My First Original Story (Made almost 10 years ago)
It was a dark night, Vanessa was sitting by the window wondering when her father would return, as the days went by, the days turning to weeks, the weeks turning to month eventually to years, Vanessa was now eighteen years old, she remembered the day he left.
Chapter 1: The Flashback
Rick was sitting at the table as there was knocking on the door, ‘it is time to leave’, it was Jack the captain of the ship, Rick was a sailor, once every few months they go out and get the resources needed for their town, and today was the day they were leaving, Vanessa was eight years old, and never liked it when Rick left on these kind of trips sometimes for months, Maria was also in the room sitting by the table she was the mother of Vanessa, Vanessa was upstairs in her room playing with some toys, she heard the door opening downstairs, she decided to listen in to the conversation from upstairs, she heard Jack apologize, ‘I am sorry, but we have to leave early tomorrow, the resources we got last month were barely enough to keep us up the past month, I expect you to be by the ship early tomorrow’, Rick nodded at the captain, as he walks off he stops for a second before turning around, ‘have a good night, and do not be late!’.
Rick waits a few moments as the captain got out of sight he closes the door behind him as Vanessa runs toward him, ‘Daddy do not leave!’, Maria and Rick both comfort her that her father was only leaving for a short while to make everything better in their village, since they were low on resources to survive the coming winter, Vanessa was stubborn she did not let go of Rick that whole night till she fell asleep, her father and mother brought her upstairs laying her in her bed, laying the blanket over her so she would not be cold, the next day Vanessa woke up she rushes toward her parents room, it was empty she quickly rushes down the stairs seeing her father sit at the table, it was very early in the morning, he smiles to her, ‘Slept well?’, she nodded to her father, but then she ran toward him crying telling him she did not want him to leave again, her father kneels next to her, ‘I will not be gone for very long, we just need get some resources from-‘ he stops his sentence, as he tells her ‘we will be back before you even know it’, he grabs to something in his side pocket, ‘I was going to wait till I returned to give you this for your birthday’, as he places his hand behind her back he slowly puts on the necklace, ‘this necklace brings luck wherever you go’, Vanessa still half crying not wanting him to leave still was now holding the necklace in her hands, ‘it is beautiful’, the necklace made with metal and on the bottom a seashell made of a colored rock.

Some hours went by her mother made them breakfast, but Vanessa did not want to eat she just wanted to be with her father before he left for maybe the coming month, as the sunrise was coming up very slowly, Rick stood up from the table, he grabs the fully prepared bag from the table by the door, as all three of them walk toward the harbor where the ship was at, it was big, not as massive as those rich country ships, but it was pretty big for a small village, the captain and a bunch of men and woman were waiting by the ship, the captain looked down from the ship upon them, ‘Hurry up Rick we got to leave before the sea becomes to wild!’, Jack always says this so Vanessa would let him leave with them, since she did not want him to leave at all, Rick smiles to Vanessa, ‘I will be back within the next few weeks, just promise me you wear that necklace when I come back’ she nods trying to smile, as he pats her head softly before kissing his wife, she tells him to not worry about them, as she will take good care of Vanessa till he returns, and that she will also make his favorite meal when he does.
Rick enters the boat walking over the planks laying there, on board they removed the planks, as she ship starts to sail slowly away he waves at Vanessa and his wife Maria, as the boat sails away further and further it becomes out of sight, Vanessa and Maria return to their home, as Maria tells her she will make her favorite meal today, Vanessa smiles at her mother.
This happened almost ten years ago, he never returned like he promised, but I will find him someday, Vanessa sighs as she is still sitting by the window, she looks outside as she sees a woman run into the forest.
To Be Continued.

Royal Guard (Complete)
I was an ordinary worker ant of the Kingdom, one of the millions populating a spread of land ten kilometers long. I had an ordinary life: I dug, I ate, and I slept; and a dream that was shared by all workers who wanted to live a life of adventure. I was on the last day of my mandatory community service, a day from becoming one of the harvesters --the crown jewel of our society-- when fate played its sick joke on me. I broke my mandible, lost my dream, and was almost forced into slavery as a result. That’s when she came into my life, a princess. She had no wings on her back, but the wings inside her were wider than the fairies that roamed the sky. She took me under her wing and populated my life with adventures and mysteries unreserved for a mere harvester. Life was good until we found termites sneaking into our territory. That’s when the adventures ended. She was mocked for calling the termites a threat. However, she remained determined to protect her kingdom, and I, to protect her. No matter the difficulties I remained by her side. Because we were a pair: a princess and her Royal Guard.
