Now I'm in the Beastmaster’s office, and yes, it's an actual office. After that awkward moment, everyone thought it would be best.

…So now I am here in her office while she sits on her desk playing with a blue glowing crystal. What is that?

“Curious?” She asked making me jump. What are you looking at me like that for? This lady makes me tense…

...but I'll admit I'm still curious…

“Hmm~, hmm~, hmmm~, I guessing that adorable stare means yes?” She said then giggled.

“Basically I'm making a spell circuit, I need to make a new bind spell, the current one was broken when a certain fox looking creature broke out of it,” she continued.

Does she mean me? Wait magic? Hmm..

“Yep” she said cheerfully reading my thoughts. Ugh, I'm never going to get used to that. How does she do that.

“Hmm, reading body language, facial expressions, and by the way your ears move ever so cutely.”

“Aw come on don't pout”

You would too lady if you were roped away from home, turned into an animal, hurled through space, and then turned into a damn pet.

“Hmm, sorry I might be good but not good enough to catch all of that. Can you mouth it? I can read lips,” She said.

“What's with that blank stare? Hmph, fine I'll start working on my spell then,” she said and started mumbling about how I'm no fun.

Well… not like I wanted to be here…

I'd rather be at home playing video games. But no, I’m here, in a world I know nothing about, have a different body, and worst of all I can't even fucking talk right. Maybe I can see if the letters in books look the same, hopefully those earlier heroes at least fixed language issues.

She said bind crystal earlier…. maybe I should steal it and used it on her… I will not be a damn slave.

{Iona’s PoV}

My classes have ended for the day. Now I am in the library. The reason is so I could find what manner of creature my familiar is. I've inquired from a few teachers what they think he is, because I certainly know that he is not a cat, dog, or even wolf beastian. Beastian are creatures that resemble humans but have a few animal parts, but anyways, none of them have multiple tails.

They believed he was a type of beastian, but which one? None of the professors I talked to knew. After spending a few hours trying to find anything related to beastians, I had a whole pile of their history sitting in front of me. The problem is that nothing even remotely similar to my familiar’s description even came up. Their legends or history do not state anything about multiple tailed beastians. I need to look into this more.

Sigh… guess I should go retrieve him…

On my way back to the beastmasters office, I pass by all the familiars and they are all silent. It's nice that they aren't loud and rambunctious… but that's how they normally are. Something is going on. I run to the office and as soon as I reach the door, I hear….

{Niles’ PoV}

“I doubt you would be able to use it, so don't even bother” said the beastmaster. Fuck, she noticed.

“Why are you so wary of that thing? It's just a restraint in case a dragon or something gets rowdy. It can't enslave anything, then again the name “Bind” can sometimes be interpreted that way, and by the way, any type of slavery is illegal here,” she continued “even though familiars are similar in a way, they are not slaves. Familiars are more considered partners, so if they are mistreated, there are steep penalties.”

I really don't believe you lady, I need more information. Sigh.. fuck.

“”What's to say you aren't lying to me” you say?” She says shocked that I'm mouthing the words. I took a gamble asking that, but it's probably going to be a pain in the ass later.

“It's one of the rules that the last emperor gave. He was a hero, so he knew what slavery was like.” She replied. When she said hero… she said it in contempt. Just what is her history… I… don't wanna know. And what does she mean he knew what slavery was like? I'm kinda glad I wasn't summoned as a hero, if my line of thinking is correct…

“Well, I believe that is enough for now. It seems your summoner is here.”

“Eep!” Said Iona.

Me and the beastmaster stare at her for a few moments not believing she made such a cute sounding noise.
