《The Throne Of Beginnings》Prologue

Prologue:
I looked around me, I was alone, everyone perished in the last fight, their bodies still scattered across the battlefield, it was just me and the other man, the one who had not told us his name but helped us along the way.
“Are you happy now?” Tears streamed down my face as the world began to crumble “Is this what you were aiming for?”
“No...It wasn’t” The man sighed and sat down beckoning me over, pulling down his hood “We were supposed to save them.”
I gasped as I stared at myself but with older features, his tired expression gave out “You're me?”
“You could say that, my job, no...our job was to keep everyone alive,” He pulled out a flask, and offered it to me “let me be straight with you this is as weird for as it is for me.”
“How?” I hesitantly asked him as he started to stand reaching out one of his hands out to me, “Why are you here?”
“My reality was one that ended like this, I lost everything, my hands are stained with the blood of thousands yet I feel powerless against the beings of this universe” The old me started to drone on “I watched as our sister died 400 times each more brutal than the other, My mind slowly drowned into the abyss of madness, I am reaching my limit.
“How many times have you jumped?” I asked, I was fully away from our ability, it was more commonly called the portal, that's how I got my nickname ‘Jumper’. “And how did you do it?”
“It was easy to do,” He pointed at the corpse of Alice Korr, or better known as his nickname, Loki “once I absorbed his blood”

“WHAT?” I looked at him in disbelief “I’m not taking blood from a dead friend”
I felt a sharp pain in the side of my face, My senses heightened as my stats started to waver, I held my hands up as my older self landed another blow on my side, and I started wheezing.
“Listen here dumbass, we both know how much pain we’re in right now” He continued punching, tears were streaming down his eyes. I understood his frustration, how could I not? He was me and I was him, if he did it something must have pushed him so that I would also do it. I grabbed both of his hands, trying to calm myself down. The scars on his face seemed to age.
“What do I need to do?” I asked him as I dragged Loki to the Throne.
“Blood of Loki needs to be poured into the two glasses, each which symbolises a different being.” My older self handed me two wine glasses, one was tinted black while the other was tinted white, as he continued to explain “Yin and Yang, the goodness in evil, and the evil in good”
“Why the throne?” I saw no need for the throne, but my older self continued to circle it “This was the thing that caused the deaths. Why do we need it?”
“The throne is the most important part of the jump,” He explain as he poured the blood into both glasses and edged me forward to sit “Throne of beginnings is the name of the throne, it will gift you abilities that will help the journey be easier, now sit”
I hesitantly sat into the throne, I felt a humming form from the core of the throne, the runes had started to glow as the glasses drained “Where will I go? How far back?”

“You're not traveling back through time, you are in a way regressing and replacing your younger self in another world.” He chuckled, his eyes looked tired, “I’ve done all I can now its time you try”
“How many times have you jumped?” I asked, feeling a little sick as the runes started glowing in different colours, and the throne started to float.
“This one had been my 4,200 jump” He smiled weakly as he saluted me “I wish you good luck”
Then the world left me, I watched the tunnel as the throne started to dissolve and carve the runes into me, I held desperately onto my consciousness as the light became brighter, and then I was standing, in the school that had become desolate after the first wave, but it was different. I checked my watch, Friday 13th October. It was like a punch hit my gut, tomorrow was the day that the first wave would occur.I
