《To Deify a Deity》Chapter 12 - Allenrael

Allenrael was the ancestor to the Karom family that Traigar had annihilated right before announcing that he was going to court the mother of his children, Cirwyn. The old undying demon had been secluded for the last thousand or so years. No one knew what he was doing, not even the gods. The gods didn't much care either, Demons weren't very well liked by any of the races or their gods. The demon race also didn'ty have a god of their own, not anymore anyways. There had been a relatively large fight between two particular gods when the High Humans were moved from their home world to Pandora by Syble.

The god of the demons had been strongly against the idea of the High Humans moving to Pandora. The reasons the demon god was against moving the high humans were his high and lofty aspirations of conquest and domination. The demon god wanted to have the demons take over the world, but a High Human presence would have been a serious hamper in his plans. It wasn't easy to kill any of the immortal races. They might not have been gods but they were certainly powerful in their own rights. Demons, being one of the three immortal races of the Paradoxica star systems, were strong and they would have easily crushed the elven lands and enslaved all the elves, High Elves included. High Humans, on the other hand, weren't so easy to conquer. If there was any race that could subsist purely on slaughter, High Humans were that race. The strongest of the immortal non-gods weren't exactly united though. The demon god feared an attempt to conquer the High Humans would unite them against the demons, making it even more difficult to deal with them.

Syble didn't much care of the particular use of language the Demon God had used to try and dissuade him. For God who seemed to know so much, he failed to recognize that Syble had created High Humans in his own image. Prideful, hot tempered, richeous, but with a penchant for extreme punishment. Syble and the High Humans alike wouldn't necessarily fight unless provoked, but when they were provoked, it wasn't an eye for an eye kind of thing. It was more of a, "You offended me and didn't apologize so I'm going to kill your entire family," kind of thing. Thankfully, High Humans were a somewhat toned down version of Syble and only killed the person who had offended.

When the Demon God insulted Syble, he was given one chance to take his words back. When he refused, Syble killed it with little effort and then started killing all the gods who agreed with the demon god's provocations. It wasn't until Lystall intervened did the massacre come to an end. Interestingly enough, that was when the gods learned of Lystall's actual power, but that's a story for another time.

If it wasn't for Syble's pride and ego, he might have destroyed the demon race for their god's offense but he felt that killing something of a lower status was beneath him. They were immortal, true, but they weren't gods or divine beings so in the loosest sense of the term, they were "mortals."

A few thousand years after the High Humans had been relocated like toublesome animals in a city, Allanrael had been born. Allanrael was a clever youth who quickly realized that power can only attain so much. One must also have special connections if they truly wanted to get ahead in life. He was one of the few demons who actually received favor from a god, in his case, it had been Loki who favored him.

When the gods realized loki had favored a demon, his only reply was, "He seems interesting and your corner of the Universe is far too boring."

Loki had also taught Allenraul special techniques that had been created by the most powerless of the mortals, regular humans. These techniques allowed one to "cultivate" their power and absort energies from the heavens and the earth. Eventually, with enough time and effort...and talent, one could attain godhood, becoming a transcended mortal.

Allenraul had more time than he had talent. Already being immortal, Allenraul's mediocre talent was enough for him to attack the boundary that divided mortals and gods. Just five thousand years before Traigar destroyed the clan he had established, Allenraul became the second Demon God.

A couple centuries after Allenraul had transcended the mortal plane, two minor gods of war decided to put an end to him. It might have been because the gods hadn't ever like demons or thought they were a threat, it could also have been because the minor war gods wanted to test their power and Allenrael was a newbie. The reasons for the sudden attack on Allenraul's life didn't change the end result, he simply looked at them and they had exploded. It was unclear as to whether Allenraul had used his own power or if he had a certain understanding of some mystical Universal Laws, but the sudden and violent death of the two war gods couldn't be doubted. Shortly thereafer, Syble had set out to look for Allenraul.

At first, Syble had wanted to do nothing more than to probe Allenraul's abilities, but not only would Allenraul not fight him, he actively avoided Syble. Enraged, Syble was even more eager to find the demon god but he remained abnormally elusive. Eventually Syble gave up and Allenraul went into seclusion.

When Allenraul emerged from his seclusion, he learned that a High Human named Traigar had killed all of his descendants, over a girl. Not just any girl though, the girl was daughter to the Emperor (at the time) and sister to the crown prince of Dulsa. She was supposed to be wed to one of his own descendants. The last few years had been spent putting together a plan to kill Traigar while going through great pains to make sure the other gods weren't aware of his plans.

Allenrael had learned that Traigar had married Cirwyn had had three children together with her. All outstanding talents. Being a god himself, Allenrael quickly realized that Traigar's youngest, was a reincarnated god with some special circumstances but since Lynefra had been born an Elf and Man halfbreed, he wasn't too interested in the specifics. He was also aware that Traigar's second child was also a female with a fiery temper, much to his liking.

Aware of Cirwyn's loss in status due to her marriage with a High Human and the dissatisfaction of some key groups of nobles who held no small amount of power within Dulsa, Allenrael discreetly made some alliances. The most important ally within the Dulsan Empire was one within the house of Hallel. The partriarch of the Hallel family was old and disinterested, even in the interal affairs of the empire itself, yet he still retained his title of Imperial Magister. His sons were vying for their father's approval to become the offical heir. Once made the heir, they would gain all the titles and status of their father.

The first son of the Hallel family was a Commander in the military who was a direct subordinate of Traigar. He had a reputation for being largely ineffective and inefficient in his duties so he was a commander in name only and held the responsibilities of a mere Lieutenant - an aide. The second son of Hallel family was several hundred years old was known for being upright and studious. He had a wife and had fathered several children of his own, all male and all talented. The youngest was fourteen and hadn't yet officially been tested in aptitude for magic and inner-strength but showed a terrifying amount of promise.

The third son of the Hallel household was much like the first son. Lazy and ineffective. He neglected his body in the same way he neglected his responsibilities. A glutton by nature, he ate whatever he wanted in copious amounts, whenever he wanted. Hygene was apparently optional for the youngest son of Partriarch Hallel. He also had a habit of abusing women. He would forcefully take a pretty girl if he so chose and used his family's status as a threat against any would-be accusers. The only positive accomplishment in his life was given to him by virtue of his father's massive contributions over the years to the Empire. He had been made the Dean at the Royal Academy of Dulsa.

The first and third sons of Hallel were extremely dim-witted and eager for easy gains. Allenrael had decided to "help" both with their rise to power in exchange for helping him with his revenge. The task asked of the Commander was to deliver Traigar to Allenrael's hands, in return, the Commander would be allowed to claim an "easy" victory over some random group of demons trying to "invade," guaranteeing the Commander see a metorious promotion for services rendered and he would be declared a hero.

The third son, the Dean, was to give Altresca to Allenrael. The demon god had planned to capture and bind Traigar, forcing him to witness the deflowering of his daughter by the demon king. Allenrael thought it poetic, Traigar had destroyed his line of descendants so Traigar's descendant would grant him a new lineage. The Dean was promised to have whatever girl he so chose as well as the removal of his middle brother from the contest to be heir.

The two sons were too stupid to see that their father honestly didn't care and didn't plan to give his sons anything at all. Eventually the second eldest of the Hallel household would in all probability, be made an Imperial Magister himself, by virtue of his own accomplishments and his good nature. The other two sons wouldn't ever amount to anything unless it was something gifted to them because their father and their studious brother.

In a recent turn of events, Dean Hallel had communicated that he desired Traigar's youngest child, Lynefra. Initially the demon god didn't plan on fulfilling his promises to either of the idiotic Hallel men, but since Lynefra was a Nihili and the Nihili family was already the target of malice for the demon king, he thought he might as well gift Lynefra to the disgusting Dean.

================================================

The sun was already high in the sky by the time Lynefra and company emerged from Freyd's tent. The soldiers had long since taken care of the problems caused Lynefra when she had walked into the camp. "OFFICER ON DECK!" a soldier called as he saw Traigar emerge from the tent before Freyd. Looks of confusion were present as the soldiers hadn't been appraised of the general's presence and didn't notice when he showed up.

Lynefra was the last to exit the tent, her head still mostly covered by her randomly picked up veil. She noticed one of the soldier's eyeing her scornfully, like she had taken something precious. Is this veil yours? Lynefra communicated via telepathy.

The soldier blushed and nodded, his pointed ears turning red.

Lystall, I need something to cover my face.... Lynefra informed the goddess, remembering the effect she had on the soldiers earlier. There was a slight smugness in her tone.

I have just thing thing, Lystall replied enthusiastically. Lynefra was like a doll, and Lystall loved dressing her up. She pulled out a hood and mask that had been made by Kuzunoha and modified by Lystall. It matched Lynefra's current outfit as it was the one Kuzunoha and Lystall made specifically for her.

Freyd and Traigar were distracted by the soldiers as Lynefra removed the veil she had borrowed earlier and started to replace it with the one from Lystall.

"You could even cause trouble for me with those looks," Loki's voice sounded like it came from behind Lynefra, drawing attention from everyone present.

Lystall rolled her eyes while Lynefra silently cursed the god of trouble-making as she noticed everyone's attention on her. There was a sense of satisfaction in the back of her mind but she scolded herself for it.

Traigar and Freyd turned around just before Lynefra had gotten the veil on, thankfully they were too closely related to her and her change in hair color was too eyecatching for her heightened "charm" level to have much of an affect on them beyond making them feel slightly amorous.

Being so devoted to Cirwyn, Traigar inadvertently pictured his wife in bed waiting for him. Freyd had already met a girl years ago and was currently one the few suitors who stood out. Likewise, he only longed for the girl. The other soldiers, unfortunately, didn't have a blood relation to the city destroying beauty. Within seconds, there were several hundred more "tents" pitched in the Dulsan camp. Some of the men frowned and braving punishment, retreated to take care of themselves, others tried to stoically remain but were grinning stupidly. The soldier who was standing nearest Lynefra, waiting for the veil to be returned passed out after a minor eruption when she had handed the veil to him.

Lynefra had mixed emotions about the turn of events. Anger at Loki for intentionally causing this mess, pride - which she scolded herself for again, and concern. Lystall, any chance Aphrodite can help me control this?

Uhuhu, yes. Lynefra could tell Lystall was smiling from her eyes. It's actually not hard to control it somewhat, here- Lystall relayed some tips and pointers to Lynefra. Although, having Veorful's soul and an obscene amount of Aphrodite's favor, it will be impossible to completely negate it. It's part of your nature, whether you like it or not.

That's...unfortunate, Lynefra responded, disheartened.

Not quite, at least there's no man who can ever fight against you...except for those few who are so depraved it either doesn't affect them or their depravity is magnified by your charm. Fortunately for you, unless it's a god, no one can withstand a blow. Kuzunoha's voice sounded out in Lynefra's head as she felt a furry animal rub up against her hip.

Lynefra unconsciously reached down and scratched the fox's ear. When satisfied sigh from Kuzunoha came in response to the petting she asked amusedly, Kuzu, are you more fox or god?

"Lynefra, your hair?" Freyd snapped out of his dream.

His voice awoke Traigar who looked around and saw half the men had run back to their tents and the other half were staring at his daughter with lust in their eyes. "That's my daughter you swine!" he bellowed,

"And you can't so much as touch her unless you can beat me!" Traigar's voice sounded by his lips hadn't moved. Loki had borrowed Traigar's voice to cause trouble.

An unfortunate soldier was too drunk on Lynefra's charm to realize what was going on asked, "Does that mean I can't take her camping?" In response, Traigar hammer-fisted the top of the man's head and drove him a meter into the ground like a post.

"IF YOU WEREN'T A CITIZEN OF DULSA, I'D KILL YOU ON THE SPOT!" Traigar roared, his voice could be heard for several tens of kilometers.

Allenrael heard Traigar's roar from where he lay in wait to ambush Freyd. His patience had been used up waiting for the elven soldiers to arrive. They were several hours late according to his best estimations. "We know their location now, attack!" he hissed to the demons.

Like shadows, the demon warriors silently raced over to the dulsan camp.
