" 'Woman disappeared in front of us- armed thieves claim'. What do you have to say for yourself Sam. You promised you'd stop." "It wasn't me mum. Did you even check it properly, it was in another country." "Like that has ever mattered". As much as I didn't want to admit it, she was right, it didn't matter that it was in another country. Lucinda Jacobs wasn't what anybody would call scary at first glance. Short, slim and graceful, she was always polite and kind, loved by all. That was until you got her mad. We'd been arguing about this for quite some time now and I was at that stage where I felt like I had to be stubborn or at least that's what she said. I don't know how to describe it but there's a certain type of joy I feel anytime I help someone. While I knew she understood that to some extent, I also knew she was scared of letting anything happen to me even though so far nothing had succeeded in harming me( guess I shouldn't have showed her that movie where Superman got killed with kryptonite).

Anyway, so I don't know what pushed me but I just couldn't resist saving the woman. Its not like any one saw me though, I made sure of that. By the way, what do you expect when you let a boy grow up watching superhero movies. They should be glad I liked batman more than the joker. "Sam! What are you thinking about." "Probably daydreaming again mum" was the reply from my little sister Evie. After a giving her a glare that promised revenge, I turned my attention back to mum. "Sorry mum, just remembering something. It could have been one of the others not me. You can't be sure." I've always known that I wasn't the only super but I've never been able to prove it. It was just something I've always felt with surety. My mum, not so much. "Don't give me that Sam. I know you better than that." "Okay mum. I did it. I saved her. And no I didn't hear her from here. My senses aren't that good. I was flying by when I heard her." "What were you doing in New Zealand?" asked my mum. " Nothing much just checking around." I should have shut my mouth. She sighed heavily, "you know I don't like you going to other countries without permission." "Nobody saw me. I made sure of that." "That's not the reason and you know it. You're breaking the law. Just because no one sees you doing it doesn't mean it isn't wrong." "I'm really sorry mum, it won't happen again." Another sigh "Now eat up before you go late to school." Guess she wasn't really angry then. "No fair. He got off too easy.", Evie cried. Looks like someone's wasn't happy. "Why haven't you gotten dressed Evie. You know the bus leaves in a few minutes,"mum said turning to face her. "Argh! Can't you take us to school?" "Yes I can but I won't. Now go get dressed and give your brother a break. He's deserves it. Its not easy facing what does. You know that." Evie grudgingly got up and stomped to her room muttering something about life being unfair. Checkmate. Sam:1; Evie: 0.
