Chapter 8

December 17th 1992

There were many ways to increase ones MP, Alex needed to do some research he needed to find a better way of gathering mana. What he needed was a formation. Alex had read about formations over the three month period but couldn’t find anything more than the description of helping mana gather in one place.

There was no formations in any of the Books at Hogwarts, They must be quite rare Alex had thought to himself.

Unfortunately Christmas was a couple days away Alex didn’t have the time to train like he did before. He still trained his body like before but could practice spells as much as he did.

Today alex didn't have any classes with any of his second year friends due to the way classes were arranged. Students from 1st and 2nd year share some classes while 3rd and 4th year would likewise share classes and so fourth.

The clases would be arranged like that till 7th year when students would learn the most arduous and difficult tasks, said 7th year student would be complex very complex possibly… dangerous.

After classes had finished classes he tried probing his friends but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't figure out the perfect gift.

Blue had grown to his adult size. It would have been difficult to keep blue a secret due to blue reaching adulthood if he already hadn’t been caught by another student fortunately he was allowed to keep blue, Dumbledore had allowed it.

Dumbledore had told Alex it would only be fair that he could keep Blue, Dumbledore also had a phoenix of his own after all.

Alex went to his room to take a nap he woke up 15 minutes later.

After alex had woken up he thought long and hard before he came to the conclusion that he should probably ask his friends directly.

Alex went down to the Gryffindor common rooms to see if anyone was there. No one was there in fact alex hadn’t seen anyone the whole morning.

“That’s odd” alex spoke to himself he looked around the room only now noticing the poster on the wall of the room.

Alex read the poster to himself “Lockhart’s dueling club”, How did I miss this? Alex thought to himself while grinning. Alex had trained for months he wanted to see his strength with his own eyes he only he knew that he was 4th ranked wizard. The teachers thought he was above average they thought he was a level 3 wizard.

Alex headed to the directions to the address stated on the poster. Alex walked into the classroom and noticed two students one in Gryffindor and one in Slytherin,the students dueling casted spells left and right.

The Slytherin student clearly had the advantage over the Gryffindor student.

“Flipendo!!” the Slytherin student shouted knocking the Gryffindor student back as it was the knockback jinx.

The Gryffindor student landed in front of ivan on his feet, seeing the student up close alex had recognized the him. His name was Bryan. He was a student who had asked Alex a couple questions. Alex patted Bryan on the back and spoke “Good Job you stuck the landing”, alex began smiling.

Malfoy made his way up to the front of students and spoke “Look Alex gives terrible advice look how easy it is to win against his pupil, maybe all the Gryffindor students should come to me for advice” malfoy made a mocking tone when he spoke the word “pupil”.

“Thats enough!” Professor snape scolded malfoy.

“Shut up malfoy!” a familiar voice sounded in the room, it was harry. Alex felt his heart move when his friend had tried defending him.

“You wanna have a go then Potter” malfoy gashed his teeth at Harry. Malfoy jumped up to the stage.

“Get back down here. Now.” Snape warned Malfoy.

As soon as Harry was going to go up the stage someone pulled him back down. It was none other than Alex.

“Allow me” Alex’s smile turned into a sinister grin.Harry nodded his head at alex. Alex turned to the stage, he calmly jumped up.

“Step down” Snape hissed at alex. Till finally Lockhart’s figure emerged from the crowd. “Allow them to teach each other professor, it would be a good experience don't you think?” Lockhart told Snape.

Lockhart thought to himself, If alex wins it could boost my fame around hogwarts even more “the professor that thought the first year student who beat the second year student ” heared student say in his mind, if alex losses he is a first year student after all. If the students heard him they wouldn't be able to hold back their disgust.

“Very well” Snape replied indifferently.

“Its you again?” Malfoy stated, “Are you sure you want to do this, first year” Malfoy again putting emphasis on the words “first year” with the same mocking tone when he said “pupil”.

“There may be a whole year apart from you and me Malfoy, but to me you only look, so so” alex shook his limp hand side to side in the air returning the same mocking tone that malfoy had used before.

So so? Malfoy became infuriated well then let me show you this “So so”.

“Stop spouting your nonsense if you're so great show me otherwise tuck your tail between your legs and get off the stage”

Both wizards took their “accepted combative stance”.
