Sophia said while she was taking a white potion out of her pocket and giving it to me.
"What is this." I took the potion.
"Drink it. And what the hell is going on here, Veene." She looked at Veene.
I drank the potion, it tasted quite sweet like sugar mixed with water.
"That's because of me, Lord Hades just wanted to heal the wound on my back," Veena said.
"Wound ?" Sophia asked.
"Umm..." Veene stammered.
Sophia sighed, turned Veene around, and untied Veene's shirt revealing the scars on her back.
"Listen, Sophia, can I explain?"
"Tch. Please explain this to me very clearly, Hades. Why are there scars on Veene, otherwise…" Sophia pulled a pistol from her right thigh and pointed it at me.

"Sister Sophia, please listen to my explanation." Veene looked at Sophia and me, tears starting to fall on her rosy cheeks.
"Listen, Sophia. If I was the one who caused this, I wouldn't have come this far." I explain.
"Then who caused it, Hades?" Sophia asked angrily as her finger slowly pull the trigger.
"Sister Sophia, please this is not Mr. Hades' fault. It is the fault of this slave." Veene grabbed Sophia's shirt, knelt on the ground, and removed the cloth from her right arm.
It turned out to be a circular tattoo illuminated by an X.
"Oh, my Morlock. Slave imprint ?" Sophia was stunned.
"Lord Hades saved me from being in prison. I owe him my life so I beg sister Sophia not to kill Mr. Hades." Veene grabbed Sophia by the shirt and knelt on the ground.
"Veene." I stepped closer and reached out to support Veene.
"Mr. Hades, please don't touch me." In response to my heart, Veene jumped back in fear. When she calmed down, she replied shakingly.
"Veene, lie down on the bed, and I'll make the ointment." Sophia sighed then picked up a piece of cloth and gave it to Veene to cover the tattoo on her right arm.
When I think I have understood a bit more about this world, there is still much more to know.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

STAGNANTE: Land of Stagnation
Brogdar's southern continent is known as the Land of Stagnation; rather than deserts and drylands, the land here is filled with harsh steppes. Monsters walk its plains and most nations send criminals who've murdered to die here. These criminals overtime formed clans and tribes that were able to carve an existence out of the massive continent, yet unable to break the flow of the god's minions. To this day, criminals still arrive and pray to join these tribes. And as the boats arrive from the northern nations, Ronin Londer discovers tribeless criminals that aren't able to join right away: Stagnante. The only question he faces now is if he'll survive. Set in the farflung corners of the setting created for STEM: The Topical Dungeon, Stagnante follows Ronin Londer trying to survive the land of stagnation. Monstrous beasts, other stagnante, and even the tribes themselves will stand in his way to finding a new life in this land. This series will release chapters at irregular intervals, with a focus on the story taking "as long as it takes" to be told right.
