*Current time after Chapter 16*
Ryan can feel warmth cover his whole body as he slowly regains consciousness. He is barely able to move his muscles as his whole body feels sore. His memory is a little blurry but he can remember the major details.
Ryan's eyes flutter as he opens the for the first time since he used Soothing Sunlight on himself. It is dark with the small exception of a little light coming from a lamp almost out of oil right in front of him. Ryan is laying on his side and decides to lift himself up so he is sitting on the bed. Ryan can feel a tightness around his abdomen so he lifts the blanket up and sees bandages wrapped around his abdomen and also some green paste dripping out of it.
Confused on what it is, Ryan takes a small bit of it and places it on his fingers. Deciding it is probably not poisonous, he puts a little bit in his mouth and Ryan can feel himself start to regain strength quickly. The minty taste lets Ryan assume that this is most likely a plant but not just any plant. It is most likely a Green Blossom turned into a paste to help rid someone of soreness.
Ryan is impressed at the creativeness of the people in this world and begins to wonder what other inventions they have came up with. Ryan looks around the room some more and soon he realizes someone is at the end of the bed. Tio's head is on the end of the bed as she seems to be asleep, her body move up and down from the rhythmic breathing coming from her while sleeping.
Tio's long brown hair covers part of her faces and Ryan takes the time to truly take in Tio's features.

'She has a really cute face huh? Her body definitely isn't hard on the eyes either. She is a little clumsy though but I don't mind that at all. Maybe I should...'
Ryan shakes his head back and forth to wipe his thoughts away as he knows not to get attached to anyone who isn't a player. NPCs die way too easily and way too often. Plus some of his disciples wouldn't be very happy if Ryan started to chase after someone since they all couldn't find someone themselves.
Ryan laughs when thinking about his twelve disciples but his time reminiscing is cut short by the sudden appearance of something dark in the side of the room. Ryan can feel something inside of him begin to bubble up after he sees who it is.
"Beautiful isn't she? That's one of the reason I picked her." Lilabelle says while slowly walking towards Ryan from the corner of the room. Her form is constantly shifting from a girl to a body of writhing tentacles and Ryan can feel something inside of him tell him to run but something prevents him from doing so.
"Now Frew, God of Miracles. I don't need to talk to you so I apologize for the inconvenience." Lilabelle lifts her hand into the air and a black sword forms out of thin air. She pullsn her sword over her shoulder and slashes horizontally at Ryan. Barely able to react, Ryan casts Tears of Denial for he expects to die but he blacks out before the sword even hits him.
The sound of metal clash on metal is heard as Lilabelle's sword is caught in the mouth of Ryan. His teeth are extremely sharp and leaves scratches in the sword and Ryan's eyes grow a bright gold. A snarling voice erupts from inside of Ryan.

"You dare show yourself to me again Seedling? You won't have anyone to protect you this time."
Lilabelle sighs as she had her suspicions confirmed. She knew that the Abyss Watchers are inside of Ryan but she didn't know that he was there too.
"I thought I left you paralyzed under that bridge. How are you inside of this man?" Lilabelle says with an annoyed voice. Ryan bits down and the sword inside of Lilabelle shatters. Not worried about it, Lilabelle drops the sword.
"Hahaha, you think I didn't summon my hero for three years for no reason?! Once we all transferred into the body of our Young Wolf, all we had to do was wait for you to make a move and then pounce. Now that you are here, I can finally end this once and for all!" Ryan says in a low growl turned into a near howl at the end.
Lilabelle puts her hand up to stop Ryan and who is controlling him and it actually works. The Old Wolf of Farron knows the Seedling's powers and knows he has to be careful. It would be different if he was used to Ryan's body but The Old Wolf doesn't know how to use Ryan's Miracles yet.
Lilabelle lets out a sigh as she is surprised that the hot headed dog didn't already try to attack her.
"We cannot fight anymore as the time to fight against the Hunters is now. The Moon God works fast and managed to unite the Hunters and the Beasts. If we don't work together, they will destroy us." Lilabelle says to the snarling man.
Ryan's face becomes annoyed as The Old Wolf of Farron knows how strong the Hunters are and if they untied with the Beasts the hunt then all then the Big 20 has to awaken all of their heroes now and work together. If not then...
The Old Wolf looks away from Lilabelle, pissed but being forced to make a peace treaty for the time being.
"Fine," he growls, "We can work together for now but no more feeding power from my summon."
Lilabelle hesitates for second as the power stored inside of Ryan is the most amazing thing Lilabelle has ever tasted but this is no time for one to put one's greed over their need.
"Deal."
As Lilabelle says this, Ryan's golden eyes return to their natural shade of brown and he falls back down onto the bed, asleep for now. Lilabelle sighs and looks at Tio and then back at Ryan and gets an idea.
'If we took Tio's affinity for magic but small power pool and combined it with Ryan's non existent affinity for magic and nearly endless pool of power and his ability to use miracles then...'
Lilabelle smiles as she has had one of her best ideas for a long time. Now for her to wait for Ryan to fall in love with Tio and for them to have a kid. Then Lilabelle would have the ultimate feast.

A Queen of Ruins
Some people just want to watch the world burn. I'm not one of those people. Some people see the world as something to be saved, and brought to heights never before imagined. Again, not me. What kind of person am I? I'm a Queen, plain and simple. Lots of people, noble and commoner alike, often complain about life being a cruel mistress, or something similar. When I hear those complaints, I can only laugh, or look at them in contempt. Life is simple, you only need to let yourself take the path you are meant for. Me, I was born a bastard, lived with my mostly sadistic half-siblings, among people who thought I was naturally inferior. And look at me now. *********** I do not claim ownership of the picture

I’m a storyteller, not a writer - there’s a huge difference between the two professions. IMPORTANT! This story is told in a first-person limited, conversational style, with Emmett occasionally breaking the 4th wall and addressing the reader directly. This means that YOU and Emmett may have absolutely no idea why stuff is happening, because there will be little or no exposition or other POV's. Read the comments for spoilers, ask questions if you want to know something. This work incorporates blended aspects of Xianxia, Wuxia, Super powers, and Western Magic into a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure. It is none of those things and all those things, mashed together. The MC is Over Powered, but so are many, many others. He just hasn't met them yet. Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. Word count is about 2000 ~ 4000ish per chappie.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
