Xia dove down at them from the sky. At the last second, June hit the brakes causing her to over shoot the dive. Pulling up and circling back round as she glared down at June. Turning down a road that will lead them into town, June hoped the power lines and building could be used as cover. Tom shot at Xia a few times with his revolver. The one bullet that did hit her just bounced off. She got ready for another pass and came in low to the ground. Trying to set the tries on fire with her flame breath as she flew by, but Tom put out a hand and the flames run round the bike. Xia did a sliding three point landing on the road. Spreading out her wings and arms and blocking the two lane roads. June all most lost control of the bike and came to a stop before hitting the crazy dragon. Xia had a deranged smile as she looked between Tom and June. She started to walk forward, but was hit in the face by a bag of flour. A fire ball rocketed her back and causing her to flip over five or six times. June got the bike turned round and they zoomed down the road. Getting up back to her feet as she began to run and got the airlift to fly after them. June made a left turn onto a new road and found themselves in a neighborhood. Tom was about to get out a flash bang from his backpack, but June passed him one. He grabbed it and stared at her. They were going to have along talk after all this was over. Pulling the pin out with his teeth, but not releasing the safety lever he got ready. He remembered to Look up this time and seen Xia was diving down at them again. He yelled at her as she got close.

"Catch!"
Throwing it up at her and she caught it. Tom was dumbfounded and forgot to look away when the flash grenade went off. Xia lost all control of her flying and flew into a parked car. By the time he could see anything they were all most out of town. A police car was trying to pull them over for speeding. He pulled out a bag of sugar and stared to heating it up. The plastic burned away as small flickering sugar grains shot at the police car and leaving was little burn holes all over it. The front tires popped and there was no way for them to keep up. The police stopped trying to pull them over after two more car ended up the same way and a fourth got its engine destroyed by sand going through the air filter. It was in the middle of nowhere when June had to make a pitstop at a gas station. After pay for the gas and some food Tom asked her when she was filling up the gas tank.
"So, how are you reading my mind?"
She blushed a little.
"I umm, don't know. After last night I have been getting... impressions is a good way to say it, from you."
Thinking about this for a bit and before Tom could ask, June answered him.
"You're hungry and a little annoyed."
He sighed and then an idea hit him.
"Shit, it's all most like your my familiar."
Taking in a breath as smiled she at him. He glared back at her and said.
"No, you can't call me Master!"

Tower of Babel: Speedrunner
Launch day. That was what they called it. The day when over four million people vanished in an instant from the island of Manhattan. The day earthquakes ravaged the east coast. Its doors will soon open, and the great game will begin. A hundred floors and a hundred challenges await the worthy. And to the victor? A Wish of Unlimited Power. Cayden Caros yearned to play that game. His only problem? The Terms and Conditions. A strict set of rules that, among other things, prevented anyone under the age of sixteen from entering the tower. Forced to wait for over two years, Cayden did the only thing he could do to pass the time. He researched, he practiced and he prepared. It would take a lot to catch up to players with such an enormous head start. Lucky for him, he was a special type of gamer. A SpeedRunner So.... It has been a hot minute. I don't like talking about my personal life, but suffice to say I had some fairly bad times for the last couple of years and have only just recently pulled myself back to good health, physically and mentally. I have a very supportive partner, and am put together enough that I want to get back to doing what I love. Writing nerd fiction that I am too embarassed to try to explain when people inevitably ask what my books are about. Still beats when I used to write erotica. Story updates for book 3 should be on a daily schedule, baring unforseen circumstances. The majority of chapters from books one and two have been pulled down to keep with amazon's KU rules. Book one is found here. Book two is found here. If you like the story, please comment or favorite. Each comment goes a long way towards pushing visibility for the story, which means more people get to see it and I feel slightly more validated as a writer. I have a discord now where you can ask me things and I can be like 'no. no. I'm not answering that. no."
