《The Aether Universe》Chapter 7

Tai looked at the skill descriptions, nodding his head. "These are pretty good. Now, to deal with all these cuts."
Small cuts covered Tai's body, but now that sand wasn't constantly attacking him, they had stopped bleeding because of his endurance. Even though his endurance had taken care of some of the problems, they hadn't completely healed, so Tai used Ki Healing to heal his body, enveloping himself with Ki and enjoying the warm feeling that was always there when he used Ki Healing.
Ki Healing has leveled up
+1 status point
Looking at the notification in front of him, Tai brought up his status to spend his status points as he had managed to gather a sizeable amount.
Level: 85 Health: 346/450 Mana: 130/130 Ki: 53/460 Chakra: 108/108 Strength:47(+) Dexterity: 10/20(+) Endurance:45(+) Intelligence: 13(+) Status Points: 21
Tai spent 3 points to bring his total strength to 50 and 5 points to bring his endurance to 50, leaving him with 13 points. Bringing his endurance to 50 gave Tai a new skill.
You have gained a skill: Regenerative Healing Factor (II)
+1 status point
Tai's eyebrows raised as he saw that the text had changed from learned to gained. Reading the name of the new skill, Tai became excited. If he was thinking right, then this skill could regrow his lost leg, so he quickly checked the description, hoping he was right.
Regenerative Healing Factor (II) Minor wounds such as cuts, bruises, and light burns heal faster than normal. Allows you to survive excessive blood loss. Critical wounds such as lost limbs, damaged nerves, and internal organs cannot be regenerated, as wounds would simply close up faster and lost organs would remain lost.
"Damn." It seems that the skill wasn't what he had hoped for. The skill would still help him, but it would be better if it allowed him to regrow his lost leg.

Opening up his status again, Tai spent the rest of the points he had on dexterity, bringing it up to 34, but since he lost his leg, there was a dexterity debuff on him so, in reality, he only had 17 points of dexterity. Thankfully, this could be mitigated to some degree if he was using his walking stick so instead of 17 points of dexterity, he would now have 26 dexterity.
Now that he had healed himself and spent his status points, Tai went back inside the house, Fenrir following behind him. "Hello! Is there anyone here?! It's safe to come out now! I dealt with the ants!"
Despite Tai's yelling, no one responded to him. Seeing that no one responded to him, Tai went upstairs, checking every single room before finding a room that was locked. Of course, the lock posed no problem to Tai. He could easily open the door with or without a lock, but Tai found it weird that this specific room was locked when every other room was unlocked.
Slowly opening the door, Tai forced the door open, breaking the lock in the process. As the door opened, Tai saw a woman huddled around with her two children beside her, staring at Tai in terror. "It's ok. I'm not here to hurt you. Are you the only one here?"
Although Tai tried to seem nice, it didn't help that he and his clothes were covered in blood. Fenrir was also covered in blood, his white fur stained red and giving him a menacing appearance.
Tai looked around the room to see if there was anyone else and saw a man charging at him with a knife. As the man charged at him with a knife, time seemed to slow down for Tai as he watched the knife slowly approach him.

Raising his hand, Tai was about to seriously injure the man when he noticed that the man was only planning on threatening him with the knife instead of using it to harm him, so instead of breaking the man's hand, he simply carefully grabbed the knife, pulling it out of the man's grasp and surprising the man.
"Hey, what gives. I came here to save you, not hurt you. You know it's not nice to hurt a cripple." Tai laughed as he passed the knife back to the man, basically saying that it doesn't matter if he had a knife or not.
The woman was the first to apologize to Tai, kneeling down. "Sorry, it's just that we thought you could've been something else and then you opened the door and we saw that you were covered in blood. We thought that you might've killed the people downstairs."
The man also apologized, kneeling next to his wife as he placed the knife back in his pocket. "We're very sorry."
Tai laughed, smiling. "It's fine, stand up. So are you the only ones living here then?"
Tai sat down on the floor, placing his walking stick to the side as Fenrir laid down on his lap.
The man shook his head. "No, there was a group of strangers that came here, but you probably know what happened to them. Also, we don't live here. We were planning to leave some time ago, but then those giant ants showed up." The man shivered as he remembered the scene of the dead stranger in his mind.
"Ahh, then you don't mind if I take some food downstairs, right?"
"No, no. Take as much as you like. We already have what we need in this backpack here," the man replied, smiling.
"Hmm, alright. Then I'll be going. By the way, if you want to protect your family, I suggest using the system and learning skills and using them." Tai got up and grabbed his walking stick as he made his way downstairs to the kitchen.
The family watched as Tai went down the stairs. They wanted to ask him to take them with him, but they knew that that wasn't appropriate. It was good enough that Tai dealt with the ants downstairs.
Arriving at the kitchen, Tai opened the refrigerator, excited to eat some good food, but when he opened the fridge door, he found out that it had been ransacked.
