After I finished checking the content of the announcement, I closed it. Immediately after that, another one showed up.

The level of your passive class skill [Elemental Penetration] increased to 2
‘Wow, this first time, I got enough announcements for the system to split them. That...’
“Let’s rest. My barrier is almost gone, and I would bet that your mana is pretty drained too. We will open a treasure chest after a little bit of a rest,” Rose proposed.
I nodded in agreement as I spotted a treasure chest that showed up out of nowhere and decided to check what I can unlock with my CE after my evolution in meantime.

‘All of these are pretty expensive, but most of them looks super useful… I will unlock just fast thinking for now as it looks like the most versatile, and it is cheap. ’

You gained a new skill [Fast Thinking I]
Nothing changed. I started to focus on finding what happened, and suddenly I could feel that everything slowed down a little. Then I stopped focusing, and everything returned to normal. I tried to focus my thoughts again, and the world around me slowed down again.
‘This will be useful.’
We rested 20 more minutes before we decided to check a loot chest. We approached it, and Rose used her red crystal again before signalling me that it was safe. I slowly lifted a lid and looked inside. There were many silver coins, a ring and a wooden wand with simple carvings. My eyes shined in a weak golden glow at the thought of having a magical wand.

Increased spell damage by 10%

I immediately grabbed my new wand and cast [Fireball] to test it. It was a little less draining and easier to form.
“Ehmm, your eyes are glowing.”
“Ohh, sorry, I was just really excited. And by the way, how many floors does this dungeon have?”
“Only three”
We decided to continue, so we put the contents of a chest into inventories and walked towards a staircase that showed up after we defeated a boss. We slowly walked downstairs until rose spotted one step, which was a little bit higher than the others.
“Be careful. It will trigger a trap if we step on it.” Rose skipped it with a small jump. I did the same thing as I thought, ‘I hate traps. I just want to fight and gain XP.’ Soon, orange light of flames showed up, signalling an end of the staircase. We exited the stairs and were on a vast plain from black stone created by the cooling of lava. This floor was one big room. They were occasional rivers from lava with bridges over them. Heat on this floor increase even more compared to the previous one. Groups of monsters roamed a floor. With my enhanced senses, I could distinguish three types of them. One was a bigger version of salamanders with flames on its back. The second one was a flame stone golem. And the third one was some kind of magma slime. I could see only a few dozens of meters far due to thick vapours. I started to grin at the thought of me simply sniping monsters on this floor with my [Focused Death Ligtning]. Normally this would be impossible due to bad visibility and mana consumption of long-range attacks. But with my [??? Astral Eyes] I could see directly energy coming from monsters ignoring any obstacles in the path, and my big mana capacity combined with pauses made it possible for me. Purple lighting immediately gathered around my hands as I fired a purple beam of lighting towards the nearest monster. It survived one hit from me, to my surprise, so I charged second lighting and it finally died. Monsters next to it immediately started to run towards me but, I already fired two more beams of lightning, killing the second monster. The third one was already closing on, but it was too slow as another lightning came killing it in one hit.

Rose stepped out to find more adversaries, but I stopped her almost immediately. “Wait, I will just snipe them all.”
She gave me a questioning look and nodded.
Lighting crackled once more as I fired at the next group of enemies. This time it was a group of two slimes with a golem. Lightning hit a slime, but it survived only for second lighting to finish it. Purple flashes lightened up, surrounding a few more times as other slime died, but golem still tanked a few of my spells. But before it could reach me with its slow speed, it was hit by more purple beams and crumbled.

‘It looks like I will have to make some modification to [Focused Death Ligtning] as it is not one-hitting enemies anymore.’
“This looks so cheap..., but whatever,” Rose murmured quietly.
I took a few minutes of pause to recover lost mana before resuming my slaughter. My lighting kept blasting enemies from a distance while I was hiding behind vapours allowing me to kill them without any fight. This kept for an hour before the floor was finally clear of mobs, and stairs leading towards a boss opened, but at first, I decided to check results.

“I wasn’t expecting you to just snipe all of the dungeon mobs. I don’t even know how you could even see them at that distance with so much smoke in the air. o exploit rules bounding these dungeon mobs… So cheap but effective. Still, you will not gain any real combat experience this way,” Rose holding her head in her hands, said.
“Look at it this way. I gained a pretty good amount of XP and levels with almost no effort. Also when you see opportunity, you have to use it.”
I looked at my CE and found out that I could evolve again. ‘Nah, I have to finish this dungeon first, and I also will unlock something with it first.’
“Let us take a break before heading towards a boss.”

That is until the summoned hero throws a Hail Mary and gets himself transported to a tutorial world before the summoning can be completed. Add in a clumsy goddess and a broken planet and that is just where our story begins... Greetings all, thanks for taking the time to read this. This is my first story here on RRL and it's becomming one of the things I look forward to working on each day. As of June 2020, the story description has been updated (now that the characters have told me what was actually going on this author thought it prudent to update this) . Updates will be sporatic as i have time to juggle real life with writing. You the readers have become an integral part of the story helping to decide how things will progress, so enjoy the story and please leave a review or rating so this author can continue to improve the story. New chapters coming soon with edits to existing ones in process As a side note, I wish I could add a science tag to this. While this is still fiction, I have been incorporating real life scientific theories and explanations for how things could be *plausibly* explained. (No, I will not lecture on these points, but they are added to author notes) ~badw0lf
