《The Dragon King》Chapter 18:

Lucas pov
Here I am laying on my bed, in my room alone. Mom and Dad are out at a village meeting. I wasn't allowed to come though because the Elder said it was only for the adults. More than likely it's because of Cyril's disappearance.
I can't help but think of the events that transpired yesterday.
It was a complete mess. However, I don't regret anything I said or did. To think that this whole time my little brother and bestfriend would turn out to be a monster like that. Something as sadistic and bloodthirsty as that is no brother of mine.
"Lucas! Lucas!"
The door to me room bursts open and from the doorway emerges Tide with a terrible look on her face like she just saw something terrible.
"Lucas! I heard something! I was-was sneaking and-!"
"Calm down, Tide! What is it? What's going on?"
I stop her from rambling incoherently so I could understand what she was saying.
"Now take it slow and explain what is going on."
She takes a deep breath before continuing.
"Daddy told me I had to stay home while him and Mommy went out to the village meeting and I got really curious so I sneaked out."
I don't like where this is going, right off the bat.
"I followed them to the meeting which wasn't far out in the woods. All of the grownups were there. I hid behind a tree while I listened and they were talking about Cyril!"
Of course they were. Not very surprising.
"They said things like 'He's too dangerous now!' and 'He might hurt somebody if we don't do something!' Then people started talking about hunting him!"
"What?! Hunting him? I thought they would just send out a search party or something..."

Why would they want to kill him? He's a terrible person, but why would they want to kill him?
"When your Mommy and Daddy heard this, they got super mad and started yelling at everyone! They all started fighting and I left in the middle of all the chaos."
It just doesn't make any sense. Why would they want to kill Cyril?
"Lucas, we have to do something before they hurt him! Your little brother!"
Little brother, huh? I divert my eyes from her. Not wanting to think of that snake being even closely related to me.
"Lucas! They're going to kill him! He's always...*sniff* always been so nice. He's my friend!"
"Tide..."
Tide begins to cry. All my thoughts about Cyril were swept away as soon as I took a look at her weeping face. Is Cyril really taht important to her?
*Sigh* I take a deep sigh before I continue my chat with her. For a second I forgot who I was talking to. Tide has always been like that. So caring and honest...To her, losing a friend means losing family.
"Alright. Go get your hunting gear."
" *Sniff* What?"
"Go get your hunting gear. We're going to look for my little bro."
Corwin pov
"Sweete what are we going to do? The Elder and everyone will..."
"Not if I have anything to say about it!"
The results of the village meeting is not something I agree with. In fact, I'd rather give my body to Chernobog, the God of the Underworld himself, before I let anything happen to my son!
"But..."
She stopped herself before continuing. I know what she was going to say. 'But the Elder trapped us.' Right after we opposed the village's decision to take out Cyril, he used his space magic to trap us. A purple transparent cube surrounded both me and Cassandra and he sent us both to a place outside of time.

I tried to break out, but no matter what I throw at it, it doesn't even put a scratch on it. That goes for Cassandra as well.
I take a seat in the corner to take a rest. I need to recover my mana. Cassandra sits down next to me and leans on my shoulder.
"What are we going to do...? What if-"
"Stop... If that happens... I swear, I'll get my revenge. No matter the cost."

She is beholden to no one so when Del comes knocking on her door, she sends him on his way with a wink and a sarcastic “yeah, right.” When that doesn’t work, she bolts. Excerpt: He snagged her wrist gently before she could flounce away, his fingers warm and firm. “You need to come with me, girl,” he said earnestly. “I don't need to do anything.” She was indignant. She knew that sometimes her kind of abilities could be unruly but Nyssa was quite capable of taking care of herself. She’d lived with her abilities since she was thirteen. She’d learned to handle them herself. “It’s dangerous for you to be on your own,” Del said, tightening his grip on her wrist. She pulled her arm from his grip and he let her go. He could force her to go with him, she knew, but he wouldn’t. “I don’t need your help, Superman.” She didn’t look at him. “I’ll be back in a week,” he said, ignoring her protests. “Be ready to leave with me.” He breezed past her, discarding the necklaces he still held on the desk and leaving. Nyssa sighed, watching his back as he disappeared down the street. “Fat chance, Superman.”

"It's just my family I guess." Tommy mumbled upset."What's wrong with your family?" Mr Awe asked, feeling confused. "I don't think it's what's wrong with them, I'm beginning to think it's what's wrong with me." Tommy answered, not looking up to meet his teacher's eyes. "What do you mean by that, Tommy?" The older asked, spinning around in his chair to show Tommy that he had his full attention and would be listened to. "It's just- like- I show them how well I'm doing in school and they don't even care! Like aren't parents meant to be proud of their children or something? That's what I hear but my dad is never proud of me! It's always 'Wilbur this' or 'Techno that' but it's never about Tommy! Am I not good enough for them or something?"
