《Reborn: Last Chance to Ascend》10. Dungeon 2

Rose chose the doors on the right side of the room. In front of us was a long corridor with few salamanders walking around. We quickly dispatched all of them. I earned from them 487 XP and 890 CE. The fight was super easy as I simply eradicated these further away with my [Focused Death Ligtning], and Rose eliminated these closer to us. We continued our walk through the corridor.
“Wait, there is a treasure chest” Rose pointed at a small stone chest hidden behind a crack in a wall.
‘Ohh, right. It wouldn’t be a proper dungeon without some loot.’
I stretched my arms towards the chest when she suddenly slapped my arm. “You have to check for traps first,” she said before taking a shining red crystal out of her pocket. She touched a chest with crystal which pulsed one time.
“Now you can open it. But don’t expect something amazing. It’s only the first floor.”
I stretched my arms again and slowly raised a lid. Inside were three silver coins and a red potion.
Rose leaned above my shoulder to look inside. “Three point six. Not great, not terrible. That’s a value in silver coins of stuff we found. We will split loot when we return.”
I nodded in agreement as I had no mood to haggle with loot now. We jogged through the now emptied corridor. In front of us was another room. This one was round with one door guarded by two golems opposite of these we entered through. Flame pits again surrounded walls, and one was also in the middle of the room. The moment we entered that room, both golems started to slowly walk towards us.
‘It looks like this room was designated in a way that you can avoid a fight. But I don’t care’ I quickly analysed the situation.
“Rose, stay by me. I will launch a powerful spell.”
“And those until now weren’t powerful?”
I ignored her question and started to cast [Death-Infused Empowered Plasmabomb]. Hundreds of mana begun to collect in my hands. Purple plasma began to surge out of my hand, forming a ball as drops of sweat formed on my whole body. Golems sensed it too, as they speeded up a bit. Rose paled as she took a step backwards. Then I released it, flying towards two golems. A blinding flash came, followed by a system announcement.

[Elemental Penetration]: Its passive skill causing spells to ignore levels of the enemy’s elemental resistance skills equal to the level of skill.
Roses’ eyes went wide when she looked at golems which bodies entirely evaporated. Even though that floor of a dungeon remained without a scratch. I breathed heavily, and my hands still trembled as it was hard to control such an unstable spell.
‘Wow, it really did one hit them even with their massive HP and resistances. If I manage to stabilise it and gain enough mana to fire this regularly… I will be a monster.’
“I knew you are strong but to cast such a spell with your level is truly amazing” Still excited, Rose praised me.
We rested for few minutes before continuing. We walked through another long corridor. Two salamanders blocked our way as two more crawled out of their hiding spots in the crack. We were surrounded.
“Take two in front of us. I will take care of others,” she said as she shouted “[Wind Dash]” and propelled herself towards two salamanders. Where she quickly decapitated both of them with two quick swings of her scythe. As I was still absorbed watching her elegant fighting style, one salamander approached me and released its breath. I quickly moved to the side, but my arm was still caught in flames. Terrible pain surged through my nerves. Enraged, I quickly double jumped towards a salamander in the back, dodging another breath from the other one. I erected my [Astral Claws] and swung them towards my victim. Salamander raised its clawed limb, trying to block my attack. My claws met with his and cleaved through them without any resistance before continuing towards his head. At the same time, I charged [Death Ligtning] in the other hand and released it towards the last salamander.

I looked at my burned hand. I could see a skin slowly regrowing and covering burned flesh. ‘Next time, I need to focus on the fight. This was such a stupid and painful mistake.’
Rose spotted my burned hand. “Wait, I will give you a healing potion”. A bottle of red liquid appeared in her hand before she soaked my injured arm in it. My skin regrew in impossible speed, healing my arm in thirty seconds.

“We can continue. I am healed,” I announced after I absorbed death energy from corpses. Rose nodded, and we both headed towards the last room before a boss. Corridor was already cleared, so we reached it in a minute. This time there were no monsters, only a slate on the wall and locked red metal doors with an engraving of fire doors. My mood quickly dropped as I wanted to gain XP quickly. My companion spotted my distress as she laughed. “Don’t worry. I already know an answer. Before I could even read what was written on a slate, Rose already spoke a solution “Answer is a Fire”. Loud clicked echoed in an empty room as doors unlocked.
“You know, the question is always different, but the answer is always fire” she laughed again.
We approached massive doors and pushed them open. Behind them was a plain empty room with figures similar to golems we met before, only this time there was no stone, only flames. I immediately used [Analyze].

Analyze Blocked
Level of you [Analyze] is too small to identify boss class monsters.
“It might look scary, but it is only the first-floor boss. So it’s relatively weak” Rose dispersed all of my fear.
‘Should I start with my strongest attack?... No, It would leave me tired. It would be better to use it as a finisher.’
Rose immediately shortened her distance from the boss. “[Spectral Throw]” she swung her scythe in the direction of a boss. A spectral version of her scythe flew towards a boss who was agred by us entering a room. I also attacked, casting [Focused Death Ligning]. The purple beam hit the boss directly into his head. It stopped its sprint forming two fireballs in its arms before throwing them towards us. I dodged to the side. Meanwhile, Rose decided to ignore its attack as the purple mint barrier blocked the fireball. “[Wind Dash]” Rose moved in high speed towards a boss. Where she swung her scythe, “[Death Strike]”, the head of her scythe glowed in purple before hitting boss into its chest. I also closed a distance and casted [Death Flame Firebomb]. Ball of black flames hit boss, exploding in its face stunning him for few moments. Flames in boss quickly refilled the gap made by our attacks, but their glow dimmed a little. It swung its flaming fist towards Rose. She backstepped, avoiding attack. This time boss opened his mouth and released a beam of fire towards me. I used [Sky Foothold], jumping far out of its way. Beam tried to follow me as the boss rotated its head, but it soon ran out of power. Rose used this opportunity to get behind the boss and unleashed a fury of swings to its back. A smoke-like substance rose once again out of its injuries and flew to her. I started to run in a circle around a boss charging one lighting attack after another. All of them flew towards a boss, hitting it into limbs, torso and head. Flames from which bosses body was made once again restructured to repair injuries, their glow and heat decreased even more. Meanwhile, Rose kept her melee attacks, avoiding the bosses own mealy attacks. It raised its leg into the air, and Rose immediately backed away with few backsteps. Its leg fell back to the ground. Powerful wave flames unleashed by its stomp burned a radius of few meters. Two more fireballs formed in its arm and flew towards me. I formed my own two [Black Flame Fireball] and threw them towards bosses fireballs. They met in the air with the hissing sound of dousing a flame. My fireballs empowered their counterparts, which flickered out of existence, and continued towards a boss.
I decided to end this fight now as It took a long time already. “Retreat and cower me, I will cast that spell from last time.”
Plasma covered my both hand and started to form a ball between them as Rose retreated towards me. A Bullet hell of fireballs flew on me. Rose jumped into them, tanking them with her barrier. Finally, I had a ball of purple plasma in my hands. I released it in the direction of a boss who tried to dodge for the first time. Then a purple flash came.
