Five Months After Current Timeline
A Transcript: A Conversation Between CIA Director Hoskins and Secretary of State Roberts Regarding Details Of The Case Of Deceased Field Agents Virginia Hart and Shannon Wright:
Roberts: But why would the CIA order a shoot-to-kill against a USI agent?
Hoskins: It’s hard to give a credible answer without divulging state secrets.
Roberts: This is a privileged conversation. I’m the Secretary of State. I’d say you can speak freely here.
Hoskins: Mrs. Hart was acting insubordinately and was completely destroying an undercover operation we’d had in place for more than a decade. She was directly inciting violence against our organization, against USI, against innocent American lives.
Roberts: How was she doing this?
Hoskins: By openly going after Calvert. We were afraid that if she gained momentum, he would think that we sanctioned her mission and he would retaliate against us. Against innocent Americans.
Roberts: That sounds legitimate, if not like a talking point. But what about this Shannon Wright? Certainly her behavior didn’t warrant the shoot-to-kill order.
Hoskins: From what I understand, she attacked her supervisor, Paige, and he fought back. Let me be clear. Virginia Hart and Shannon Wright took matters into their own hands, endangered lives, completely destroyed a whole swath of our undercover work, and endangered many of our undercover agents. They are criminals and they were treated as criminals. We only followed protocol.
Roberts: It was our understanding that Virginia had asked to be put on Calvert’s case. But USI and the CIA jointly denied her requests though she had an impeccable and qualified record as a field agent. Even with her relation to her father, who was a highly-esteemed United States Senator for more than thirty years.
Hoskins: We had undercover agents at work.
Roberts: Like who?
Hoskins: Some of them are still undercover. I can’t name names.

Roberts: Understood.
Pause.
Roberts: You referred to Virginia as “Mrs. Hart.”
Hoskins: Excuse me?
Roberts: You referred to Virginia as “Mrs.” Virginia. I was under the assumption that she was single.
Hoskins: Yes, yes. She was unwed. I meant, “Ms.”
Roberts: What about Shannon?
Hoskins: Was she married? I don’t see how that’s relevant. But, no.
Roberts: Just a question.
Hoskins: Look, we didn’t kill Virginia and Shannon. They were killed by their own doing.
Roberts: But you did pull the trigger. What about Jake Turner?
Hoskins: He wasn’t supposed to be apart of this conversation.
Roberts: Maybe another time then.
Hoskins: Maybe.
Roberts: I guess the question is: was Virginia and Shannon’s undertaking successful or detrimental to our clandestine organizations?
Hoskins: Before I answer that, let me be very, extremely clear, for the sake of everyone involved. The shoot-to-kill order was necessary and wouldn’t have been given if it weren’t necessary. American lives were at stake. Innocent American lives. Virginia caused a whirlwind. Virginia and Shannon.
Roberts: And Jake.
Hoskins: Another time.
Hoskins finished up his interview with SOS Roberts and walked away with a bad taste in his mouth. He stepped out of the Capitol Building, unfolding his coat and putting it on his shoulders.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
8 132Depravity and Debauchery in the Southern Kingdoms
In a fantasy world of peace and prosperity, the elves decide the world is too diverse and create terrible weapons of mass destruction to corrupt the other races and maintain their superiority. Centuries later, they have completed their designs, but they didn't account for the everlasting influence of corruption, as it now creeps into their lands. This is the story of what men with no morals and nothing to lose set free upon the world after excessive consumption of both natural and unnatural substances. Corruption, vice and perversion haunt our protagonist. Will one writer fight against the terrible evil and obscenity, or will he fall to the depravity and debauchery of the southern Kingdoms? This story is about a bunch of terrible characters doing a bunch of terrible things. It will not be long, but I hope is an entertaining read!

8 201The Princess And Her Warmonger
"Let me tell you a true story about a mouse and a Warmonger, and the unlikely relationship that sprouted between them in the time of endless war." Nostalisk is a world in endless constant war. The Factions of this world endlessly fight for power, this fighting called the Great Wars, a war that has been alive for over four million years. Currently, one of the largest Factions has withdrawn from the endless fighting. This Faction, known as the Kingdom, hopes to forget their past of endless bloodshed and how they were almost destroyed because of it. In the Kingdom, Princess Isalene, the only princess of the Kingdom, is stuck choosing a new personal guard after her previous one died. Despite her father, King Robert, helping her choose a new guard, Isalene decides to head to the arena to see how the knights on the list her father gave her act outside of the eyes of royals. When she arrives at the arena, she sees a knight fighting that is not on the list her father gave her. Named Cruel Knight, this knight is a vicious knight with confusing morals. Despite hating violence, Princess Isalene can't help but be drawn to the knight and their graceful yet cruel fighting style and strange weapons. Princess Isalene continues to watch them and soon learns that Cruel Knight is a Warmonger named Sharia, and is female at that, meaning she is a prisoner. She isn't in there for something simple as disobeying a direct order or killing a noble, but for prolonging a war. Despite knowing this, Princess Isalene can't stop thinking about the Warmonger and suddenly gets a "smart" idea. She'll make Sharia her new personal guard to find out more about her! What could go wrong? And so begins the odd relationship between Sharia The Warmonger and Princess Isalene. One is a peace-loving sheltered naive princess who hates violence and the other is a vicious, cold, twisted, and cruel Warmonger who hates the kind of peace Isalene and the current Kingdom loves. Polar opposites. Yet, even the Warmonger can't help but grow a strange liking to her new "annoyance". But, can the two really get along? After all, Sharia's whole mindset sees Isalene as a waste, and it seems that everyone Isalene talks to tells her to fire Sharia before something terrible happens. But, then again, during this time of budding danger, this odd couple may be what the Kingdom needs. After all, when a large faction such as the Kingdom starts growing soft and weak, they become a rather irresistible target. [After thinking on it, I decided to start a re-write of The Princess And Her Warmonger, adding more details, fixing the switching POVs somewhat, and fixing some of the issues with the story. Don't worry, all of the chapters are still here, I am just making new ones and replacing the old chapters one at a time] (This story can also be found on Scribble Hub and Webnovel) [Cover art is not mine]
