《The war of the Gods》Reece ( Part 3)

Reece didn't have to guess where Jason was. He heard the Tv behind him as he entered the dark room with the black walls and metal band posters scattered across the room. When he first saw Jason's new project, he remembered thinking the landlord would have a field day repainting the room. Now, though, now it seemed fitting. Reece closed his burning eyes in an attempt to sooth them then made for the open window leading to a fire escape that took him up to the roof. It was where Jason hid from the world. He could smell the scent of cannabis as he ascended the two floors up. Jason watched him as Reece took his place next to him.

Jason puffed on his joint then held it out to Reece looking across the city.

"I don't even know why I continue smoking this shit. It does nothing for me now." Jason admonished after a little while. Reece scoffed at this taking a puff himself. That was where Vampires differed from other races. Reece was grateful for that. It would take a lot to affect a vampire. They were more affected by blood and what was in that blood so they'd hunt in bars and nightclubs in search of the highs they enjoyed as humans. Toxicated humans got vampires tipsy. Drugged humans got vampires high.

"It's definitely not for the taste..." Reece said with his breath held so that the joint could have maximum effect then passed it back to Jason.

"Nah. Remember those brownies Jamie made..." Jason let out a little laugh.

"Yeah. He called them happy brownies." Reece giggled at the memory.

"Then dad found one and.... and..." Jason's face twisted in pain. Blood tears welled up in his eyes and Reece's own eyes followed example instantly. His arms wrapped around the younger man, pulling Jason's smaller frame against his chest.

"Jason, you couldn't have done anything. What happened happened..." Reece cooed stroking through the straight black hair soothingly.

"You're wrong. I could have saved them both." Jason whispered against Reece's shoulder puffing away.

"You really think they would have enjoyed their immortality as vampires? Coming out as gay is vastly different than coming out as a whole new race. They had a good life. They have three beautiful boys that will carry on their legacy.... well, at least one of them will. " Reece spoke gently, choosing his words with care. The last part made Jason scoff a little and Reece was certain there was a tiny smile on his face. After a moment Jason pulled back and lifted his eyes to Reece.

"Will you go? To the funeral I mean? Please? For me? Jamie thinks it's best we ... keep hiding what I am." His voice broke. Reece couldn't say now. He examined Jason's face in the dim lights of the city and his own softened in response then he nodded. He cupped Jason's face between gentle hands.

"I will do whatever you need me to do. You only need to ask. I'm always here. Always." Reece whispered. They were now so close that Reece could smell that metallic sweet smell of Jason's blood tears. It was alluring.

"I want you to kiss me. I want to taste you. " Jason finally said. Reece bit into his bottom lip as desire filled him and his lips hasitated no longer. They found Jason's and a sharp slice of Jason's fangs turned the kiss bloody. Jason moaned instantly at the taste. Jason must have know... there was something more than human about Reece... Only Jason knew....

"Jay? Reece? Are you guys okay?" The boys pulled apart sharply and moved a few inches from one another on the ledge they sat on. God this was frustrating. All he wanted was some alone time with his vampire lover.

"Yeah..." Jason called back as they heard the click click click of footsteps on the steel stairs leading to them. The two exchanged one look and Jason quickly reached out to wipe some blood from the corner of Reece's mouth just in time for Jamie to join them.

"I come bearing gifts." He found a place beside Reece letting his own legs dangle over the side. "Conner's watching football. " Jamie's face scrunched up as he held a bottle of honey whiskey and Jason smiled, reaching past Reece, deliberately brushing his waist band as he did so. Tease. Reece half glared at him then was handed the bottle. Reece took a sip then folded his legs underneath him. Jason moved to lay down, his head on Reece's thing. Conversation turned to the past and all the good times that the little family had shared. Jamie's head found Reece's shoulder and as they shared a whiskey and far too many joints they also shared their sorrow...
