Races on Octanian
Humans [the human] [the humans] [a human city]
Humans are a species, which isn't specialized in any way by nature. This allows them to achieve many things through training and learning, without having inborn talent nor inborn restrictions. They created the first empire to control all civilized nations. Adaptability is their strength.
Elves [the elf] [the elves] [an elven city]
Elves lived in the great forest and founded nations at its edges. Gaul and the Balkans have seen many elven nations rise and fall.
Talented in ranged combat and nature magic.
Dwarves [the dwarf] [the dwarves] [a dwarven city]
Dwarves lived in the mountains and their valleys. They escaped into the eastern mountains, Alpes and Pyrenees. They used the movement of other races to reclaim their old lands and descended from the mountains.
Talented in crafting, building, earth and metal magic. Dwarven weapons and armour are always sought after.
Demi-humans [the demi-human] [the demi-humans] [a demi-human city]
Demi-humans are closely related to humans and part of the sea-folk. They are part animal/creature and sometimes show more or fewer characteristics of their heritage. demi-humans with an animal half that lives solely or mostly in water, are considered part of the sea-folk, but this may differ from tribe to tribe and region to region. Every demi-human can learn to transform fully into his animal half, but not many achieve it. They can transform into a purely human form if they train enough.
Talented in mounted combat and close combat. Can live in harsher climates than other races. Best senses of all the races.
Sea-folk [the sea-folk] [a sea-folk city]
The sea-folk are partially related to some demi-humans sub-races and humans. A few sub-races are part animal/creature and sometimes show more or fewer characteristics of their heritage, those are the ones closely related to demi-humans. The rest consists of races and spirits, who live near and in the water. Most sub-races can transform into a human form if they train enough. The sea-folk prefer to live on islands, but also settle along coastlines and big rivers.
Talented in maritime combat, navigation on sea, and are the best seafarers you can find. They can live in most waters and are the fishers of Octanian. Most crews have at least some sea-folks with them on every journey.

Dark Ones [the dark one] [the dark ones] [a dark one city]
Dark Ones appeared with the great change. Around 1% of the population would turn to dark ones. The reasons for this are unknown, but the theory is, that an ancient curse escaped the eastern mountains. They consist of nightmarish creatures like werewolves or vampires, but don't have most of the limitations or urges from old tales.
They are physically superior to all races and can most of the time transform into their cursed part. Tend to have special magic.

Survival Mage
When ken was a young boy, he became insatiably fascinated by the arcane. The unknown to be more precise, and he loved anything mythical. Like any young boy, he was fascinated by the legends of dragons and gods. But where others were content with the bedtime stories, he was not. When Ken accidentally unlocks his innate talents one day, he starts regretting his curiosity. While a whole new world of magic opens its doors to him, he realizes being a mage isn't all its cracked up to be. In order for new mages to control their newfound powers, they are forced into an academy to learn control and to provide better growth for their ability. Alas, there is an entry exam one must pass. But not all who enter will leave. Depending on overall score during the exam, your allotted a certain amount of resources at the academy. How do you gain more points? By killing your peers, or providing enough entertainment. Author Note: Unsure where this is going yet, just having fun writing. PS, The cover is from Google. I don't know whos it is, but it looks awesome and fits the theme. If anyone does know, or it is yours, please don't sue me. On the other hand, if anyone sends me a fanart version, that'd be cool too.
8 183The Legends of Granis Book 1: The Evergreen Forest
Granis, a world full of mysteries and legends. A world where seven realms have been bound together and adventurers travel abound to find adenture, glory, riches, and many more. Of all the legends that tie this world together, there are two that are most prominant. The tale of seven fallen stars and a lost kingdom, these tales are as old as Granis itself and many write them off as children's stories. A foolish tale for foolish people. Though, of all the guilds that dot Granis and its kingdoms, there is one that holds these legends as true. The Blue Star Guild seeks the truth to these stories and refuse to let anyone dissuade them, for in the words of their master: "The most foolish of tales, make for the greatest of adventures" Image supplied by Shutterstock

In 12417, a few hundred teenagers developing supernatural abilities was enough to send the capital into ten years' worth of civil war, ending in a revolutionary coup d'état. A hundred years later, and all that's changed is presentation.Heroism, vigilantism, villainy - all of it is documented, marketed, regulated ; the Government-Hired-Heroes and the Underground's crooks butt heads day in and day out, all while the rest of the population goes on as normal. A predictable theatre play repeating over and over, to the point it's become clear it's all pretend and the GHH is in bed with the Underground and its mafias. Until Alexander. Some round, juvenile, spandex-wearing, silver-wigged, clownlike grinning mystery madman of a terrorist, unlike any villains before them - spreading chaos and death with no clear purpose beyond it, no affiliations to anyone, no hints to their identity - and all that right under the big powers' nose. A slice-of-life murder mystery thriller in a capepunk superhero setting with multiple leads, surreal twists and lots of explosions.
8 167Evolution of the Lazy Gamer by Bruticus
It had been five years since the game Royalroad first appeared. A new expansion had been released and one person was assigned by his company to review it. That was the beginning of the story of a lazy, unheroic character who would meet others just as lacking in the heroism department as he was. Still life (or virtual life) throws you curve balls and you never know what will happen.
8 245Re: Dystopia (Completed)
This is the story of Mithneel. A boy (who grows up from being a baby to a man during the LN) and all of his adventures. This is the sequel to "Dungeon of Apples?"
