《Agnes of Raegma》Chapter 13~ Visions and Hesitations

I simply couldn’t take my eyes off Agnes.
I wasn’t the only one in this state. I was simply awe struck.
I looked threatening, bewitching and marveling.
“Venice” Agnes growled.
I was jolted back to reality. Well, reality in this vision.
“In enemy ground what did you think you were doing?”
“Y-Your Majesty!” She roared and fell to the floor.
“Stand!” Agnes roared even louder.
Venice stood up. And the rest stood at attention with their chest held high.I thought Venice would be scared but she was shaking with excitement.
“What are we here for?!” Agnes bellowed.
“““To eliminate our enemies!!!””” they all yelled in reply.
“Who are our enemies?!”
“““The soldiers of Thorin!”””
“Who are not our enemies?!””
“““The citizens of Thorin!”””
“Whose ground is this?!”
“““The ARM’s!!!”””
“WWRRROOOONGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She screamed so loud that the shockwave uprooted a tree and it flew a few meters backwards. Some people flew back too. I could have sworn my ears popped. Mordred put a pinky in his ear and shook it around grumbling.
Many grimaced and groaned. Someone was even bleeding from the ear.
Agnes was silent for a while. Then “Venice, handle it” she said. Venice’s hand glowed bluish green and she moved towards the big-tail man who was bleeding in his ear.
“This is Thorin’s ground!” She continued, “Until we have hunted every living soul of Thorin still on this ground, this land has not been captured by us!”
The men looked sad.
Agnes beamed, “We have received words from the scout. Mordred elaborated”
He smiled, “North, after stocking up”.
‘Huh? Just that one sentence?’ I thought dumbfounded.
Agnes smirked, “We charge over to the north as soon as we stock up”
I looked around, ‘In this situation shouldn’t there be horses? No even before that, what sort of strategy is this?’
“Now listen carefully!” she screamed all of a sudden, “Do not, and I repeat do not stand before me in battle! Shall we charge, I shall be before you and not behind nor beside. Your lives are in my hands and I shall do as I see fit. Heed my word! If you hear me say, let me hear you!”
“““Ye!!!!””” Came the thunderous roars.
Agnes flashed a grin obviously pleased, “They call me the Sapphire Demon. And I have to live up to that name so do not slow me down! Do you hear my words?!”
“““Ye!!!!””” another thunderous roar.
I saw Mordred chuckling a bit.
“Stock up!” he yelled and suddenly a warping green thing appeared above him and people began to throw things inside.
“Heed my call, oh ye chariots of beyond” came Agnes’ cold voice. It was spoken softly but I could hear it as though it were loud.
I shivered a little, her voice—my voice was frightening to say the least.
Beings cloud in purple light and darkness began to appear. They numbered the exact number of the people and were shaped like horses but smokey versions
““Ha-ha time for battle”” came the cheers from many directions.
Suddenly the bushes shook and a small boy fell out. He was covered in mud and had very light green hair. He looked up and showed his small feature highlighted by his light brown eyes and yellow diamond on his forehead. Except this diamond was bigger than the ones I saw earlier and he had no gray hair. The diamond took up the whole middle of his forehead.

His face contorted in fear as his eyes met with Agnes’ eyes.
However one thing was peculiar.
None of them showed any reaction to this boy’s appearance. As though they knew he was there the whole time.
Agnes sighed audibly and tears began to form in the boys eyes. I was afraid he would pee on himself given how scared he was.
He opened his mouth to speak but he immediately slumped unconscious.
Agnes pointed her hand to the boy.
I gasped, ‘Is she going to kill him’
A white light shone from her finger tips striking the boy.
I waited for something but nothing happened.
“I have wiped his memory of this incident” she stated after a quiet bit. “I didn’t even realize we had wiped out all their intelligence gatherers but to turn a young child into an intelligence agent, Thorin must be getting desperate, tch” She clicked her tongue. “Well, I hope they believe our wrong information”
‘No, even if it was me I wouldn’t fall for ‘North after stocking up’” I thought, ‘but how would ‘they’ know about the false info if the memory was wiped??’
“Edgar, get the child to safety” She instructed, “those fuckers are destroying what we aren’t. How ironic” she cursed.
“Y-Yes” the dwarf nodded vigorously and ran to the child. He picked the boy up with no difficulty and jumped on the shadow horse riding away.
“Mordred, the real location we are heading too if you may” Agnes said with a small nod.
“Yes, Your Majesty” Mordred said and put on a fierce face.
‘Oh! So that one sentence was not the message…these people should be professional actors!’ I cried inwardly.
“I prefer My Lady if you must” Agnes then said.
Mordred froze then his fierce façade crumbled, “Your Majesty!” he half-cried, “Everyone calls you that why must I be different?”
“I am not a queen and you are my familiar” she stated matter-of-factly.
“You are my Qu---”
“That only applies to you though” she said smilingly.
“Y-Your Majesty~” he pleaded.
She sighed, “Just tell of our plans”
“Yes, Your Majesty” he beamed.
‘Oh my, she gave up quite fast’ I thought.
The people were snickering at the interaction between Agnes and Mordred.
I smiled, ‘he is not that different, huh’
Mordred began to reveal in detail that to the west was a trap Thorin had laid out for them. They were to head east and enter the borders through a secret passage one of their insiders had found out about. And they would set out at midnight.
I was astounded. This was just like a movie except I was watching myself do things I would have never thought of doing.
I thought they would rest or do something of the sort but they just sat alert and waited for midnight to come.
“Let’s go” was the only thing said once midnight came and they all mounted on horses and departed.
I ran along with the horses expecting to be left behind but surprised myself at keeping up with them.
They moved very fast and covered 5 miles in a mere minute. How I could keep up, I didn’t know but I didn’t feel tired in the least.
They soon arrived at a gate and the moonlight was the only way I could see.

They dismounted their horse and I saw a hand open up the gate quietly.
They moved silently with not a single sound and filed through the gate.
With such a large crowd you would expect some problems but you couldn’t even hear their armors move.
“A-Awesome” I spoke out loud and immediately covered my mouth scared for breaking the silence.
But then I remembered no one could hear me nor did I exist to them.
They crept quietly behind bushes before we finally got to a paved road. They all walked onto the road with a majestic air as though they owned it.
But they still made no sound.
I came to see buildings around. Huge houses, small houses, medium sized houses. Anyways they were all houses. Except the thing with a tower that I didn’t really know was and a ginormous however the small houses were painted brown and populated the downside.
As they walked through, I could finally hear a shuffle of feet but one thing was odd. This particular place or city was dead silent.
I looked around trying to see a soul not from my army but none. Then it struck me… did we walk into a trap?
“Wait, something is wrong!” I screamed but of course no one could hear me.
I clicked my tongue and began to search for something that I could hold. But all else failed. I bit my lips angrily and drew a bit of blood
Then I saw a smirk drawn of Agnes’ face.
‘She knows it’s a trap!’
I looked around the rest and they just looked hungry for battle. It seemed that this time they didn’t know. I turned to Mordred only to see a satisfied smile on his face.
‘Ah, these two’ I thought, ‘but that’s you’ I retorted back at myself.
I sighed loudly not caring anymore and stood beside Agnes. A position no one else dared to take. Even though she couldn’t feel me I could feel her dominating pressure. It made my heart thump fast.
I gulped and stood my ground, “I am not afraid of myself” I roared, meh~ I wanted to roar but my voice was stuck in my throat so it was much of a squeak. I mean I was next to this goddess of war. (AN: I think she’s forgotten that the ‘goddess’ is herself)
I decided to watch how everything would unfold, I mean if I guessed correctly, this was just my memory even if I felt like I was there watching. Okay, yes I am in the memory and…. Ugh! I am confusing myself.
ANYWAYS! Everything that has happened so far left me with a nostalgic feeling. Especially that blue armor Agnes wore, everything about it rang. Mine! But looking at it, I felt like to get my hands on it would cost a whole lot.
Not as in money cost but… I don’t actually know but I really want that armor.
“Halt!” Agnes’ voice came loud and clear and vibrated through the city.
Followed by the sound of wind and then the sound of swords drawing.
“I must say, I am actually surprised you noticed us”, A bulky man came out of the shadows and he looked just like the ‘big tails’ except this man had the most famous furry ears that were to go together with tails.
‘Another variation’ I thought.
“Some of these men are the best at stealth in Vetranos”
“I see” Agnes replied curtly.
The man smiled and licked his lips, “It’s not like I care though. Stealth all not. Ice queen or not--”
‘Ice queen?! Who? I thought it was Sapphire demon’
“Oh? I got a new name” Agnes cut in with a grin.
The man’s face scrunched up in disgust, “A mere band of Semi’s dares to invade our Thorin-----“
“This band has eliminate more than half of your soldier’s though~ on a side note, why ice queen? My Lady is not a very big fan of Ice” Mordred cut in.
The man looked like he was going to burst because they kept cutting off his speech.
But isn’t it only in movies they let the villain do his cool speech before proceeded to bury him/her in the ground?
“You bastard, you really think you eliminated-----” the man began
“I don’t really care but I’d really like to know why I am called Ice queen? I fancy lightning to ice” Agnes smirked. She knew the man in front of her like a book.
His tolerance was not very high.
“Eliminate them!!!” He shrieked as his last thread of sanity cut.
The men and women on both sides charged fiercely roaring loudly
Then it struck me that I was about to witness large scale murder.
I saw Agnes draw her sword from its scabbard, smirking and swung it to the right charging towards them. She would initiate the blood shed as she was at the very front.
The sword itself seemed happy to comply with her wishes and it seemed to glow red. Instead of rushing at the man who had bad temper she went for the man by his side.
The man that was about to be appalled noticed the incoming strike too late.
The smile on Agnes face disappeared and was replaced with a vicious one. Before the blade reached the man’s waist….
I shut my eyes, not willing to see myself perform.
I have already acknowledged that I kill but I am not ready to do it myself or see myself do it.
Not yet…
Not yet…
Just a little more, I can’t see just yet…
“My Lady?” a voice broke through.
My eyes flung wide open and I found myself staring into Mordred’s face which was too close for comfort.
“Yeah…” I said softly and tapped his nose.
His eyes widened then his face collapsed into a helpless smile as he withdrew his face.
“You are okay” He exhaled.
“How long?”
“Eh? Ah 30 minutes…” he said a bit hesitant.
“I see” I brought my eyes down and saw that I was sitting on the floor, “Hey Mordred”
“Hmm?”
“I want it”
“What do you want?” he asked confused.
“Blue”
He stared at me blankly having no inkling as to what I was saying.
Then an obvious sign of realization crossed his face and “oh” was all he said.

An experimental diary of sorts recounting my life and experiences, written as a slightly whimsical scifi story about setting off from the past to unknown lands, rebuilding from nothing and finding myself again. The first section of the book contains matched chapters, a chapter for a interlude, both happening at the same time roughly The second section of the book contains more one off stories as we follow one of the travelers explore their heart as well as a unknown land, growing in the process. All of the text here was written in 10 syllable chunks, this reads like a epic of sorts, just with more philosophical focus and POV jumps.
