《The Rising of a God》Starting point

*POV: William Hughes*
In this world there are supreme beings that are capable of destroying worlds. But what can you do in order to protect the people you love? I don't know and I will never know. I have none.
Here I am at my lowest point. This life should have ended a lot sooner but I don't have another opportunity and have to keep going. Sitting in the rain while people pass me without recognizing me.
Casually waiting for my partner while he is doing the annoying parts at the guild. It's so called "Menacing Kings". One of the biggest guilds around here in the north of Draknar. This is how we call this world.
We are called the "Threatening Kings" because these old farts from above think they are better than everyone else. But we small groups are the ones who do the dirty work for them.
But here I am. Part one of the biggest guilds in this country. But why can't I be happy? That's pretty simple. Life is shit even though I have kind of a caring partner. Speaking of the devil, there he is.
He has long brown hair, a big nose with some pimples on his face. However, he is still relatively muscularly built for his age. Yet he is now already 30 or something and I am only 16. Today he looks a bit grumpy. Besides his quite normal figure, something seems to be wrong today.
"What's wrong old man?" I asked while I was wiping away the rain from my messy hair. And what am did I become back? Just a ferocious look on his face while crunching his teeth. What the hell was going on with this guy again?
"Old man, I asked you something!" I said out loud with not that much patience in my voice anymore. He already left me some meters behind but then he turned around and in a matter of milliseconds I had his sword up my larynx.

Getting closer to my ear I felt something again. He poked me with the finger in the rib cage. "What was that for??" I said in furiosity. "What did I tell you? What are the two most important rules when you want to build a group with me, Hughes?"
How many times did I tell him not to call me Hughes. "You know that I don't want to..." "I asked you what the rules are... Will" he interrupted me in the middle of my sentence. "I probably know them better than you because you were damn drunk that night we first met. The first rule is that I always have to take care of myself so you don't have to worry about anything and the second is that you always want to have your fun..." I replied without hesitation.
He takes of for a ride with a glance on his face. Most likely, we are heading out on another mission that the guild has sent us. "Old man, what exactly did they say to you from upstairs to make you come downstairs so pissed off?"
"Oh you know, the usual. I just wanted to give you a good scare because you've seemed pretty absent and weakened lately." he answered with a glance on his face again. Something must be wrong or different from just a day ago but I don't know what.
*POV: Old man*
That kid is insanely scary. What did he just do there when I approached him in the blink of an eye. That dead look on the inner of his eye. He was ready to die and kill me in the same moment. Unfortunately, I don't know how he managed to get another knife out of his sweater in that brief moment and hold it to my stomach.
Hopefully that kid didn't understand that I recognized his acting right there. He is an insanely dangerous creature to society. Already at this age. I am 31 years old and I have never seen such a skilled person. Especially not at this age.

"Hey Will, we are heading to Bosworth. It's a three day ride from this city. As far as I know it's not as big as this city but it has quite some interesting things to see." I told him casually while walking towards a horse shop.
I have to get rid of him as soon as possible. The guild wants me to keep the boy in check so they can use him for their purposes. Actually, I'm already afraid of him, but I'll do a few more missions with him and then somehow break away from him.
Don't know how it will work but he will be fine. With that strong divine beings in him he will be fine. It's a fact that I could never sense his "god" in him. But what are these "gods" really. We just call them "gods" because we can't really understand them. These divine beings give us powers we could have never imagined of.
We are both so called "Holders". We can maintain a longer connection to one being and that's already very rare. But I was able to hold one of the "gods" for one month when I was 25 years old. In fact this kid has never changed his "god" and he is really only just 16 years old. This world is just too crazy for me.
*POV: William Hughes*
"Bosworth? Sounds quite fun my friend." I beamed a smile. But what am I saying there. I was all alone forever. Out of nowhere I call a guy like that my friend. But whatever, who cares about such idiotic things now. We have to head for Bosworth now.
On the ride we saw a lot of different creatures again. For example there were some things like bears but they had legs like our horses. I can't really explain how they really looked to me. Anyways, the old man just killed him with his "god".
I am kind of jealous because his being can produce lightnings from nothing and mine can... I don't really want to think about what it really can.
We were getting close to Bosworth and Jack, that's how I call the old man, finally started to tell me something about our mission there. "Will, we have to take down three divine beings that are out of control. The bosses know how powerful we are and that's why they gave us the mission to win even outnumbered against the beasts." he mumbled in his curvy beard.
"You know that I don't like to use my god. And I also won't use it this time. We have to win with only your powers and my sword skills." making clear that I won't be that much of a help in the upcoming fight. "But why don't just use it once. You could do so much..." "Shut up, I told you not to ask me that kind of shit. You also know that I won't talk about it and that's it. So leave me alone with my thoughts." I looked towards Bosworth.
We were near. Only two minutes until we would reach the starting point of our new mission. I am looking forward to this new adventure. Getting away from the thoughts and might die in there. Wouldn't be that bad...

Sector 27
It wasn't until June 3, 2101 that World War 4 ended. This was not a war that ended in peace treaties or truces; this war ended with disease. The atomic war caused plague and disease that crippled major countries. The generals and great leaders of the countries at war died from the radiation that penetrated every part of the globe. It was only then that humanity realized what they had done- what they had created. The first ever mutant was publicly executed the very day the war ended, and a new war began: the war against mutants. The surviving nation of Japan quickly rebuilt their country by dividing it into safe zones, or Sectors. There are currently 26 livable sectors in Japan; Sector 1 is the richest sector and the only sector that has completely rid itself of all radiation left over from the war. In fear against the threat of mutants, the once small section of the police force grew until it became the main police force in Japan. After all, humans shouldn't be blamed for crimes when the real threat to society is mutants. This police force that goes by their motto: Special Treatment Against Mutants (STAM) is comprised of agents that go about their work to capture and detain all mutants. Sector 26 is the poorest sector that humans can barely survive in; but there is one more part of Japan. This "dead zone" has such a high concentration of radiation that if a human were to step inside the barrier, they would die in mere moments. But within this dead zone, this 27th Sector, there lies a secret organization of mutants that fight against STAM and protect all mutants from their grasp. The Mutant Recovery and Protection Agency (MRPA) operates to hide mutants in society and allow them to live human lives. The only thing that stands in MRPA's way is STAM and its agents who hunt them down ruthlessly, so MRPA has their own set of skilled agents. And the battle rages on...

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
