《Re: Pessimist》Chapter 5: Daring Escape!

Earth Resistance-1>10
Fuck me, that was a challenge. It's really hard to eat something when you're not hungry, at this rate I might get an eating disorder. Well, guess I'm heading out now! And it's about time as well.
Wow, so your entire motivation is alcohol? I... don't know why I'm surprised since it has been so clear. Maybe it's because I'm shocked I didn't think of this much sooner. So, where are you heading of to first?
No fucking clue. I'm going to escape this academy, wander around until I find a town or something, get a map and see where all the good shit is and steal it and drink it all.
... I don't know why I had high hopes.
We're going on an adventure, do you expect there to be any set journey? I think you go deaf whenever I speak.
"Alfred!" Flare's voice was about to speak but was unfortunately interrupted by my dear aunt-mother. "Are you awake?"
Well, she's down the hall, so should we escape now or deal with her?
Dealing with her will ensure that you don't get caught.
Okay, it's good we're on the same page, Flare! Codependence is really a good relationship!
I raised up my hand towards the door, still standing in my crib, repeating the same process as when I lit my crib on fire but this time Flare intervened.
WHOA, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO KILL YOUR MOTHER ONLY TWO DAYS AFTER YOU'VE BEEN BORN? SERIOUSLY, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO TRICK HER OR SOMETHING NOT JUST FLAT OUT MURDER HER!
Flare, at this point I don't really care, if I kill her we won't ever have any issues relating to elves or shit like a baby gone wild or something. What's so bad about killing her exactly?
SHE IS YOUR MOTHER! SHE GAVE BIRTH TO YOU!
And...? That's really your only reason why I shouldn't do anything? Flare did you not read the description of Depressant of Gods at all?
Hey! I'm all for escaping but you are going to murder someone so easily! At least create a distraction, don't just murder her!
Fine, if we get shit for doing this I'm blaming you.
Deal!
I continued to proceed with the fire powers, except I aimed both of my hands below me so that I could start a big enough fire that doesn't get Flare in a mood. It went great! Flames were everywhere, smoke was rising, the entire room and everything below it was burning completely! I was also sent flying high into the sky, the floorboards were painful.

Well, I just have to imagine a smaller flame and the thrust from the flames on my hand should be enough to keep my hovering in the air.
Flare did find it the appropriate time to appear before me with a gentle smile might I add.
"Happy?" I grumbled at her, I didn't bother to look down below at the academy and instead just flew off into a random direction. Huh, why didn't I use this before?
"Yup! I didn't think you'd listen to me." Flare had her usual elation and we came in on a road which was about 50 meters or so away from the entrance of the academy, I stood there and turned around to see the entire building burning.
"So, I spared my mother and killed a lot of people in the process. We good?" Flare was nodding before she examined my words carefully. She looked at the building in horror.
"I didn't tell you to do that! I asked you to create a distraction and you just buzzed off into the sky! You misunderstood me!" Flare tried to blame me, which is a new thing for her.
"Oh, it's my fault? I tried to kill my mother on the floor which was decently high, there were only three floors above me which were accessible to only the strongest since when I flew up I saw a lot of important people thanks to the wildfire skill which slowed things down. My mother wouldn't be prepared and would die, so would the people on the floor, however everyone below would evacuate and the people above were strong enough to exit unharmed. The casualties were only on one floor. If anything, you caused more damage by being against my mother's death. My mother survived, since she could've used the other not burning side to escape. So did all the people above. Yet everyone below died, that's five floors. That's more casualties than my idea." Flare suddenly realised that her idea was pretty shit.
"Oh no..." well, you win some and you lose some, that's how the stone rolls. I patted Flare on the back, she was oddly surprised by it.
"Well, let's get going, we have a lot of shit to do." I used my hand to pour some Royal Elven wine into my mouth, before turning around to see a... really long road. "I've eaten a lot of wood, so I'm good for a while."

Level up! 1>10
[Lesser Elven Mages killed]x50[40,000 XP]
(STR: 5>55)
(INT: 70>120)
(WIS: 100>150)
(END: 10>60)
(DEX: 10>60)
Next Level: [0/20,000]
Wait a second, this means that each individual elf mage was worth 800 xp, that's cheap. Seeing as I got to level 10 and I killed 50, that means I leveled up upon killing five. That means I had to get 4,000 xp to level up for each level.
And if twenty is the average for a human male then I'm already stronger than one... and I'm two days old.
Huh, sounds cheap.
You killed 50 and levelled up 10 times? I knew elf mages were powerful even when they were lesser mages but still! You've already reached about half the strength of peak human strength!
Okay, I know it's going to come to light eventually so I'll get it out of the way. You're saying peak human strength. On average what are the peak strengths for all species?
For humans it's 100. Dwarves it's 500. Elves it's 1000. High elves it's 10,000. Royal elves it's 100,000. And... anything else has no limit. Like an Eldritch.
Eldritch? Are we in lovecraft world? Holy shit is Cthulhu here? Can I meet a Cthulhu? Woman, why didn't you tell me this before?
You would have said 'oh, sounds boring, don't want to hear it.' I would have happily explained it to you. Now, yes the status limits for the races are high but it's difficult for all to achieve them. That is why humans can declare wars on elves. We are different as well.
Oh, oh my god, are we an Eldritch? Are we Cthulhu? If we're Cthulhu I will declare that you are indeed the person I would hypothetically love in an ideal reality which will come to existence.
... We're not Cthulhu. Have you not been paying attention to your status or skills at all? Why do you think you're so good at flame magic and alcohol generation?
Because I'm the goddess of them. Oh... I see what you're getting at.
As you level up more, the higher the experience threshold will be and therefore the more experience you'll have to gain for deities they get stronger really fast, explaining why you're already at half the level of a peak-condition human. However-
I think there's some other god who also has an incarnate and wants to do some weird shit or something and we also will have a tough time gaining experience since when we're stronger our experience threshold will be really high. Okay, with that out of the way, let's go find a pub and Cthulhu.
Wait, why are you after Cthulhu? I'm not even sure he exists.
I have an option to meet a giant creature of the deep sea, I want to find that damn Cthulhu and have a drinking party with it. How often are you able to have drink with a giant monster which is going to kill you?
Wait, how are you sure that the giant monster isn't going to kill you?
I began walking, heading down the giant road before us... might as well get started on it now.
And I think Flare should already know the answer to that question...
Title Gained:
Goddess of Nihilism/Void
After incarnating as Alfred(Previously known as Ewan), the Goddess known as Flaryvn
has lost all meaning in everything after taking the lives of many.
Due to this, she has come to embody what the term Nihilism is and is no longer affected
by anything that is associated with meaning or emotion.
Due to this, the goddess is able to draw great powers from it to bestow great
despair upon people.
...
I know I'm just a blue box, but that doesn't seem right.
Nihilism is what is caused when cosmic and physical order
is rejected by the individual and causes them reject the
idea of universal moral laws. This means that the entire
idea of a higher purpose becomes silly and they go
rampant in despair of how there is nothing for them.
Its idea is based on the death of god and how when the
main thing is taken out of the equation they lose faith
and in turn lose everything, including purpose. Nihilism
isn't even a good thing. It's caused by the loss of faith, how
the hell can a God exist for it?
There's no obligation, no anything, no nothing!
Hey, you two! Listen to me! Pay attention to these
notifications! HEY!
A/N:
Don't you hate it when blue boxes are ignored? No, well okay then...

8 82Warrior, Wizard, Demon Queen?
Sometimes death would be the end of it all. Not for her though. She isn't so lucky. She gets a second chance at a life of sorts as Keza'zoth. … Even if it quite possibly won't be much of a life. It wont be life as she used to know it either. Life can be pretty tough for a young demoness after all. … Sword and Sorcery? Sure. Dungeons, Dragons and all that? Probably. Hardships and Peril? Most certainly. … Fame and Riches? Maybe. If she gets really lucky. Or if she works really hard. Cover done by me. The story is currently updated once a week. 8 160The Systems of the Multiverse - A Guide for the Multiversal Traveler
The Systems of the Multiverse have their issues. I, an observer from outside the multiverse have made it into my mission to tell you, the multiversal traveler about those issues and dangers. This is a relatively low effort NaNoWriMo and Writhathon project. I want to test myself if I can manage 55k words in a month, likely updating every single day until the end. This story is told in the form of an in universe book. Well, I say story... While this definetly won't be great, I still hope it will be enjoyable. I do my best to avoid grammar mistakes and spelling issues, but won't promise anything. Corrections are welcome, this is also an excercise to improve my writing from a technical standpoint. Not from a worldbuilding and character standpoint however, for that you need time. Oh, the keyboards (and computers) that the observer destroys are not real and only exists in story to have an excuse to easily end this story at the end of NaNoWriMo. I also personally like reading LitRPG stories, so this isn't meant to hate them. It might come over that way, but many of those issues are simply fun to think about: what would really happen if the world is so, seen through a lease of negativity :-) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
