《Gratuitous Item Crafting and Descriptions (and shoddy economics)》Ring of Short-Ranged Teleportation and Colourblindness

Jimmy wanted to make a small item, and thought making a little ring was as good idea as any.
Rummaging in the supply shed, he found some silver and bronze, and arrayed his finer tools. He quickly rustled up a lead mold ring, and heated up the silver and bronze individually. With great care and concentration he poured them together. The colour of the silver and the alloy when combined together was beautiful. Jimmy locked his eyes upon the rapidly combining new alloy, and thought of how different the metals were, and how the bronze went from yellow to more white yellow with the silver added. The rapid difference and reduction in colour.
His mind wandered as he picked up the Silveronze with a small pair of tongs, and dunked it into the cooling vat, then heated it again, and dunked it yet again. For the next half hour he did this, along with careful striking and folding and shaping of the ring. By the end of that time, the Silveronze was something greater, and after being fully cooled, he found that heating it up was unable to soften it without going a lot hotter, so he grunted with interest, cooled it and put it on his finger.
He looked at the trees outside and was a little scared when he could only see them in greyscale. He focused on the ground by them and appeared with a light pop several meters closer.
He wisely took the ring off, and explained what it did to his father.
His father's eyes gleamed with avarice as he calculated a starting sum to request of future potential buyers.
Eventually the Ring was sold to a very wealthy patron enamored by such a curiosity, a duchess in fact, who took such a delight in using the Ring to teleport around instead of walking that her legs weakened, her body fattened, and her husband divorced her. Eventually she tried to use her Ring to do a makeshift flight, but she got distracted one day and died when she miscalculated how low she needed to be to drop and her legs broke.

Warning: mature content. This volume shifts from the shounen / shoujo category to seinen / josei, and most definitely not in a nice way. I'm not referring to porn, which I personally wouldn't consider R-rated. Once again, you have been warned.
