Cyril pov
"So where are we headed to?"
I ask the little weasel as I trail behind him. We've been walking for a few days now. Honestly, I didn't keep track of the time. It does seem like it's around noone though. It should be getting dark soon. At this time I wish I was back at home. A comfy bed with warm meals everyday. Out here you sleep on the ground and there's always a rock in your side no matter what position you sleep or how many you throw away. Not to mention I've had nothing to eat but monster meat roasted over a campfire. Luckily I didn't have to go and hunt them myself. Ambrogino said it would take too long if I did it. I'm actually kind of glade I didn't have to. I don't know what will happen if I get into another fight.
"We're going to meet a friend of mine in this Kingdom's Capital. We'll be there soon."
"As in a city? With humans?"
"Yes. However, we'll have to keep those eyes of yours hidden so put this on."
He pulls out a brown dusty cloak from out of no where. The thing has a awful stench to it. Seems like it hasn't been washed in years.
"Look we really don't have a choice here. I know it smells bad, but you're just going to have to put up with it for now, got it?"
Ambrogino must have noticed my face cringe after he handed me the cloak. I do as he says and put it on. The hood of the cloak is pretty big. It's able to cover most of my face. Why do I even have to wear this? Do these Humans not like Dragons?
We continue walking after this little exchange. I am a little nervous about meeting Humans after such a long time. I wonder if they're the same as the ones from my old life.
A few hours have passed now and it has become dark. Another perk of being a Dragon is that I have very good eye sight. I don't think I'd be able to keep track of Abrojino in this darkness if I had Human eyes.
"It's just over this hill. Keep climbing!"
After reach the top, I spot the city. Surrounded by giant walls that go on for miles with armed guards stationed at the top.

"Welcome to Warsent! The Capital of Desreot and the largest city on the continent."
Largest on the continent, eh? Well I'd say that sounds about right.
"Come on. We have to get to the gate."
He takes one step before pausing.
"Oops, almost forgot. I can't be seen like this!"
Ambrogino then becomes covered in a dark mist. The mist is too thick for me to see him anymore and soon appears a man with light brown hair and peircing blue eyes with a height of around 5'10. On him is a basic set of clothes. A dirty brown T-shirt and black pants with a rope for a belt.
"There we go! Now let's get to the gate already. Luckily it's late so there's not many people there."
He says before marching toward Warsent. I abscent mindedly follow him as I still have a somewhat shocked expression. Well in a world of monsters and magic, why would this be that surprising?
We reach the Gate of Warsent and we are met with a guard taking a nap on a stool behind the gate.
"Hey wake up Mr. Guard!"
Ambrogino shouts at him in an attempt to wake hime up. It works, but it didn't have the desired outcome. Well not my desired outcome anyways.
*CLATTER*
The guard jumps out of his stool in surprise, trips over his own foot and falls to the ground.
You can hear Ambrogino titter at this. Luckily, I don't think the guard did.
"What! What do you want!"
He gets back up rather fast and shouts at the both of us. He looks pretty average. Brown hair, tan and sunken eyes. Most likely from having to guard this gate all night.
"We need to enter the city Mr. Guard. Could you open up?"
"Entering times are over. Come back in the morning!"
Ambrogino looks like he expected this as he pulls out a small bag from his back pocket. Or at least he made it seem like that from the guard's perspective. Since I was standing behind him I clearly saw his hand disappear into a small black hole and pull the bag out.
"Are you sure about that, Mr. Guard?"
He tosses the bag to the guard through the gate.

"OPEN THE GATE!"
After rummaging through the bag, the guard shouts to his fellow soldiers to open the gate.
I'm assuming it was money in that bag. I don't really know about this world's currency considering in the village there was'nt any. We only traded things like food, clothes, toys, etc. But if this is a fantasy world it was probably something like coins.
"What are you spacing out for? Let's go."
Ambrogino beckons me to follow him into the city. I do as I'm told and follow his lead. As I follow, I can't help but become curious about these people's culture. So I ask him a few questions.
"Hey what's the currency here?"
"Coins. Copper, silver and gold. A single silver coin equals on hundred copper and one gold coin equals one hundred silvers."
"What are these people's Holidays?"
"These Humans do not celebrate any Holidays. Unless you count King's Day, which celebrates their King's birthday. Every citizen is required to pay an extra 5% in taxes."
"Wow that sounds horrible. You'd think this King would have been overthrown by now."
"Mm"
He answers all of my questions swiftly like he was expecting them. Well he has been watching me ever since I arrived here so he must have noticed my natural curiosity. Another question pops in my mind. Something I was wondering about before arriving at Warsent.
"Do Humans not like Dragons?"
"Of course they don't. Humans fear those with greater power than theirs and Dragons are much much stronger."
An answer I was expecting but with a little twist at the end there. It reminds me of my old world. This was always the case. Nations and Alliances going to war with others because they had something they didn't want them to have. Guns, explosives, nuclear missles.
I try to dismiss these thoughts from my mind to try and keep track of Ambrogino as he enters an ally making turn after turn. Soon we end up at a dead end. A long ally way with an old wooden door at the end.
"This is the place. Listen, this man is a parasite controlling a human. You won't be able to tell, but he's dangerous. Don't eat or drink anything he gives you."
"What the Hell? Are you saying he's going to try and infect me? I thought you said he was a friend!"
"He is! It's not that I don't trust him but....He's a little unpredictable and kind of a fuckin' nut so just do as I say."
Holy shit this is not going to be fun.
*Knock kncok*
Ambrogino knocks on the door a couple of times and after a sew seconds the door creaks open. I can't make out a face despite having a Dragon's eye-sight.
"Who is it?!"
"It's me you freak now open the door already."
"Ambrogino! What the hell are you doing here?! You know it's too dangerous for you to be here! H-He might find you and and then he will find me a-and-!"
"Arrgh enough just open the damn door!"
He kicks the old door open, almost brreaking it off the hinges.
"Oof you bastard!"
With the door now wide open I can now see the man owning parasite. He's an old man. Around Ambrogino's height with a balding head and a short white beard. You really can't tell he's a parasite at first glance, however after a closer look his eyes are completely black!
"Cyril, meet Gnat. Gnat, meet Cyril."
The old man immediately jumps back to his feet and rushes over to me, grabbing a hold of both my shoulders. Out of relfex I swat them away. That and the fear of some disgusting bug latching on and taking control of my brain.
"Ooh! Did you bring me this as a present, Ambrogino? Finally a fresh young host! I've been getting tired of this weak old shell."
Ambrogino pushes him away and takes a step infront of me.
"No you idiot! This kid is with me. Touch him and I'll burn you to a crisp!"
"Humph! Fine I'll just have to latch onto another pathetic human for the time being. So? What did you want?"
Ambrogino then yanks off my hood and points to my eyes.
"I need you to unlock Cyril's Dragon form."
What?!

The world of Praelium is a simple one. Wake up in the morning, get dressed, eat some breakfast, stare at the outside scenery and look at all the wild monstrosities that roam the landscape. Oh, and you can't forget the constant battle. Or the magic. And the guilds. Infact, Praelium really isn't simple. Everything is a constant battle to survive, as even in the most peaceful of cities, someone or something will always be out there, rooting for your demise. And the thing that cheers the most for the immediate dissipation of your frail soul? Dungeons. Areas of landscape that are unusual in every way. Vast deserts the size of planets, oceans of lava, you name it, a Dungeon can have it. But in this story? We aren't talking about any old, run of the mill, "Hurr durr, monster, battle, treasure!" type of Dungeon. We're talking about the Dungeon of a King. That's right, you heard me loud and clear. We're following the Dungeon of a King, and its Master, Basileus, in their conquest to become Praelium's greatest, most hated. Praelium's most revered, most feared. Praelium's most adored, most scored. Praelium's finest Dungeon, the cream of the crop, the Dungeon of Dunegons, and the one that will rise above all!
