1 day after the explosion - The Palace

As soon as he made up his mind, the prince decided to go to the magic university with the hope of finding more about the incident (and maybe a solution about his blue face)

So the prince got up from his extremely comfortable bed, got out of his room and was on his way to the stables when he was suddenly stopped by a maid. He got kinda annoyed since he lost the momentum, but then he realized that she was Lina's Nani

"prince, I have something important that I need to discuss with you"(Nani)

And he believed her. She had met her a couple of times, since he had taken care of Lina over the years, and she was always there, but this was the first time he saw her with a serious tone

"no problem, go ahead"(prince)

"well, as you know, after he married your brother Jorge went to live with his wife at a Manor near the palace and kept on living there with Lina even after his wife died"(p maid)

Prince remembered how devastated his brother was at the time. Even though he was a muscle head, he really cared for his wife, and the only way he could cope with everything was training even harder than before. Their father even asked if he wanted to go back and live with them at the palace, but he refused since he didn't want to forget her

"So?"(prince)

"She is only five, and it's already hard for her without a mother and with a father that had serious problems in expressing himself and was away in training most of the time"

Well, my brother always trained all day and since he had a serious expression all day similar to mother, I am not surprised that happen(Prince)

"I am afraid for her mental health if she keep staying alone in that Manor, so I want to move her to the palace and that you look after her until her father comes back, like you said he would"(p maid

hey, I tried to cheer her up, don't put the blame on me(prince)

The prince found really annoying the implications of that. With all the s*ht going on he didn't want to also babysit a 5-year-old, but on the other hand, he would feel awful if he didn't do something for his niece, especially when she needed his help

"look, I can't promise I can look out for her since I have to manage the kingdom until someone replace me" which it could be his family, some noble, an angry riot or an invasion, and I really hope it's not the last two" but if she wants, she can take Alice room" (prince)

"I understand, thank you"(P maid)

And after giving a small bow, the personal maid left, leaving the prince wondering what to do now.

What was I doing? a yes, the magic university(prince)

And with that, the prince headed to the stables, or that was the ideaAs soon as he reached the stables he was suddenly stopped by the palaces guards.

"Stop prince, where are you going?"(guard A)

"I am trying to get a horse"(prince)

"sorry sir, but by orders of the duke, you can't leave the palace without an escort"(guard A)

For a second, the prince found this level of control really annoying, but since an attack has been made to his whole family yesterday and he survived by pure dumb luck, it makes sense.

"Fine, I will take a carriage, follow me"(prince)

And with that, the prince boarded a carriage with five guards and asked guard/driver to take him to the magic university. The prince realise that actually it was a really good idea to take the carriage instead of simply riding a horse since he still was blue, and that would attract all kind of unwanted attention to himself, again....

"excuse sir"(guard A)

"uh, yes?"(prince)

"There is something that everyone in the palace is wondering"(guard A)

"yes?"(prince)

"Why does your face look blue?"(guard A)

Not what happen to the royal family, not why I am alive or if I know something of what happen bu why I am blue, seriously????????????(prince)

"Look, I do a lot of alchemy research, and like everyone in the kingdom knows, I constantly screw them up and end up in some kind of catastrophic accident, and of course, this is the result of my last attempt, ok!?"(prince answer kinda annoyed)

"yes sir"(Guards A, B, C answer with a look of pity in their eyes)

So the rest of the way the prince look out of the window and tried to ignore the guards

When the carriage arrives at the university, the prince orders the guards to wait for him in the carriage since he was safe enough with the university guards. The Guards happily agreed to "wait" for him, and as soon as he left, they started to laze around.

The prince went inside the building and as soon as he found the reception desk

"Excuse me, I want to see the archmage please"(Prince)

"No problem prince, wait a moment while I contact him"(receptionist)

he was about to ask how she knew he was the prince, and for a second, he thought he may be more famous than he thought until he realized that all the country must know by now that the prince has a blue face. Was his trademark his blue face by now? maybe he would be called the blue prince from now on

"The archmage wasn't expecting you so soon, but he already has information and is waiting for you in his office"(receptionist)

Luckily, the receptionist interruption helped him forget his "happy thoughts"

"can you tell me how to get there?"(prince)

"Follow me please"(receptionist)

It was the first time he came here since he didn't have any business with mana related stuff, but he was really impressed with the facility. The magic university was enormous with everything looked spotless and brand new(probably magic had a hand in that). It was no surprise that this university was considering the best in the country, and getting accepted was extremely difficult.

After walking around a bit and watching all kind of weird stuff happening in the background, they arrived at the archmage office so the receptionist said goodbye and left while the prince opens the door and went inside

"excuse me"(prince)

"oh, hello prince, I wasn't expecting you so soon"(archmage)

"yes, the receptionist told me"(prince)

The archmage was sitting behind a desk, and with his hand offered the prince a chair for him to sit and some snacks. Of course he gladly took both of them

"I image you came for the explosion analysis"(archmage)

"That and to see if you can fix my blue problem"(prince)

"yes, I can imagine that"(Archmage)

Then, the archmage started looking for something in his desk until he found a stack of paper and started to read

"Well to the report from the expert that researched the explosion, this was no accident, and it was probably an inside job. It looks like someone made the mana vein inside the church amplify its power until it broke and exploded. It's possible to do it far away, but most likely someone inside made it happened"(archmage)

"Do we know who was inside the church?"(prince)

"Yes, as far as we know it, inside was the high priest, the high priestess and all six of the missing royal family"(archmage)

"Any idea of who the culprit was?"(prince)

"no, not yet at least"(archmage)

Not really surprising for the prince. When has something be easy in his life? He would be even scared if something started to go right whit his "great luck"

"Anything else you can tell me?"(prince)

"Actually, yes..."(archmage)

Prince waited, but it looked like the archmage was reluctant to go on

"sooooo?(prince)

"Well, I was forbidden to tell anyone about this, but I believe you deserve to know. Follow me please"(archmage)

The prince wonder who would have the authority to silence the archmage, but since he looked really nervous, he abstained of any comment and chose to follow him.

They went down to the basement were mana vain was, and after finding a metal door that said staff only, they went inside and found out a person practicing spells inside

The spells were amazing, but the shocking part was that the person practicing was the person doing them her big sister Rebecca

The prince really believed he was finally relieved of his duties
