Looking outside through curtains and a little bit of glass

All so breezy today

Missing everything and life is sweeping by

I want to go out of the window and up

Leaping and jumping, soaring through sky

I want wings made of starlight to propel me through the darkest nights

But if I do go out there, it's nothing waiting for me.

The future was a half-full glass, or on long nights it was half-empty but someone tipped it over. It shattered and smashed onto the pavement in a million tiny pieces and if I go out there, I step on them.

Day in and day out, sirens and trains and screaming horns go on and on and on

I like to look outside my windows on those days.
