PHASE 91 - CONFRONTING THE BIG BAD WOLF ROUND 3

According to the map, the nearest battle is where Void Wolf is. Kristoff, Drex, Benedict, and Emily are the ones confronting that enemy.

As Tiara, Heushac, Key and I rush to that field, I couldn’t help but worry. Void Wolf was the one who killed Helena, so Amy assigned those four to take on him because all of them have no grudges against that sociopath.

“Are you sure you guys are going?” Key pulled Heushac’s sleeve. We halted on running. “I have no problem joining the battle, and I think Alaric can handle his emotions regarding Void Wolf. I’m more worried about you...”

“I wanted to avenge my sister...” Heushac said as he tightened the grip on his sword. “...But Jeannette is right. We can fight in full power if we don’t have any emotional burdens on our heart. I think we can assist them without interfering.”

Seeing that this reckless friend of mine finally got a good use of his brain, I made a smirk. “That’s too deep. I never considered you as a poet.”

“Alaric, Alaric. Don’t be such a prick.” Heushac shook his head.

“S-So, we’re just going to cheer them up as they fight, right?” Tiara excitedly pumped her fist.

“No. They need your heal and my commanding prowess.” I said.

They don’t need my commanding prowess! They’re completely ignorant on my orders!

I’ll describe my new teammates first. You already know Drex, he’s the giant mace-wielding guy. Also that jerk Kristoff, the bowman.

Benedict is wielding a giant buster sword. If I said giant buster sword, it’s not redundant. You would always see in every RPG an emo boyband member who drags his weapon which is about twice as big as him. But still, he can swing it considerably fast, as if it’s just a bamboo stick.

Emily the creeper maid uses a peculiar Weapon Gem, which is a tail that has a drill on top of it. She can command the tail like an extra limb, and she’s capable of doing ten stabs in just a second.

Those four are ganging up on Void Wolf, who is effortlessly evading their attacks; whether it may be a heavy mace smash, swift sword swing, tail thrusts, and even enchanted arrows. He can read all those moves.

“All of you, jump back!” I shouted.

“Ey, don’t tell me what to do!” Drex yelled back.

Kristoff backed the protest. “I don’t recognize you as our leader! Calling you ‘Our Commander’ is the same as calling a dumb person ‘Einstein’!”

“Except that I’m actually your Field Commander… Einstein.” I said with a facepalm.

Swoosh!

Void Wolf used his chainsaw sword to make a sonic wave, which ejected the three melee attackers. Those three idiots rolled on the snow as they taste the consequence of their own arrogance.

The maid Emily landed on her fours, like a cat. Then she used pointed her drill tail to the enemy! “!!!”

Void Wolf just slashed the tornado drill to repel the attack.

“” Tiara raised her staff, and a white energy dragon hovered around, raining some white glitters. Those glitters healed the wounds of my allies.

Seeing that my allies are regenerating, Void Wolf has no choice but to use his trump card! “!!!”

There was a loud explosion, and what appears next was the big bad black wolf. Seeing those, Heushac gritted. Key tapped his shoulder, and he managed to calm down a bit.

If we wanted to take it down without spending a life, I should urge them to follow my commands!

I inhaled a lot of air until my lungs are about to burst out.

“HEY, YOU PEBBLE-BRAINED JACKASSES!!! THAT DOG ONCE SWALLOWED A GOD WHOLE!!! IF YOU WANTED TO DIE THAT BADLY, THEN FINE, BE A WOLF FOOD!!!”

All of them now had their attention on me. Even that wolf.

I cleared my voice once more. “Drex, Benedict, frontline guard! Emily, counterattack! Kristoff, fire assault!”

As the four went into position, the giant wolf Fenrir opened its mouth, and chains went rushing! But thanks to Drex’s giant mace and Benedict’s big sword, the chains only proceeded to wrap the weapons!

“Hnnnngh!” The two heavy weapon wielders are struggling hard! Their weapons are being pulled by the chains!

But that was my plan! As long as those chains are stuck on those two, the wolf Fenrir is like a shackled dog!

Emily jumped upward, and aimed her tail towards the forehead of that monster! “!!!” Her body was covered with swirling wind which formed a cone! It rushed to Fenrir’s head that made a strong impact!

Kristoff ran like a ninja to get into the side position of the enemy. Then, he charged his bow for five seconds to unleash his ultimate attack!

“!!!”

As he released his arrow, it transformed into a large comet that directly hit the wolf’s left side! The impact was so powerful that there is a deafening blast combined with a strong pulse!

“Awwoooooh!!!”

The wolf cried as it fell down to the ground. Its left side is now completely burnt and we can now see its ribs and even its lungs.

In an instant, Fenrir reverted to the unconscious cloaked man with a shattered skull mask.

“They did it!” Heushac roared as he pumped his right fist! “We won!”

“Hey, don’t jinx it.” I scolded my friend. Then I pressed my earpiece to call for teleporting priests, but then…

“What the-”

Void Wolf’s body slowly submerged into the thick snow. Drex and Benedict tried to reach him, but the black cloaked man is no longer there.

“Aaaaw, he jinxed it!” Kristoff complained in disappointment.

“It’s your fault.” Key glared at Heushac with a poker face.

Heushac couldn’t be more disappointed right now. He couldn’t imagine that the enemy just slipped between our fingers. And that’s his fault for jinxing it.

“Don’t worry, Mister Heushac!” Tiara cheered him up. “We will fight him again if he ever appears!”

The team regrouped to us and had their wounds healed by our shrine maiden. We will have a short break for now.

I looked at the hologram screen and double checked the stats of my allies, and I think it’s good. Amy and Ayano may be confronting Diadem right now, but I don’t see their vitals dropping at any time soon.

But suddenly…

There was a static that went to my brain. Blurry noise and blurry vision. There was a spark on my nerve cells that made my head hurt for a moment. And a creepy voice entered my brain.

THIS IS THE TIME FOR YOU TO CHOOSE

In an instant, the hologram projection screens gave me the worst scenario. All ten of the body blueprints are marked red, and their heart rate is completely a flat straight line.

I blinked twice and shook my head. The blueprints and other stats are back to normal. I think it’s just my imagination...

Or my ...

All of a sudden, there was a radio report through my earpiece.

“Be advised, the New Order is retreating. I repeat, they are retreating to the North East. All units are ordered to keep pushing. Goodluck. Out.”

“Looks like we’re winning this war,” Kristoff said.

That’s a bad news. Why? Because according to my hologram screen that has a whole outline of the place, we are at the far northeast branch of the battlefield. We may be winning, but… it all means that they are rushing to our location!

One channel contacted my earpiece again. It was Ayano’s voice.

“Alaric, are you finished there? Because Jeannette needs some help right now.”

I looked at the screen that indicates Amy’s vitals. And her whole body is now on orange, except for her right shoulder and hip, which are coded red.
