《The Grand General - MmoRpg》Chapter 11: Real training

Noah saw the clock and it was time to go into the kitchen to enjoy a lunch with his mother and dad. He was in a good mood thanks to his small achievements in vesper online.
Probably he could be considered a noob by the average player standard because he got his first level up after playing for hours, but Noah didn’t feel sad about it. He was training, he was slowly learning how to swing a sword in a practiced manner and he was enjoying his time, which was more than enough in his opinion.
Maybe some people saw in Vesper an opportunity to redeem their social position, or someone else saw in it a place to let loose the pent up anger and malcontent. What Noah saw in it was totally different, Divel was a city with his own life and he felt like a tourist in it. He enjoyed every little piece he saw in Vesper because it was a new, exotic and extremely interesting new world, ruled by concepts foreign to his normal life.
It could be said that the Governments did a really great job and perfectly centered their objective with this project, the only downside was that not every single citizen joined vesper yet. Official data showed that only about 20% of Earth population created a character but Noah was sure that it wouldn’t take a long time for that number to skyrocket. It was bound to happen, people were going to talk to their friends and acquaintances about the experience inside Vesper, it’s realism and the absorption it could give.
‘I feel like a pioneer from centuries ago. Setting foot where no one else did before, this thought is too exciting! Maybe I will lag behind in levels but surely I’m going to be the first general amongst people!!’

Thinking so he exited his room and went to join his parents at the table, where he found them sitting and waiting for him; his mother had an almost worried look on her face and Noah couldn’t help but think back to his activities of the day.
>
Looking at his dad, he replied with firmness:
Actually, you were right the other day, this turned out to be a gigantic distraction. My mind is full of thoughts about Vesper but I feel fine, extremely so. I had training, felt fresh air, fought small monsters and experienced a new life… you may think that I got estranged from reality but you are wrong! For the first time I desired to go outside to just see the world, and I did it.”>>
At that point, with an untrusting look, his mom asked :
>
His parents were doubtful about this government project called Vesper, but seeing their son so convinced, happy and supportive about it, they were a bit taken aback but long from changing opinion.
Dinner ended without other exchanging, they talked about random subjects regarding their acquaintances, relatives and community activities that, the mother and father duo, were going to participate.
Right after dinner Noah decided to sleep, he planned to attend every single session with Dominik and to do so, it was needed to adjust his sleep to follow the 2x time inside vesper; he decided to sacrifice a bit his sleep to get as much as possible from the Head Instructor training, even if it cost a bit of sleep.
It was early morning in Divel city and Pestilence came to be near the city walls, he made a beeline to reach the training fields and was greeted by the soldiers stationed at the entrance.
Noah had yet to get used to it, but now he was part of Divel’s infantry division! He couldn’t wait for the moment when he officially became a soldier.

Reaching the training fields, from afar, he could see a dancing figure. It flowed so fast that some dirt was spiraling around it.
That speed wasn’t something human like, it had the might of a tornado. After his first stupor, Noah had a guess on who it was inside that turbinating fury but didn’t want to disturb and interrupt that intense exercise. So he waited in admiration for ten minutes more, then the dance was finished and Dominik came out of the dust cloud surrounding him.
>
Noah nodded in affirmation and got inside the training field to demonstrate his two puny moves, the pressure he felt after having seen Dominik’s real capabilities was immense, but he did as asked and began entering his stance under the Head Instructor watchful gaze.
Dominik wore a pleased expression while watching his new trainee swinging the sword around. As he did every time that a new interesting trainee came to him, he couldn’t avoid to saw himself from many years ago. He remembered his motivations and aspirations that were moving him while training at his primes, he also remembered his lack of special abilities or any particular talent, except being enthusiastic about what he was doing; maybe feeling enthusiast about something is a talent in itself, he also remembered about his enormous efforts to achieve every bit of accomplishment he obtained. These were Dominik thoughts born from watching this youngster named Pestilence.
After his demonstration, Noah trained with Dominik at dodging again though it was different from yesterday. Today Dominik was going noticeably faster with his strikes and Noah had a hard time evading some, on two occasions the instructor had to stop his swings before striking Noah. Still, this hard and difficult warm up before today training bore his fruits and Noah got a sweet double level up on his dodging passive.
>
Saying so he walked to another training area leaving Noah resting on the floor.
‘Apparently, this is going to be a group training, maybe it’s the official training that has begun. By his words he could tutor me before this group training begin, I will monopolize this’.
