Kaz Snaps

I stood on the stairs looking down at a group of around twenty or so Wizards. They were standing around discussing about the Green Man with none of them even coming close to figuring out what it really was. At some point the Green Man had been taken from Grisha so that they could have a closer look. [ Sigh… ]

Grisha walked up to me. “Everybody is here.” I glanced over at him seeing his hair and cloths a little disheveled from the fight over who would hold and examine the Green Man next. “Though it will be really difficult to get there attention.”

Looking back down at the bickering mob I cursed the ‘Resident’. “Sigh…” The Wizard mob was very engrossed with the creature and had not once looked in my direction since I got here. Looking at a clock on the wall across from me I noticed it read 6:34 am. “@#$%@, Go get Akuji and the twins from the Coven.” The Green man waved a branch and then took off out the door. The Wizards were startled by the creatures sudden actions and stood frozen in place.

“… What did you call it?” Grisha asked in confusion.

Ignoring him I cleared my thought. “Ahem… Attention Wizards!” The Wizards slowly turned towards me confusion clear on their faces. “My name is Kaz and I am the Mayor of this town that you have settled in.” Some murmuring ran through the crowed. “Now I am aware that you did not believe that there was a Mayor of this town however this is because I have been on vacation until yesterday and have not been able to greet you until now. There are a few rules for this town and I have told Grisha here what they are. As such I will have Grisha go over the rules of the town later on.”

“What?” Grashi looked at me startled.

“Right now I have something very different to discuss with all of you. I have heard that there has been some disagreements between you and the witch coven. If possible I would like to find out what it is before the Witches get here…”

“Shut up you fraud!” The man from the front door shouted. He had been treated earlier and was now standing down with the rest of the Wizards. “You have no authority here! Leave!” He went to the front of the room and then turned to address the Wizards. “This man is the one that shot me with lightning! He didn’t even explain what he was doing here! He just up and attacked me!” The crowed glared up at me.

“Is this true Edmund?” Someone asked.

“Of course! He attacked me with lightning when I opened the door to find out who it was! He even went as far as to step on me!” This Edmund Wizard shouted.

[ Imbecilic Wizard. ] Insults and grotesque insinuations were shouted at me. Some even started chanting spells to attack me. Grisha stated panicking. I frowned in annoyance at the turn of events. [ Maybe I should have killed him? ] I wondered as the Wizards had almost completed their spells.

Just then the door opened and Akuji walked in. The silver haired child stopped just behind the crowd of Wizards. I watched as he bowed to me and made his voice ring out through the violent mob.

“Mayor Kaz, you have called for us?” The voice rang clearly over the top of the shouting and chanting making the crowed turn to look at the new intruder. I smiled pleasantly.

“Ah Akuji.” Ali Baba and Baba Yoga walked in behind Akuji and also bowed to me. “Your just in time.” The crowd turned silent. “I have something I wish to discuss with you. Along with theses Wizards here.”

“Is that so.” He looked up at me with an impassive face.

“I have he…”

“What is your kind doing here?!” The nitwit Edmond asked. Akuji stared at him before quietly answering.

“… We have been called here by Mayor Kaz.” The man Edmond was slightly disturbed by Akuji’s stare.

“Th-That is no reason for you to be here! This mayor that you speak of is a fraud!”

“…” Akuji just stood there not deeming the man worthy of a response. Ali Baba was clutching her fists while Baba Yoga held onto her shoulder in a silent gesture for her to hold it in.

I smirked at the seen before me. I could see what was causing the discord and arguments between the two factions. The Wizards were arrogant and knew nothing of the dangers of this town. The Edmond man did not like Akuji’s silence.

“Are you ignoring me?!” His face one of anger. Some of the other Wizards had looks of disgust and superiority. While others just stayed out of it not wanting to be involved in the conflict. Grisha was staying silent throughout this ordeal but obvious worry showed on his face. Edmond took an aggressive step towards Akuji.

This Wizard’s haughty arrogance, self assurance that they were right, and over confidence reminded me so much of my younger days around humans. Their general attitude and combative nature at anything new or different had scorched me many times in the past. It wasn’t until later that I learned how to avoid their destructive and violent behavior by blending in. However here it was directed at Akuji and his witch coven.

I couldn’t take it anymore. “KuhuheheHaHaHaHaHa!” I burst out laughing. Everyone turned to look at me. Ali Baba and Baba Yoga visible paled by my reaction. While Akuji took a step back to get closer to the two.

“What are you laughing at nut job?!”

Finally able to stop laughing a toothy predatory grin appeared on my face. I stared at the deluded man that called himself Edmond. His ignorance of the situation only spurred me on. “Oh my, are you talking about me perhaps?” My eyes locked onto his not letting a single movement go unnoticed. The room was silent. No one dared to move.

“Who else could I be talking to?!” He smirked obviously thinking that his pitiful little insult would get to me.

“Kukuku, Well I wonder.” The words hung in the air. “I had come here to settle all of you into this town and resolve some issues however… I wonder what I should do now?” I tilted my head to the side as I questioned. “Do you have any ideas?” I asked this ignorant conceited man waiting impatiently for the answer that would decide his and the others fate.
