Chapter 2: Other Skill?

After the storm, I somehow landed right in front of a cave, traumatized by the wind, I quickly grew my roots in the earth each time I feel the air is a bit windy. A human couldn’t possibly understand how I felt after being carried even by a gentle breeze. If I can forget things easily, I wish to forget about it. It was humiliating that I will not want to mention about it. I’m ashamed because I’m too weak!

ENOUGH! Forget it! Shoo, go away, go far away memory.

I sway my leafy hand left and right to destroy the cloud of memory to forget the humiliating event as I ran away from the reality by changing the topic.

I stare the cave that is right in front of me, tempting me to enter it.

Fufufu… Though I am not a man, humans are beings that live to explore the unknown! But, life isn’t a plaything. What if there was a monster? Hm… Well oh well. I might as well blame the god because he was the one that turned me into this weak weed. JK. [Just kidding]

I will not enter the cave. Not yet at anyway.

In the past, before I enter the busy world of an adult, I used to play RPGs-genre games and read few comics that has RPG genre to it. So, even though I have long left the paradise of a gamer, this kind of occasion make my mind goes wild. I was going back and forth thinking the risk of entering this cave.

My only skill is the level 5 parasite; if I enter an unknown cave and run into a beast, there is no doubt that it will send me packing to see the death god... Plus, my mobility isn’t good, to begin with. I’m definitely the fastest weed that exists in the whole universe, but in comparison with any other beast, I might be the slowest. I could never risk my life for this trial and error.

So after a monumental battle between my mind and my heart, I had decided to gain another skill.

Oh! OH! OHHH! In front of me, there is a window of skills list.

As I tapped on the [more] button lightly, it shows the next page of the skill. Here, I have 100 skill points, and there seem to be some good skills that are cheap! After a minute or so, the skill window disappeared from my sight.

Rather than that, I think I’m not quite ready for the cave just yet. First and foremost, I am a plant type monster which requires water and the sun as a life force. I don’t know whether it has water in this cave or not, but certainly, there is no sun inside it.

And so, I decided to continue to wander around this forest, at least until I have become strong! For my skills, I would like Enhanced Vision and Enhanced Hearing. But Appraisal-san is seriously tempting.

The thing is, Parasite-chan is an active offensive skill. The three babies [skills] that I just adopted earlier are passive skills. I don’t know how to activate the skill since I have been doing the trial and error ever since I reincarnated as a weed. Passive skill should be automatically on, but there’s no difference from before and after I got them!

Let’s see, Parasite-chan was activated intuitively by thinking that I want to activate it. By concentrating and move my body a little bit toward where I want to latch on, I can use Parasite. I came to a conclusion that if I use my mind to think what I want the skill to do, then they will do it exactly as I want them to. So, if I think I want to enhance my vision then will it do the same?

Calculation is the one that I obtained after counting how many hours I’ve trained. Then I obtained Memorize after I’ve listed all my skills. Awhile later, I gained pain resistance after I ran into a boulder while I was excited that I the speed movement evolved into Fast Movement. I was so excited that I danced and eventually I obtain the Fool Dance.

Hehe…

There wasn’t anyone to see me, so I ignored the announcement and it raised up till Level 4.

Parasite-chan was growing slower than the others because I was afraid of the consequences of wilting too many trees.

Enhanced vision made me see further ahead and in more detail. At first, it made me dizzy and took me quite a while to get used to it. But this skill is especially useful. At night, I’m still unable to see clearly because it’s dark, but I’m not worried at all since I got Enhanced Hearing that made me able to hear even the earthworms’ movement underground made me glad that in my past life, I wasn’t scared of insects. Then, because of Heresy resistance, I was able to use the skills comfortably. If there was any danger, I could just run away since I am now fast.

By now, I gradually accepted the fact that I have become a weed.

The thing is, right now, I can’t seem to understand why the wolf is crying so loudly. He looks fine, yet he keeps yelling and crying toward the huge crack on the ground that seems to be affected by the earthquakes.

My life worth more than my curiosity, however, amicably I can't ignore them. So, let's start off by observing and pays attention to my surrounding. If I concentrate...carefully, aside from the wolf’s howling, birds chirping, I could hear whimpering cries like a puppy. Is that the wolf pups?

Next, I plan on use a rope, or something similar to it like tree vines, and tie it to the wolf and its baby. Using the wolf’s strength, the baby will be pulled upward. Yep, first and foremost, the most important thing is to make the wolf understand me.

While the wolf is crying for its cub, I gathered a really long tree vine around a human toes size that is hanging on the tree branches which turns out to be very strong even though it is pretty light, so I was able to carry it. While gathering the tree vine, I use silent movement to level it up a little bit for precautions. I use 『Silent Movement』while the wolf was distracted since I am small and light, I could jump around the wolf body without it noticing me. Then, I jumped down into the hole and found the baby already lying weakly on the ground.

I jumped around its body, crawled under it and tied the tree vine to it. Finally, I climbed the tree vine to return back on the ground. Just then, I saw the wolf glare and snarling at me.

Grrrrrrr…

The moment I activated the taunt, simultaneously, I ran away without caring about the little puppy’s condition.

Even with Fear Resistance Level 4 doesn’t help to decrease my fear and I’m in a state where I’m out of my mind. I have been shouting loudly inside my mind, asking for help that will never come… I feel extremely exhausted.

Although I feel like pissing myself after traumatized by the wolf, I’m glad that wolf was able to get it’s puppy out safely. Right now, I’m observing them from above, and I saw that they are happily licking each other after the reunion. It seems like the wolf has finally decided let go of me. I could finally take a deep breath in relief, and would if only I had a nose.

What a touching scene~. I rested on the tree branch, for precaution, I grow my legs into the branch. Mindlessly blank as I stared the beast and its baby, I wondered if my family is also worried about me in the previous world.

Anyway, I recalled that I have obtained a large sum of profit from this event! In addition to the skills that I adopt has grown up, I also gained some OP skills, if I remembered it correctly.

Fear Resistance > LV 4, Fast Movement > LV 3, Gravity Resistance [New], Observe [New], and even Calculation has become level 4. How great!

Although I found it odd, these skills were obtained not from using my skill points but by my own effort. From now on, I might be focused on gaining other skills rather than using my skill points!
