《Curses》30. Electric

As Tyler picks himself off the ground I check the loot, a two-hand hammer. Tyler looks at expectantly. “Hey, can I see that?” Tyler asks while reaching for the hammer. After handing it to him he takes some practice swings and looks at me. “You know what's weird. Ever since I got my new class the sword didn’t feel right. When I saw this hammer though, it all just made sense.”
“Makes sense, most of the giants use hammers. Better for their fighting style or something.”
The hammer wasn’t enchanted, just a high-end tier 1 hammer, but I could feel Tyler’s aura seeping into the weapon. He was right, he is made to use hammers. They perfectly match his aura. Let me explain, everyone who has an aura has an ‘aura weapon’ and an ‘aura armor’. The closer the weapon gets to this aura weapon the better it conducts aura and the same for armor.
Tyler tries out his new weapon on the local population while I watch. The result is explosive. Tyler pops into existence and his shock wave blasts the goblins, same as before. Then his posture changes and swings his hammer down. The goblin explodes. I circulate mana to my eyes to see the aura, it had exploded out of the hammer.
Tyler stands stunned at the power he just showed, letting his guard down as the other 2 goblins get back up. Wordlessly casting {Zip Zap} I take out the goblins as Tyler comes to his senses.
Tyler looks distracted by something. His eyes unfocus as he looks at his stat sheet. He looks at me and asks, “I just unlocked aura.” I facepalm.
I can’t use aura in the slightest, just wasn’t born with any. It always irked me how good he was at using aura. Of course he unlocked it way sooner this time thanks to his class but still how can the universe be so unfair.

Laughing at the thought of Tyler having the unfair advantage compared to literally going back in time. Then I notice that Tyler’s aura is taking the exact shape of the weapon, right in front of me. I take it all back, Tyler has the better class and is probably cheating somehow. Though I don’t think it’s enough to get the skill...
“Hey, I just got a new skill. It’s called {Aura Hammer}, it lets me force my aura out of my hammer. Awesome right?”
I facepalm again. If it had been that easy for my first time I would be a god by now. Wait, could I be a god right now? I’ll have to check that out later. “Congratulations! Are you going to show me this explosive new move?” I ask in a mocking tone.
“Once you check your attitude bub,” Tyler retorts barely containing a small laugh.
Chuckling at Tyler’s joke I watch him slowly swing his hammer into the wall. Right as the hammer slams into the wall, a silent explosion comes out of his hammer making a near-perfect half-sphere in the wall. Tyler then breathes out and sags a little.
I was going to need to step up my game if Tyler was going to be busting out new moves like this. Oh shit, I forgot about a shield spell. That could have been bad if the greatest magic user ever didn’t even use {Mage Armor}. That would have been a PR disaster. Plus it was high time I made a mult spell, a spell that can do more than one thing. I was thinking I could turn {Zip Zap} into something like {Physical Lightning} then make shields out of lightning. That would be awesome and would only take me a couple of minutes, which is what I’ve been doing as Tyler regains his lost aura.

I can’t wait to test out the new and improved spell but Tyler is now sleeping on the floor. I walk over and create a small orb of water and let it land on his face.
“I’m up, I’m up,” Tyler says softly as he blinks his eyes. Laughing I checked my watch, it’s been 3 hours since we entered.
“Come on samurai we got some monster to hunt,” I say while helping him up. “I’ve got a new skill to test.”
“Really another one, dang you’ve been busy.” I can only grin as we quiet down while we start the hunt for a new set of monsters.
When we found the first group I approached them while generating neon blue spears that were made of lightning. The spears ripped through the goblins as they spasmed on the ground. It took 200 mana to kill 3 goblins, that was a lot but it looked pretty cool.
The next group tried to get through a neon blue wall of lightning, it didn’t go as I thought. The shield shattered on the third hit but the broken pieces exploded outwards, instantly killing the goblins. Note to self, don’t make armor with {Physical Lightning} it won’t end well.
