CHAPTER 3 - Birth of the No. 1 lazy student.
And so the next day arrived.
And the same scene as yesterday repeated before the teacher who was taking their class on ways to feel prana and how to circulate it.
Azyl did not realize that he was already slumped until he saw he was back in that dream. Instead of just standing there, he quickly tried moving around and see if he could identify this place with the little knowledge he had of the outside world.
But just after he had walked less than hundred steps, he was yanked awake by the teacher. After being barraged by him once more, the same thing as yesterday occurred. He felt fatigue washing over him, but not as intense as yesterday. Maybe it was because he had not been in there for long.
After that class,
"You are saying that something strange happens with you and you fall unconscious as soon as the class starts?" Zewoulf questioned him with a skeptical look.
"I swear. I don't know what is the trigger but as soon as I sit down, I fall asleep and appear in a strange dream land." Azyl spoke. His expression certainly looked desperate, but Zewoulf found it strange. What could this be?
"Describe this dream land that you were in. Maybe we can find more clues if we can identify this place." Zewoulf said.
Azyl went on to describe the dream as he had seen. He correctly told him any detail that he could remember.
Upon hearing about the scene that Azyl described, a surprised look passed through Zewoulf's eyes. He felt that the scene that was described seemed to be familiar. But he could not remember clearly where the familiarity came from.
"I think I might have heard or scene this place before. Maybe in a story or somewhere else, but I feel the description to be familiar. If there were more details I could probably remember it."

Azyl got excited hearing about this.
"Then that means that place should be somewhere on this continent and isn't entirely something that was conjured by my brain. And that means there might be more information for it if we could find someplace to search for information" He spoke excitedly.
"That maybe true but I would warn you from telling this to any other teacher or an elder at the academy. We are not sure why this is happening to you and so we don't know how the academy might handle this. Lets first find something on our own." Zewoulf spoke slowly.
Whenever he spoke like this, it strangely looked that he was some experienced adventurer who had been through a lot. It conjured a mysterious aura around him.
'Or maybe he just likes to act like that.' Azyl laughed in his mind.
"Okay, then I'll have to see if this happens again tomorrow. Otherwise the only option left will be wait for you to remember. Also wake me if the teacher is going to come my way. I don't be on the receiving end daily." He replied with a slight tone of grievance.
After all this was happening without his consent and being scolded for it felt a little harsh to him. Not that he didn't like sleeping or did not want to solve this mystery now.
And so a week passed like that.
Azyl would fall into the dream land at exactly two in the afternoon after everyone was seated for the theory class. He managed to walk a little further from where he had been originally as he discovered that the dream would always continue from where he last left it.
At the beginning when he found that the dream was not going to disappear anytime soon, he told Zewoulf to wake him up anytime he was about to get caught after he fell unconscious. This way, while he would be exploring the dream slowly, he would not have too much mental fatigue due to the experieunce. He would also avoid irritating his teacher and gain his ire without any reason.

But soon enough he got bored listening to all the theories they were taught in the class and went to sleep anyways. He had also realised that the longer this dream exploration continued, the more exhausted he felt overall, even after resting at night. So he dropped the earlier idea and tried his best to reach the conclusion of whatever was being shown to him. Also, the idea of exploring that strange land was much more appealing than listening to the droning voice of the teacher. This experience was more magical than any other story he had heard before.
And in the evening Zewoulf would recount to him about what was discussed and taught so he was losing nothing by sleeping. Maybe other than the bad impression that the teacher had of him.
And hence the No.1 lazy student of Wind Cloud Academy was created.
He was nicknamed sloth and much to Zewoulf's surprise, Azyl seemed to like that nickname.
"Isn't sloth such a majestic animal? They are great at energy conservation and have strong limbs." He would say with a smile. Maybe the nickname wasn't all that undeserving.
A week after the theory classes had been ongoing, two more classes were added to the schedule of the students. Combat training class and Yoga class.
By now the students had been taught how to circulate the Prana in their bodies and raise their prana level. Reaching prana level 1 proved to be of no difficulty for everyone in the class, including Azyl. After that the progress had become increasingly slow.
So now they would be taught about other stuff regarding cultivation and paths other than elements, to be better prepared for the initiation.
Yoga class was very soothing for Azyl, as all he had to do was maintain a posture and then relax. Even though the postures sometimes got twisty, he was still a lanky kid and could manage them most of the times.
It was the Combat class that was a headache for him. Aside from all the movements that they had to do, there was just too much physical workload for him to take. He felt even more exhausted as compared to the fatigue he felt after the dream exploration and hence even without any need to ask, in the theory class that was kept after it, he would slump as soon as he sat down.
Later he could not help but feel that maybe such an arrangement was intentional by the Academy, to place the theory class after combat class. Maybe they wanted the students to be disciplined or they were just plain harsh.
Like this the two weeks went by for him, with an addition of a title to his character, that would later resound throughout this world, Avis Realm.
