“one, two, three, four, five, …, go hide, go hide”
“I’m gonna find you”
A creepy toddler was speaking fluently to the kids.
Five kids were running tremblingly to find a place to hide.
It was a children's playground, so there weren't many places to hide.
one of the boys chose to run inside empty drainage.
The toddler finished counting. He immediately crawled toward the drainage.
He grinned his mouth and looked inside.
Nothing.
The hiding boy inside trembling uncontrollably. The toddler seemed not to find the boy.
Then he crawled away loudly. Tud, Tud, Tud…
The crawling sound was going away farther and farther. The boy sighed quietly.
“That toddler,I’m sure, isn't a human. Should we capture it now?”
Zost impatiently asked seniors.
“What do you think? Are those boys human or ghost?” Brother Collin asked back.
“I feel all of them are dangerous beings.” Zost replied.
While we were talking, the toddler suddenly appeared behind the boy in the drainage.
The boy screamed loudly “Help me, Help me” his arms, his legs twisting and shrinking.
His whole body slowly turned into a toddler. Then they grinned at each other.
“They simply are having fun. We should join it too. Hehehehe”
Sister Meiji said maniacally then rushing to the toddlers.
She conjured water bullets and fired them towards toddlers' heads.
Their heads busted open loudly, spilling blood all over the place.
The scenes were too shocking. I’m not prepared for it at all.
She just killed toddlers without blinking an eye.
Suddenly, fingers appeared in the corner of my eyes. It is slowly digging into my eyeballs.
Then I saw the boy's arms were sent flying by flame blades.
Collin combined fire rune and metal rune to create it.
He wielded dual blades to cut the boy down skillfully.

“Thank you brother.”
“Be careful, cast the barrier!!”
Zost began casting the water barrier, the two runes hovering.
Medium, water. Property, water flowing.
“Water, Current” Varee, Pare-Pun
Zost guided current water into a semi-sphere.
A water dome appeared around him. He felt safe now.
Suddenly, Zost felt freezing numb at his feet.
Zost turned to look at it. a pair of hands grabbed his feet tightly.
It dragged him across the ground towards the drainage.
A wind blade sent flying toward Zost bursted his barrier open.
Collin cut the freezing hands and burned the boy’s entire body.
After Meiji slashed Zost’s barrier open then sending it to the last boy.
His body was severed into multiple pieces by the wind blades.
“That’s it?” Zost said blankly to himself.
“What do you mean? That's it. You almost die” Meiji shouted at Zost.
“Alright, he is just a kid. let’s patch the leak.”
Collin controlled star stones to locate the heart of the leak.
“As expected, it’s inside the drainage.”
Collin placed five stones, five elements around the area.
He guided mana from five stones to connect it together.
The space around it trembled slightly. The leak fissure was closing.
It was getting smaller and smaller. However,
It was a futile effort and the gap was interrupted by something.
“I can’t close it. there are some things on the other side” Collin said.
Collin decided to use echo stone to contact the Master Anna.
“Master, Do you hear me?, We can’t patch the leak and there are some things inside it"
"What should we do?”
“zzz…Zzzz” Master didn’t reply for a long time.
There was only a buzzing sound from the stone.
“Just go in” Meiji said impatiently.
“Your decision, brother?” Zost said.
“Fuck it, at worst we will face those toddler hoard”

“Zost! the water barrier should be a circle around yourself not semi-circle, remember it”
“We can save you this time but when we inside on one know what’s going to happen”
Collin lectured Zost then went inside the leak.
Meiji followed him closely.
While Zost walked toward the leak, he felt something gazed at him.
He hurriedly went through it.
A Human-like fish silently watching the whole thing. Its eyes showing troublesome emotion.
The leak fissure slowly turned into a gate.
The edge of the door engraved with runes, shining eerily.
At the center of the door, there are countless crawling toddlers.

"In my defense, I hadn't actually been trying to get hit by a truck." Artemis wakes up alone in a giant futuristic facility with no hint of where she is, how she got here, or what this means. Yet within two weeks, she is shot at with all the guns, a voice is beginning to speak in her head, and she is tormented by a seemingly sentient and possibly trollish space Roomba. She has never heard of the isekai genre, she can't fight worth a damn, and the blue-collar skills she learned at her community college are absolutely useless in a universe where technology is often indistinguishable from magic. She only has one thing going for her: A mysterious ability to interface with highly advanced technology left behind by the Antecessors, the long lost precursor civilization with technology that no one has been able to adequately replicate. Finding herself in a universe where civilizations are locked in an interstellar Cold War, where societies are so stratified that the aristocracy commands fleets of starships while slaves wash clothes with their hands, Artemis decides to run away from it all. She has a ship. She'll find a crew. She'll find a way to make a living at the fringes of civilization, learn how to cope with danger, and survive the affections of a universe where everyone is a cute girl with animal ears and tails.
