I went to a coffee shop the other day, sign-less though. It was weird, being immersed in the crowd that I had watched from afar all this time. Being able to overhear the conversations I had imagined in my head was a shock. Turns out people aren’t as sane as I thought.
I saw a guy order a coffee with shaky hands, down the thing, and then walk away shaking more. I kind of felt bad for him but I would have to say something to help.
That’s called social interaction and I don’t support that…
That’s really not great. Am I that removed from society? It’s not like I’ve been trying to remove myself from the world, it just kinda happened. When you stop trying to be noticed, you get overlooked. That makes sense, I think.
It was nice though, to just live in the moment. Feel all of the other lives passing through and not worry about any of them. Because they just overlook everyone else and live their lives. It’s not a bad way to live. Instead of needing to know everything, know nothing and fill in the gaps later. No preconceived notions, no thoughts about how people should be, all the space in the world to learn stuff.
Like a baby.

John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down.
