Chapter 12: Bon Voyage!
The sun shone with a curious harshness, coercing my still sunken eyes to open. The curtain windows limned with sunlight was drowning this seemingly lonely room with its harsh light.
“Haaaaa, morning already?”
With a long yawn, I forced my cracking joints to straighten up. I grabbed and donned my carefully folded clothes on the wooden table on my right.
For some reason, the curse on my back is throbbing with an unholy pain. It’s been a while since it did, but I’m glad enough that Tersa isn’t calling out to me night by night.
When I mention Tersa, I meant that grandma overlord. From the outside is the body of child, however inside is the mindset of a tyrant demon that has lived for eternity. As to why such a scary demon is living inside of me… well, reasons.
Enough of that. I blame the lack of sex.
By the time of sunshine, I would always awoke to Meles snuggling on my side, naked, and of course that’s just asking me to pay attention. I would stir her up with light kisses and continuing on to the bath, I would clean and dirty her off at the same time.
Good gosh, where has she been? It feels so lonely without her.
Sob sob…
After my pathetic display, I stood up and parted the curtains.
The view outside the lively streets were majestic. Since this inn is only a few steps away from the south gate, merchants coming in and out of town would be the first view to fill your eyes. And since Zarc is known as a merchant city, there’s tons for me to see already.
Nevertheless, seeing such a lively sight first thing in the morning just gives me that energy I needed to last through the day. If you do not work, you do not get to eat.
With that in mind, I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my face, towel it off, and slapped my cheeks to wake myself up, as i look at myself in the mirror.
One thing that I’m thankful about this city’s inn is the direct water supply.
Back in my village, one has to go fetch water from a well or river. But if you’re well verse with magic, you can just create a pool of water out of nothing. Same with drinking water. With the help of detoxification magic, it becomes distilled. That’s how regular folks are so reliant in magic.
For a guy who cannot use magic in this magic driven world, I can only heave a sigh.

“Should I be happy or sad about this?” I laugh at my ridiculousness and the wry smile that reflected in the mirror implied that I was mocking my own foolishness.
As I was pondering on my next actions, I heard a polite rap on the door.
*Tok, tok!*
“About time for Meles to return.”
However, I was taken aback by the smiling figure that greeted my eyes. The source of all my distress looked at me shyly through the half-open door.
“K-Kansouke… Good morning. Just as you asked, I prepared and geared a horse for traveling. For now, I left it at the stable.”
Frankly speaking, she’s the last person I expected to show up on my doorstep. But I did ask her such a huge favor, so I have no right to complain.
Wait, this guy’s cute enough to be mistaken as a girl. Should I have him relieve me with his mouth?
No, just that thought crossing my mind makes me want to punch myself. This guy should be considered as a last resort!
“Thank you. Is there anything else?”
My words were as dry as my throat. It’s better to abolish this disgusting feeling forming in my loin before it turned into something disastrous.
“Umm, I also brought something that might be able to help you out... If it’s fine with you, may I come inside?”
Meh~ There’s no reason for me to deny him anyways.
“Alright, come in.”
Then, Roxis came and placed a large paper bag on my wooden table beside the bed.
“What’s inside that bag?”
“Oh, just some starting equipment. I passed through the marketplace on my morning rounds today and saw these.“
He took out a pair of leather gauntlets and leg guards, and handed them to me one by one.
“If I have more time, I could have gotten you something better, but that’s all I could get for now. Their sturdy enough to save your life if its needs to, but not something that you should rely on.”
“I see… Thanks.”
The gauntlets made a *shik* sound as I slid and buckled it on my arms while the leg guards fitted me quite comfortably.
The leather is of low quality, but is nonetheless effective as a defense wear. Simply put, its perfect for a mundane looking guy like me.
I then grabbed Fairy’s Tear and strapped it on my back, horizontally, which could be drawn by my dominant right hand. There’s no particular reason for this. Only because I think that it looks a lot cooler compare to hanging this sword on my waist.
Now I’m finally starting to look like an adventurer~
“So, will you be departing by yourself?"

As I’m checking the credibility of my equipment, Roxis threw me a look as if saying he wanted to come. Of course, that’s out of the question.
“Not really. I'll be bringing my companions with me.”
“You mean… that demon girl?”
“Yep, we should be back in a week or so.”
And once I obtained enough money, I’ll be kissing this town goodbye!
“Just don’t do anything foolish as escaping or we’ll hunt you down.”
Roxis’ tone suddenly turned serious. He kept his gaze outside the window, yet his sudden change of mood made me groan.
“Eh? What do you mean by that?”
“I meant what I said. Once we’re done with our negotiations, she will be shipped back whether she like it or not. Remember how she was smuggled? Smuggled demons weren’t properly recorded in our index and whatever fate she suffers while staying in this town could lead to something problematic. Both us and the demons should know this. And that’s why we’re doing our utmost for her to return.”
So basically, without an identification card to keep track of us, we could not stay on a foreign country. Think of it as a pass or ticket. Obtaining this card is one of the reasons why I needed to reach the capital. If I wanted to travel through the demon lands and search for Emi safely and securely, I needed to register.
Imagine yourself living in a foreign land that was mutually trying to dispose of your country no more than two decades ago. There’s bound to be missing people indeed, and to prevent murder and other misconceptions, both sides are keeping track of their people.
Well, that card unfortunately doesn’t save you from unwanted prejudice.
“Kansouke, I’m telling you this for your sake, but don’t even think about it. Don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.”
His sharp words reverberated inside my ears. I know for sure that Roxis meant every word that left his mouth just now.
When he turned around to face me, there was no hint of smile on his lips.
“That’s all for now, I should be going back.”
And after that, Roxis left the room with a tense atmosphere. Now that I think about it, he’s more than just a cross dressing pervert.
But where do I stand in all of these?
“Haaaaa.”
A yawn escaped my mouth as I walk down the stairs of the inn, my knees are somewhat wobbling. Damn, I really overdid it this time.
I heard familiar voices chattering and gossiping downstairs, sparking me a feeling of dread.
“Ah.”
“Kansouke!”
Remi and Meles greeted me on the front counter. Seriously, where did these two disappeared to last night?
As I slowly approach, Remi blushed and pouted her lips, her eyes squinted suspiciously.
“What? What’s wrong?”
As if I was caught doing something immoral, I blatantly asked a question.
What did I do now?
“Who was that girl that just left your room?”
“Oh, you mean Roxis? She’s a good friend of mine. You met her yesterday too, at that food stall, remember?”
Remi bit on her lips and circled around me. And as if she caught somebody else’s scent, her nose twitched involuntarily.
"Sniff sniff… Did she slept with you here while we’re gone? Comforting Mr. Lonely?”
“What makes you think of that?! Do I look like I like guys?!”
In an attempt to destroy this misunderstanding caused by that pervert, I screamed.
Remi’s face however, remained motionless.
“Umu, we don’t think you like guys, but that wasn’t a guy, isn't she?”
This time, it was Meles who inquired. She followed Remi and circled around me too. Although unlike Remi, Meles is way scary. Because of her blood red eyes shooting me crimson spears, it’s giving me that menacing feeling.
Ah, I’m having goosebumps!
“No, believe me! That’s a guy! A pervert!”
““Lies!!””
Seeing that it was futile to explain how all of this weirdness began, I just dropped my shoulders and sighed.
Why do I even bother explaining?
“Nevermind about that, we’re heading out—”
I carefully explained the plan to the two of them. Word by word, excluding the embarrassing past of that old man, I told them everything. Reaching to my pocket, I brought out the map marked by Gordon and showed it to the two of them.
“Do you get it now?”
They both nodded their heads.
“So if we follow through Gordon’s guidelines, we’ll be able to reach Nymphs bath in three to four days. I already prepared everything, all I needed is your consent. Will you two really be coming with me? It could be a perilous journey, so…”
The two girls looked at each other and laughed. I feel like their relationship towards each other is a lot friendlier now. Like the two of them were sisters to begin with.
I’m curious to know what really happened, yet at the same time, I’m afraid to know the contents.
Still, if Meles could smile honestly like that, I’m sure whatever it was, was damn worth it.
“Kansouke would be useless without us~”
“I agree.”
After saying what they wanted, and doing what they wanted, they followed me in the end.
Our journey to become an agent of love, had just begun!
“BON VOYAGE!”
Sorry for the delay guys, I was quite busy writing an entry for the Valentine's contest~
If your curious enough what I wrote, I'll leave you the link here!
Its a what if chapter if Kansouke somehow turned gay for Roxis. Its full of gags and lols

8 217Giantslayer
Synopsis: Alain is a fledgling Giantslayer, enhanced individuals capable of killing deadly giants. But these giants are not big, they are what ancient humans would refer to as mundane animals or beasts. 'The Final Curse' as many humans call it, was a curse that shrunk down the entire human population to the size of small rodents. When the curse first occurred, the majority of the human population was eaten by beasts who are now of towering heights and sizes. But their abandoned gargantuan structures were not built for naught, the remaining humans retreated back into their now giant buildings and rebuild societies and nations inside of them. Follow Alain in his quest to right the wrongs done to his past and hunt down the elusive and mythical Elder Giants, giants capable of intellects and speech. Are they real? Alain certainly insists so despite no one believing him. But perhaps it did not matter, they were real enough to him for what they did to his family. A/N: I'm pretty new to writing creatively so I hope to improve as we move along the story. The prose I use is still fairly simple and 'plain', but I am also new to literature in general so I am hoping to improve my vocabulary as well. It should also come under no surprise that I am a non-native English speaker and writer as well. With that said, I do appreciate constructive feedback. Please don't be overly mean at least. All the chapters are rough drafts that will be edited in the future. The cover is by this user from pixiv: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/4545042
8 237Amir: A Short Horror Story
"My throat became dry; my tongue felt like sandpaper scraping against the top of my mouth. My mind became fuzzy. I had no chance of survival against this, this thing, and It was toying with me. It seemed to see the fear in my eyes and laughed, the metal sounding voice screeching like nails on a chalkboard. " I wrote this when I was young, and I haven't touched it since 2019, so don't worry about it.

8 188Blood of the Past
He awoke in a startled rush feeling as though it had been centuries since last he had opened his eyes, but alas, it had. His thoughts returned and he heard the screaming of his people and the great pain from the burning fires set against them. He was shunned and outcast along with the rest of his people, and the wars, the terrible wars fought because they could not understand. The Humans could not understand and would not understand him and his peoples true nature. He stood, his strength returning to him, as he did so the dust that had gathered on him fell to the floor. He looked around the cave which he hid in all those centuries ago and he found the way out. He made his way towards it, wanting to see the same as which he had when he entered, wilderness. He made it to the mouth of the cave and found it to be near midday, and he saw naught but wilderness. Save a lone tower far in the distance clearly overgrown and abandoned. His blood boiled as he stepped into the light and the harsh reality of him and his people rushed back into his mind. He would wait for night, and then he would move.
