《Blue mage》Chapter 14: War council

Sarah sat in a room with the other 2 leaders still in their alliance. While it was unfortunate that Luke left, it was fine. Luke would still fight in the war and it was obvious that Luke had the superior village to the rest of them. After the war, things might get weird but not having to bend their necks to that little kid would be worth it.
They could just trade with other sectors or with each other instead of him. If things when well they could even gain control of his town if they convinced other sectors to not trade with him. The chances were small with the power that Luke possessed but it was worth a shot. But that was not why they had gathered, they were here to discuss how to fight this war.
"The best way to win while making us look good would be to convince that squad that Luke has to join us," James said for the hundredth time. If only it was that easy Sarah thought also for the hundredth time. Their informants had revealed that two high leveled people had come through Llyn only days before they had gotten there and only one had left. One was a large heavily muscled man with tan skin, grey hair, and wearing a pair of pants. The other was a small woman about 5'4" who had blonde hair and blue eyes wearing clothes similar to pre-system ones. They had tried to get in contact with the one who stayed but Luke blocked each attempt.
Their attempts to find the man had been even worse but in a way better. They had found the general. It was an extremely powerful, extremely tall scaled humanoid as if a large dragon had taken on human form. It hadn't seen the men who first saw it and they lost it soon after, it was quite fast. But they still had an advantage over Luke now.

They had also found battle sites that were most likely where Lukes's squad had fought the captains and this only reaffirmed to the alliance to not directly fight Luke. The absolute wreak they had left behind was enough to scare even the most powerful of the alliance.
The squad Luke had formed a week earlier had already killed 4 captains while the alliance had only killed one. It had been a joint effort on the part of both Sarah's and James's squads to take down a level 26 captain giant. There were 9 level 24 lesser giants and one level 25 giant. It had taken 2 days of hit and runs to get the squad down to a manageable level, by that they mean just the level 26 and level 25. Even that battle had taken over 3 hours and by the end, everyone was injured and felt defeated inside. The squad that Luke had only took two days to defeat one from the start and without their powerhouse.
That only lasted until the level-ups came in. Everyone involved had gained at least 1 level from that last fight alone. That now the alliance was waiting for their scouting squad to find another captain. The room was quiet as the three leaders considered what they should do now. They had almost lost most of their best fighters over the last 3 days fighting that Captain. Should they just fight normal monsters for a bit to level up and hit 25 before trying again?
Sarah spoke up, "We need to hit level 25. From what we've heard from Llyn level 25 evolves your class. If we can just do that fighting those captains and their squads would be much more manageable." Sarah finished while sitting back.
James nodded, "We're all at 24 it shouldn't take long to hit 25. I say we repeat our tactic again. We gain a couple of levels last time just from the level 24s. if we can hit level 25 before fighting the captain it should be a breeze." James also leaned back into his chair.

Samuel spoke up for the first time this meeting, "With the monster parts you got from that last captain we've been able to create more powerful weapons and armor for your squads to use." He then pulled a spear from under the table and they leaned in to look at it. It was a mix of bone and metal the screamed deadly. Somehow Samuel had managed to make an alloy with bone and steel to make something even better.
Sarah gently picked up one of the greatest weapons on the continent. She marveled over the feeling of power that she gained when she picked it up. She then checks her status only to see that her Dexterity and Reaction had gone up by 20. She looks at Samuel with awe. This would be the edge they needed for the next captain.
She looked at James, her face lighting up. "It's time we hunted ourselves another captain."

Sadly some of my skills had hit a cap. I couldn't get them higher than 25 for roar, 50 for my webs, and 75 for my claws. It seemed like I don't meet the requirements to evolve them. I grin, the only way to find out is more hunting.
