The rankings for each student were sent to individual families through email. It is also posted on the school website too. When Lintian got back home that day wearing a bandage on his cheeks, his new brothers and sister were trying to console him. Tell him that rankings don’t matter at all and stuff. His new sister Yuki was ranked 34 at the first rate school which is a bit surprising since Lintian never saw her train before. Like ever. Not even once. His new father Mao was the most surprised out of all of them. He was sure Lintian would be first. Especially with the cultivation of 2nd stage of the refinement realm. Even if he doesn't get first then at least second, or third but dead last? What kind of game is he playing? He decided not to get hung up and consoled Lintian too.
After managing to sneak away from everyone he snuck out the back entrance and entered the cool humid forest at the back of the family villa. He snuck in quite deep. About one mile to be exact.
He took out his beast box and release Kyuri out into the forest. Lintian saw several changes on Kyuri since last night. He could see the scales forming and feathers sprouting on his wings and certain parts of his body.
Kyuri looks at Lintian staring at him. Lintian was wondering what tier Kyuri was at right now. So he brought out a roasted chicken leg from his interspacial ring and held it up. Instead of flying he crawled over to Lintian and took the chicken leg. Lintian then started to pat him and tried to sense what stage Kyuri was at. Kyuri was also at refinement realm stage 2. The weird thing was Lintian could feel a steady flow of qi being flown into Kyuri. At this pace Lintian thought that within a month Kyuri would be a tier 1 beast.

“KYAA!!” a head popped out from behind the tree. Lintian activated his Dragon eyes and his qi was stirred to the point where he was ready to battle. Then he recognizes Yuki’s face and calms back down.
“Yuki what are you doing here?” Lintian asks frantically.
“LINTIAN YOU MEANIE!” she shouted but Lintian instantly performed the Emperor’s Steps Jin and was next to her and uses his hand to cover her mouth and shushed her.
“Shhh. What if your scream attracts the demonic beast in the forest,” warned Lintian.
“Sorry. Lintian you still a meanie through,” she whispers back.
“Why?” Lintian asks. He really does not understand what goes through girls head. He has never treated Yuki in any sorts of cruel ways and if there was two words to describe his actions it would be too nice.
“How come you never told me you have a companion already?” she asks as they both walks over to Kyuri.
“Oh he just hatched yesterday,” replied Lintian.
“Did you name him yet?” Yuki asked and you can clearly see the hope that he hasn’t on her face.
“Yes,” sighed Lintian as he was not stupid and could tell what she was aiming yet.
“Oh, what you name him,” she asks all disappointed.
“Kyuri.”
“Are you going to tell Kira and Tsuna later?”
“I don’t know. Maybe?”
“They be so jealous if they know you have a dragon for a companion. I haven’t got my companion yet but I want something cute, strong, and adorable.”
“Wait did you follow me?” Lintian asks suspiciously. He made sure no one was following when he left.
“Duh. I saw you acting all weird and suspicious so I followed behind you.”

“How come I couldn’t sense you at all when you followed me?”
“Oh I hid my qi and the Tsukino style is the hidden moon arts. My dad said that we do various jobs such as intelligences and assassinations sometimes so training our ability to stay hidden is important.”
“How come no one told me this?”
“Well it was kind of obvious and you never asked. As for assassination only the top know about it and dad was thinking about tell you next week anyway. Why did you sneak out through?”
“Oh uh,” Lintian forgot he to come up with an excuse before he got caught.
“You weren’t trying to hog Kyuri all to yourself were you,” she interrogated.
“No of course not. I wanted to go hunt for a tier one beast,” he said and just left out the absorbing part.
Her eyes grew bigger in excitement.
“I didn’t want others to worry about me so I snuck out. Since I came last in the ranking,” Lintian bullsh*tted. He didn’t even thought people would worry about him or the cared for the fact he came last.
“Isn’t tier one beast in the martial realm? We only just started in the refinement realm how are we going to fight them?” she asked.
“I don’t know yet,” he lied. He was thinking of using his Uncle Ming’s heaven qi knife to do the killing. He felt relatively safe with the Emperor’s Step and the qi knife.
Lintian heard the leaves rustle. His body tensed up. He was on guard.
“Yuki hide in the trees,” he instructed sternly. He then mentally instructed Kyuri to go into the tree with Yuki. Lintian tested out the mental thing for a whole 5 hours last night and pretty much got it down to a science.
Lintian’s pupils changed shapes and his iris turns bright red. It was covered up by the contact lens so only a blush of red appeared on the contact lens. His head turns toward the rustle sound from before. Yuki quickly ran up the tree and hid. Kyuri crawled up since he still can’t fly yet.
Two tusks appears from the bushes.
