《Clockwork powers? Sure! Wait, why am i on a fantasy world?》Chapter 12 - dealing with politics

Raphael - what kind of pact?
Mitch - well, a hero needs financial backup for equipment and other affairs, and in return you will be known for having a hero by your side, something that gives one fame among nobles and may even force them to respect you and your family, even if they are shun by society.
Mitch's speech gave the man cold sweats, he had before him the chance to change it all, with the right moves he could end the prosecution of his family and influence the beliefs of this whole kingdom.
Raphael - i would love to, but i don't believe i would have the financial power for such a thing.
Mitch - wait, don't be so hasty! Just because you can't afford to be my “sponsor” does not mean we aren't able to make a deal!
Raphael stared at him, making eye contact for a couple of seconds before nodding in understanding.
Raphael - i see, i guess we can always make a deal like that but i would have to talk with my wife over my daughters hand.
Mitch - Not Talking About THAT!!!(although ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)???) I meant finding more people to help out, i'm sure you're not the only one with such views that has financial power, among nobles and merchants there are sure to be more in the same situation as you or that support you, dont you know of anyone that can help?
Raphael looked at the ground for a second before turning to the side and looking at the crowd around.
Raphael - i..i might be able to find some people, but it will take some time, in about a week i should have everyone gathered.
Mitch - i guess that settles it then.
They both shook hands accepting what they had gotten themselves into.
Raphael - just one last thing! You are an apostle to which God?
Mitch - I have no idea. Bye.

Mitch walked away as the family looked at him in confusion.
He looked back only to have the angry face of the wife look at him as if her skin would shatter at any moment.
The party went on through the night as a few more guests arrived and food was brought in.
As time passed fewer and fewer people stopped talking with the heroes as they either rejected them, were ignored or the rare deals was made.
People celebrated, for this would be one of their last chances of having fun without any cares, as soon as the flood started they would be in a constant state of tension that will only aggravate as the tougher waves come.
With the night going and people relaxing ( getting tipsy), some started being more friendly and even daring each other into messing around.
Noble girl - hey, which one of the heroes is the strongest between you all?
The 20 something girl giggled with her friends as she talked to Daniel.
Daniel - I don't wanna brag too much since i don't know the others abilities for sure but i am quite skilled with bows so i think i will do well enough!
His voice sounded within the almost quiet room, making the nobles ask themselves about the strength of each hero.
They had made deals and pacts but how much would they be worth when their hero was either dead or turned out to be an incompetent.
They asked around trying to find out and notice anything that could tell them more about their strength until a few grew the balls to ask directly.
They started by questioning their chosen hero and then comparing with what they could find about by nagging the others.
Noble 3 - excuse me, i know this may be bothersome but could you show us part of what you can do?
Morpho - there ain't much we can do at the moment, it would be better to wait around but i guess we could show them your *arm*ament , just wait a second im gonna change a few things. Pull your sleeve up to your shoulder!

Mitch did as instructed and felt it turn to the normal gauntlet like form but this time it's outer shape had changed again.
The base of the forearm had widened by quite a bit turning almost double the thickness of his normal forearm, this thickened arm was hollow however as almost no weight was added to it but that soon changed, he felt 4 distinct weights being added and a fifth one that ran from one end to another which started on his finger and ran down.
Morpho - a little modification for an extra humpf.
Mitch kept his cool and acted as if he was the one in control as he spoke with those around im.
Mitch - first of all this is my weapon, there does not appear to be many like it so you know it's mine. Its serves as both armor and weapon.
Noble 3- is that all! Very well then.(mumbling) i made a pretty good choice then.
The party soon came to an end after a small speech by the king and a few members of the congress with their plan for the future.
King - we have come to the end of this event and as such we will announce our plans for the upcoming “tribulations”, the announcement of the waves will be sent to the masses in 2 weeks, so that we have time to prepare more calmly and save the treasury from the huge toll in the price increase known to occur as the waves are announced, during that time we ask you to make the preparations for recruitment and/or allocation of troops within the land offered onto you to rule.
The members of the congress went on to specify any details that might not have been understood while the heroes were taken to their rooms.
They would need a good night's rest for the training that would follow.
*In mitch’s room*
He sighed of relief as he jumped and stretched himself atop the bed.
Mitch - hey Morpho?
Morpho- …
Mitch- morpho?
Morpho- …
Mitch - come on wake up i have a lot to ask you! Morpho, Morpho, Morpho, Morpho…
Morpho - WHAT!?
Mitch- i wanna ask you something.
Morpho- what is it about?
Mitch- i wanted to ask you about a lot of things actually. What are you exactly? And what can you do? So far i've seen you try a lot of things but you never told me what you were doing; and let's not forget earlier today when you made me pass out and almost KILLED me.
Morpho- i'm a relic that grows with its user, i can do a lot of things, mostly making robots and managing them and making modifications on myself, and lastly i wasn't gonna kill you since you can't die from that.
Mitch face twitched and he yelled inside his mind: she said i*. Before being interrupted by Morpho.
Morpho - no you wouldn't, you aren't like them, you are half human half ”them”, you don't have a mana stone pumping your blood so mana deficiency won't kill you, but it will feel quite uncomfortable.
He calmed himself and sat back against the wall while taking of his uncomfortable shoes
Mitch - alright, i guess that will do for now, wait i got one more. You said you could modify yourself right?
Morpho - yeah! Why?
Mitch - can you turn yourself into a sword or a bow?
Morpho - i can, but wouldn't a revolver be more useful instead of the bow?
Mitch - wait, what?
Morpho - nothing.
Mitch - don't tell me “nothing”, you just said you can turn into a gun, now that's something i can work with!
