《Freedom in the New World》James doesn't die, he is ERASED!

Your base is under Siege!
“David” Champion of Odin has come to slay you.
Bloodlust detected. Emergency quest has been issued. Quest “Kill the Enemy” has been issued. THERE ARE ENTITIES NEARBY THAT INTEND TO MURDER THE 'PLAYER'. SLAY THEM AND ENSURE YOUR SAFETY. IF THIS QUEST IS NOT COMPLETED YOU WILL BE ERASED! Quest “Kill the Enemy” Kill the enemy or suffer the consequences! 0/1 enemies killed
That could not be right. That would have to mean only one person was attacking. Was only one person attacking his base? The world stretched out before him as it loaded in. James was meet with ruble.
Every building was ruble, and when he looked to the interior of the city’s walls, they were scorched black. “This asshole must have used [Nuclear Blast!] to level the city!”
James checked the statuses of the NPC’s. Every city guard and NPC on the surface was dead. Every NPC was more than likely killed by the 10th tier spell, [Nuclear Blast!], being used on them.
James noticed one of the light up names suddenly go out, “Chiron?! He’s on the third floor!” Suddenly he heard a deafening sound, as a great wind erupted from the stairs leading to the lower floors.
James flew at his top speed toward the 3rd floor, while drawing his adamantine Katana from his inventory. “Why didn’t I level them!”
James was furious, both at the situation and himself. His mistake could cost him everything.
James arrived on the third floor to find everything was black. There was an ash that hung in the air obscuring his sight.
“That son of a bitch must have cast [Nuclear Blast] again down here, since he couldn’t burn down the houses, and couldn’t be bothered to tear them down himself.” The spell had destroyed the artificial sky of the floor.
James increased the light his body emitted to its maximum. He held his Katana with both hands, and slowly flew forward wary of surprise attacks for beyond his limited scope of sight.
James had an idea, and he hoped it would work. He opened his base menu to see if the weather warding was still functioning, it was. “That’s what a rod of 10th tier warding gets you!”
James made it rain, with heavy thunder and lightning. It did not take long for the ash to be forced to settle on the ground by the rain. The lightning was near continuous. It struck around him as if to light his path.
Devine Intervention Detected
“Come and see James. Come and meet your end or are you a coward who would run from the battlefield!”
James knew this voice all too well, it was Odin’s voice. James said nothing, so the lightning around him was being influenced by Odin. That was not good.
James advanced faster and faster, as the lightning trailed off ahead of him. That was until it stopped at a glowing, transparent, golden dome over the island in the middle of the floor. There he saw what he could only assume was the singular raider.

He was human by his appearance. He wore no armor, nevertheless he smiled. The smile reminded him of that lord statue and its terrifying Joker like grin. What caught James’ attention the most was the weapon that he held. A long plain spear, its shaft was entirely brown, and its tip appeared to be simple steel.
James almost found it funny, if not for his knowledge of the item, and what this man had done to his base. James knew exactly what that spear was. It was Longinus, the existence eraser.
James set down on the ground and walked across the bridge to the island. As he got closer it seemed that the house was intact under the large golden dome, even the trees were safe.
James stepped through the dome of golden light. Upon a closer look at the man he truly had no armor. A display of his arrogance. His face was that of some famous person he could not place the name of. He probably used this world as an escape. He wore a t-shirt with denim jeans. This was something that James had not expected to see until he reached the New World.
He greeted the man who had razed his base and all within it to the ground. “Hello, am I to assume you are David?”
“I am.” David said with his smug smile.
“David. Sounds like your American?” “I am, I was born in America, but my parents moved to Japan when I was ten. Can I assume you are also American?”
“Yes I am. I was born into a wealthy family. I was very fortunate.” James said his face was blank, he could not show this monster any emotion.
James pointed at the spear, “How?” David simply gave his Joker grin.
Then a voice came, a voice of lightning and thunder.
“Tell him, let it be my parting gift to him.”
James and David both looked to the clouds far above. David then turned to him as the lightning and thunder calmed down. The thunder and lightning seemed to race away from the center of the floor, towards the edges of it. Leaving them in relative quiet.
“My patron Odin, the All father, being the king of Asgard knows exactly where every dungeon is. So, he chose me to become his champion.” David was interrupted by the sound of thundering laughter.
Odin was laughing at both James and David, he felt. He laughed at James because he was about to be erased. He probably was laughing at David because he was the idiot that fell for all Odin’s schemes.
“Anyway, He told me where to go and helped me to grow strong, stronger than any other player. I was even the first person to reach level 100, and not too long ago I got this.” He says while holding out Longinus.
“What did he promise you? You should know what happens if you use that thing!” David turned his head to face James, his creepy grin returned. “When you are gone, he will bring me back, and then I will move on the next base and the next. I will kill all of Odin’s enemies.”

This poor retard. He got taken advantage of by Odin and he does not even know it yet. “Before we get down the business why don’t you try summoning those little pups you call Dire Werewolves!” He honestly bent over and laughed as he pointed at James.
James pulled Fenrir’s Howl up to his lips and blew. He heard no sound and then he saw the cause.
Devine Intervention detected!
Your World Class Item, “Fenrir’s Howl” has been nullified.
“Fenrir’s Howl” has been destroyed!
No sooner had he read it had the horn shattered in his hands and was gone in a flash of light. “You will never bring Ragnarök. Today you will be no more!” Spoke the voice of roaring thunder and cracking lightning that was Odin’s.
“Let us get down to business. I have placed to be, and you have an appointment with death.” David spoke growing weary of the ant and his final futile attempts at resistance.
David cocked back his arm and prepared to throw the spear. James left the ground and raced to close the distance between them. The white and golden light of his blade tinted red with his rage. James’ Katana began to glow like a star as he used, Divine Aspect, to pump the weapon with energy. David throw Longinus at a speed that approached sound.
James had anticipated his throw, so he rolled just as he saw his arm move. Had he moved half a second later he would have been struck. David simply looked annoyed that James had managed to dodge his throw.
David did not even attempt to defend himself as James rocketed toward him. “I have complete immunity to anything under level 6… AHAHAHA!” David screamed as James’ blade slashed through him.
James was very happy when he saw the notice.
Buff “Immunity” is in effect!
Level resistance bypassed.
You have learned the passive skill, “Hand of Death”
Hand of Death- Any weapon you wield bypasses level resistance. Yes, even your hands.
“How?! I am supposed to be immune to all things under level 60!”
The roar of the thunder overhead was deafening. James was struck again and again by lightning as he swung around to launch into another attack. The moment he turned he saw David; it was too late. He had already thrown the spear.
A second later James felt the spear pierce him, he felt as if his ribs had been shattered, and he had his chest run over and then the world was black. He was floating, he had been kicked from the main game, but he was still logged in. The pain was gone as fast as it had come.
James looked around him and there no more than a dozen feet from him was David smiling with his hands behind his head, with his legs straight and spread.
(Imagine what an astronaut looks like in space doing that, and there you go.)
David put forth both his hands, on hand flashing the peace sign and the other flipping James the bird. He flipped him off. He laughed all the while.
In a flash of light, he was gone.
James could not believe it Odin really did what he said he would.
James was beyond FURIOUS!
He COULD NOT ACCEPT this!
He WOULD NOT ACCEPT this!
He REFUSED!
He REJECTED this outcome!
He had WORKED TOO HARD!
If this were the end, he had FAILED in ways words could not describe.
Rage coursed through him and built up within him to the boiling point.
Before he knew it, a hand reached out of the darkness and grasped his shoulder.
He spoke, his voice was his but not.
“I REGECT!”

James turned to the stunned human before him who was frozen as his mind struggled to comprehend how he was back.
James pulled out Longinus, he turned his aura of fear on and emptied his mana pool, then he flew at the speed of sound cocking back his arm and throwing the spear using his speed to make sure that David would fell all the pain that he had inflicted onto him and all the NPC’s he had slain.
David blinked from existence as James made impact into the ground, passing through the space where David had been not a second earlier.
You are Bound to the World Class Item, “Longinus”

James liked how a little timer had started counting down to when Longinus would come back to him.

Tales From the Terran Republic
We tried, you know… We really did. We tried so hard to be… better… We actually were better once. No, seriously. We were enlightened, generous, peaceful… Stop laughing! We were! We were peaceful, dammit! No, I’m not “tugging your winglets.” It’s true! Look, if you’re going to be like that, I’ll just push the launch button right now. See ya, don’t wanna be… Oh, you ARE interested after all? Ok. Hey, I just got word that your captain will be ok. We were able to get him into a med pod quick enough… Of course, we tried to save him. Just what sort of people do you think we are?... Now that was harsh… completely accurate, mind you… but harsh. Anyway, like I was saying, we were a prosperous, peaceful people, and war had been nothing but a distant memory for over five hundred years before it happened... Before Yellowstone happened! You don’t mean to tell me that you didn’t know about that… massive supervolcano? Blew the Hell out of our planet? Two years where nothing grew?… Anyway, that’s what started it, the Sol Wars… Oh, you have heard about those, huh? Well, needless to say, all that enlightened, generous, and peaceful didn’t exactly make it through the two years of complete famine and the wars that followed… Maybe it’s more accurate to say the enlightened, generous, and peaceful among us didn’t survive… (laughs)… You’re right. It does explain a lot, doesn’t it? Probably for the best, though. “Enlightened” and “peaceful” aren’t really all that useful out here in the galaxy at large, are they? That reminds me; thanks for the ship. You guys did a great job with this one. Oh, don’t be like that. At least it was us what got you and not one of the really messed groups like the Harlequin or the Black Angels. We’re just going to take your shit. It could be worse… trust me... Well, anyway, we loaded the life pods down with some good food, and you guys can drink alcohol, right? We put in a couple of fifths in there, too. It’s about forty percent ethanol, so be warned. Most species will want to dilute that. We’ll drop your wounded off somewhere safe once they are stable. Your fleet patrols this area fairly regularly, and we’ll drop the distress beacon right before we jump… Well, It’s been fun and no hard feelings, right?… Oh, you want to know some more? Sure. I got time to kill… Let me tell you about this one pirate and her crew. They’re Terran scum, but they are still… Why do we hate the Terrans? Hoo Boy… How much time you got? *** It’s the thirty-second century, and humanity is now part of a galactic civilization comprised of hundreds of worlds. Humanity has been savaged by natural disaster and war and has been fractured into several separate populations, all of which loathe each other (some things never change). This is a gritty drama-driven rambling tale that swings between action, drama, horror, and plenty of very, very dark comedy. Warning: contains adult situations, absolutely horrible language, bathroom humor, implied ultra-violence, actual ultra-violence, drugs, alcohol, pirates, mercs, xeno prostitutes, moral ambiguity, deranged AI's with identity issues, giant commie space slugs, and a poor little frog girl who just wants to sell coffee. Updates twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. *** Note: This story can get rough. Those warning tags? They aren't for show. I recently received a review and as a result I want to make one thing clear. Portraying something is NOT endorsing it! Many "heavy" topics are touched upon and just because a character says or does something does not imply that the author feels the same way. I selected the "Anti-Hero Lead" and "Villainous Lead" tags for a reason. Rule number one of this story is "no good guys". A good description of the story is, "bad people doing bad things to worse people". There are a few good characters, here and there, but they are the exception to the rule. If you want a hard-hitting, exciting, gritty sci-fi story that doesn't pull any punches, or shies away from "difficult" concepts, welcome! If you are set on a pure and noble knight that runs around and slays conveniently evil monsters and rescues totally innocent princesses... or your sensibilities are easily offended... You're not going to be happy with this one.

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.
