Chapter 3- Meoka
The old man had a terrifying voice which did not match his sweet face at all. Ken was took by surprise by the fact that the old man suddenly teleported behind him.
"Pretty eyes you have child."
Ken laughed awkwardly and thanked the old man for the compliment.
"I've already heard all about you from my darling granddaughter, but I'm sure you don't know much about me. I'm Arthur, I've been studying Meoka for 31 years now. Tell me my child, what is it that you seek?"
"Power"
"No shit you want power but why is it that you seek power."
"I want to make those at null suffer for their sins. I will bring the hammer down on them for everything they've done to my home."
"I like that look in your eyes child, you have a strong will, be it as it may do you have the willpower to keep up with my training?"
Without any hesitation Ken said yes. The old man led Ken and Mia down a grass path behind his house which was covered in grass vines.
They arrived at a destination which was a platform surrounded by water fountains on all four sides. In the middle of the platform was present a rock, the rock was small in size but anyone could tell the value of the rock just by looking at it.
"This rock has been with me for many years now. The person holding the rock can use their powers without any effort."
"Without any effort? Is there something required for us to do to use our powers? " Said Ken.
Arthur gazed deeply into Ken's eyes. He stared at him for atleast a minute before saying: "You really do remind me of him."

"Him? Whose him?'
"Forget about that for now. We're gonna start our first lesson today. The Meoka power system is made up of eyes of different colours. Based on what Mia told me you come from Jikan islands despite those eyes of yours so you've probably not seen many people with eyes like Mia's and mine."
"No I haven't master."
"You see my eyes allow me to use illusions of things, that's why It looked like I teleported behind you when we first met while it was actually just you seeing an illusion."
"That's awesome how do I do that!"
"Well that's the problem. Your eyes hold a power so beautiful yet so dangerous it has the potential to destroy the world."
"What's my power."
"I have no clue. Only the people at null would be knowing about the power your eyes hold."
Ken clenched his fists in rage and remembered all the things done to him by null. He could only think of getting revenge but without knowing how to use his power how could he? Suddenly Ken remembered the time when he summoned spears of light.
"Master, would my powers have anything to do with spears of light?"
"Possibly, I wouldn't know because I've never seen someone with eyes like yours."
"I remember when I was being taken by null something felt strange, I felt like I could do anything in that moment."
"Hmm interesting"
Arthur knew exactly what power Ken held but in order to help him unleash his full potential he had to let him figure things out on his own.
"Ken, you're going to have to make a decision right here right now. Are you willing to give me 6 years of your life in order to become the strongest or will you bail right now and try to die fighting null a weak little boy."

Ken new exactly what the answer was. He was ready to train until he couldn't walk anymore.
"Make me your disciple please."
Arthur laughed as he saw Mia in Ken.
"Oh before I forget, Mia will also be joining your training. Her power allows her to be invisible but because she's inexperienced with her power she can only maintain it for three seconds."
"That's so cool Mia I didn't know you had such an amazing power"
"Thanks."
Arthur explained Ken about the give and take of using the power of eyes. Meoka was a system of power which allowed the user to use their eyes for power based on their eye colour. With great power comes great sacrifices.
"Let's say for example I want to show one person an illusion. It won't hurt me at all since it's only one person, but if I want to show 100 people an illusion my eye will start bleeding and I'll get nauseous. You said something about summoning thousands of spears of light, what do you think the sacrifice was?"
"My body."
"Exactly, you gave your life in order to pull out such a large scale attack. Miraculously you didn't die and I assume it has something to do with your black eye."
"My black eye holds power aswell?"
"Its up to you to find that out son."

8 164Hattoran Chronicle
There is a hostile sky above me. Man will never conquer space. He may live in it, but he will never conquer it. The sky above is void, and very black, and very hostile. -- Joseph Kittinger A pair of extragalactic supersoldiers are betrayed and stranded in the Milky Way at the end of the 29th century, potentially shaking the balance of power within the galaxy, but there's far more going on than anyone realizes. Allies are few in a galaxy eager to learn their secrets, and their ancient enemy continues to threaten the existence of the entire universe. The two Hattorans are forced to rely on each other and a few unlikely allies to solve a problem they for once can't simply fight their way out of.(Technically Star Trek fanfic but outside of existing storylines and I'm considering how easily the serial numbers could be filed off) This is all in progress and constructive feedback is strongly encouraged! I've got a lot in the air as I bring this all together.
