《Spread of Chaos》Ch 3 - Introductions

Leon was worried about Ohm Icura's words, but he had no interest in staying in this world. Whatever it takes he plans to get home, and if that meant getting Chaos power, then he would just get Chaos more power than he could possibly use.
The other students, however, were not as determined. If even some of Mr. Icura's words were true, then they could end up risking their lives and still not get to go home. They were high school freshmen, not soldiers. Some of Leon's classmates were ready to take up the offer presented to them, even Jermaine, who Leon felt should have known better.
"Mr. Icura..." Leon had no interest in being the center of attention like billy, but someone had to take real charge here. "Can we have some time to think about it? We just got here, after all."
Ohm Icura and the other robed figures behind him were displeased at the untimely interruption The students, many of them were just about ready to hand over those precious god made tools. It was all he could do not to order them forcibly taken. But that was not an option, not yet.
"Of course, of course, young one. Where are my manners? First introductions, then we shall move this conversation to where the rest of our party awaits. We did not wish to overwhelm you, so only your instructor came to meet your arrival."
Ohm Icura gestures to the shortest figure, a woman barely reaching 5 feet high. She glides forward in the smoothest walk the children of ever seen.
"I am Bahai Suncurio, I will, until we reach the Academy, be your instructor of water." Her voice drops like rain, gently on the children's ears.
Another figure walks forward, the other woman and the tallest of the bunch being just over 6 feet. Somehow she manages to move even more smoothly than Bahai. "Navierre Llarona, I will guide those of you blessed by The Wind."

After her, a stocky male strides forward, the sound of armor clear under his robes. "You brats sure are lucky, you stand in the presence of Jharak Yoor, level 68 knight of Fire!"
The obviously brash man seems disappointed the students don't seem to be in as much awe as he feels he deserves. He looks at their confused faces then moves aside grumbling at the ignorance of the children.
"And I am An'ee Moorzu, deacon of the Lady Light, I look forward to instructing you in the proper ways of submitting yourself to the blessings and mercies of the holiest being and the mistress of order, Lady Light"
Ohm Icura stepped forward, "And I will instruct you in the many uses of the earth beneath your feet. Now then shall we walk and talk, I'm sure you have had a rather eventful day and the morning as barely begun. Follow me if you will."
With that, the very ground under his feet rose up in a four-foot circle and started to glide away, the other instructors follow as though this is nothing extraordinary. The wide-eyed students have no choice but to hurry after, lest they are left behind in these unfamiliar woods.
The walk is tense with the nervous children caught between wanting to ask questions and not wanting to draw individual attention to themselves. Leon tries to digest the information that they have so far been given, but one thing keeps standing out to him. Finding Chris and Lisa, he manages to nonverbally and surreptitiously guide them to the back of the dispirited group.
"Did you two notice what I noticed?" He asked them, keeping an eye out for eavesdroppers.
"You mean the completely other planet we're on or the guy doing magic? cuz, yeah I noticed that!" Chris snaps, but thankfully, quietly.

"I think he means we're missing an instructor..." Lisa interrupts before Chris can get on a roll.
Chris thinks about it for a second before realizing they are right. They might be jumping to conclusions, but there are 5 instructors with five different types of magic but none of them seem to have anything to do with chaos.
"Leon, what do you think it means?" Lisa asks quietly.
"No idea yet, but we may want to watch and listen more than talk for now. Are you guys thinking to stay here and live happily ever after or try to do Chaos' mission and maybe go home?"
"I don't know..." Chris says, "I was gonna join a service after high school anyway, I'm not afraid to fight if someone is teaching me how. And I wanna go home, so yeah, I'm probs gonna try and do my mission."
Leon nods then holds up his hand. "Then you might want to put some blood on your ring if that's what you got from Chaos. I think these guys definitely want whatever their gods gave us if they can get it. What about you Lisa?"
While Chris is remembering Chaos' words and looking for a way to draw blood, Lisa shakes her head, "No way! I don't have much to go back to anyway, not enough to risk my life like that. If these guys are really gonna treat us like royalty, then that sounds like a sweet deal to me!"
Leon knows Lisa is actually an orphan currently living in a group home so he can understand her decision. Chris takes ROTC and has the inclination to at least try something before giving up. He nods his head at Lisa, finding it hard to disagree with her reasoning.
"What about you man?" Chris asks.
"...Lisa, can either Chris or I get your ring? If you're not going to use it then it could help either of us survive, maybe?"
"Huh, I don't know, what does it even do?" Lisa replies.
"Don't know yet, but if we are going to be running around outside in a new word, might be helpful to one of us."
"Well, I don't mind, but which of you gets it?" The kind girl asks.
Leon and Chris look at each other and shrug. Not really concerned, it may be valuable, but it's not a sword, shield or wand like the others are carrying. Lisa shrugs and tosses her ring to Leon.
The unexpected throw causes Leon to fumble and drop the ring.
"But," she says, "If I need it then I want it back, k?"
"No problem," Leon says, picking up the ring and hoping she won't need it.
